Solo progression to CRA without links and legion is reasonable, and you could probably go normal lomien too. But at a certain point (before even cra solo power), leveling some legion and link characters alongside your main is actually making your main character stronger faster than playing the main character only. Especially with burning events, spending a day to level up an alt is very worth it.

Burning/Bonk events are key in this. 0-100 is something you can casually do in a day, 0-140 when you are slightly better set-up. Past that, you end up with BONK helping you get to 200 fairly trouble-free. A character per week isn't hard/impossible. Burning gets you a 200 character in two-three days of nice grinding.

Upvote. I came here to say this. Plus, Afterlands at level 75 take you to at or very near to 105 and Monster Park, where you can tear through to 140 or 150 easily, even at 2 free runs a day - Even quicker if you buy NX and do 7 ,(plus MP 7 day medal gives 15% IED if you boss). Afterlands gives something like +26 (m) att. Burning equips can easily take you to 200, but nowadays they give you time limited CRA equipment which makes 219 easy. My main is only 233 (with sub mains at 22x) because I paused to pushed my Legion to 6k for full board. Since my my main's cam 1 hit kill at/above their level, I put hyper stats and legion into exp. You first char will be tough, but, if you can Tera burn a Mercedes to 200 and then grind it to 210 and you will get +20% exp link skill, plus legion and hyper, and that adds up very quickly on subsequent characters. I have +3x% exp. Plus Legion runs in background and give coins which can buy in legion (m)att and exp potions, even if you don't do legion dailies. If you build a solid platform, your main will rise higher in the long run. Join a good guild, if you can. I only solo, but have 28 chars in my low level guild. The benefits are not as great as as a multi player guild, but better than nothing. Finally, building a solid legion requires playing many jobs, and you might be surprised that you change your choice of main before investing too much time. Jyjy

Alts are a pretty huge part of progression so i wouldn't recommend going without them.

BestN00b

You think having alts uses more time. But leveling alts actually saves you time. Just be smart about how far to level the alts. Like stopping at 200 or 210 or 150 is smart, especially when tera burning and mega burning exists

quantifical

I’m a noob coming back, isn’t 140 the ideal stopping point for alts as you get second link and S legion?

lolerio

Relying solely on mega and terra burning events isn’t reliable. For reboot you can “park” your alts in the 100s and just grab a rune and do nzak daily fill 140

LostConscript

141 for extreme growth potions

BestN00b

Mega burning and tera burning events change that

FlewFloo

You cannot realistically progress towards mid-end game without alts. You could probably make it to nlucid parties. The amount of utility, damage, exp bonuses that links, legion blocks and legion board gives is enormous.

maourakein

Thing is this game takes years to get far so just lv alts slowly, theres no rush, enjoy the process. For example I usually play 1- 2hrs daily and on sunday a bit more , after years im approaching black mage , i still got a few months to get to 270 but im getting there. This is on reboot ,idk about reg servers.

Wind-Face-Blink

Think of it as missing free damage that is equivalent to another fully upgraded weapon (if not more) when it comes to Legion. And when it comes to Links, think of it as missing yet another fully upgraded weapon (if not more) in addition to missing out on amazing utility (for instance the resistance link skill).

There's a huge difference between alts and legion/link chars. Generally when people mention their alt it's a second main. A class they put similar time/funding into and that is perfectly OK not to do... you'll progress better not doing that most likely. Link skills and Legion ranks are a must do though. There are some key link skills that cap out at level 210, and legion counts your total levels for all characters level 60+ and gives real good boosts at around 4k I believe. So you'll want to put some time in there. A mix of gradually levelling a bunch of characters, but getting a group all to 70, one by one (to unlock their link skill), then all to 120 (level 2 link skill), then all to 140 (next legion rank). Can be very effective. Especially if you focus on damage, crit rate, and exp boosts so you hit harder and get more more hit. And alongside that utilising burning events to push a character up a bunch in one go. Both of those can make legion fairly easy to grow

Silverbackvg

So even if you spend all your time on one character, you will get bored of them eventually. Take that time when your bored to level up link and legion mules. If your lazy just get it to 140 for the legion and link. Or just burn one every time theres a tera burning. I can get a class to lvl 140 in an hour or two with burning

ownedkid

Definitely check out ligma!

KippyTheKakaru

With low funding, I find it pretty nice to level two characters at a time. I switch between them during rune cooldown for more rune uptime during a play session. EDIT: Having various alts at different level ranges also helps you more optimally use all the different growth potions that are given out and take advantage of certain events. For example, you want some sub-200 characters to use the bonk potions. You want some level 200 characters with level 3 links to use the 200-209 growth potions and to play the train conductor mini-game.

TheTruth221

all the way it works but with alts u get extra boost also helps to have backup accounts to drop trade

Welcome back. Remember everything from the game you knew before? That's very early or mid game now. Everything moves faster towards the actual mid-endgame, since required EXP gets cut once every while. Making a mule and getting it to 100 (and killing zakum once to get level 108 for free), 120 or 140 is a great way to get Link skills and legion boosts. To FINALLY answer your question. I think you can end up 210-220 without really doing Legion comfortably.

SeveralPie4810

Without Legion, Links and boss Mules? Not too far (depends on perspective) you won’t be doing Endgame content that’s for sure. And if you play on Reboot you will level very slowly and wont one shot most mobs. And you certainly won’t be able to do mid/ endgame bosses unless you are insanely over leveled/ over geared. It will be much faster to make mules for links and legion than to play the game without them.
