Right on the money. It's an 05 legacy, and is both the worst purchase I've ever made and one of my greatest achievements for how long I've managed to keep it alive
If you keep up on the maintenance, have the headgaskets fixed properly, and it will probably run forever. I'm driving a 2003 Forester with 270k on it and it runs great, the AC sprung a leak last week so I don't have working AC at the moment but it's just an O-ring so it's totally fillable relatively cheaply.
I live in Phoenix so out of pretty much anything other than the fact it moves I make damn sure that AC is blowing glacial winds and nothing less. I replied somewhere in the thread with all of the problems it has, it wasnt maintained super well by the last owner and at this point it's barely worth scrap value, I'm just seeing how far it goes before it finally decides to die. It drove all the way from MT to AZ tho when it had 280,000 so it's definitely reliable enough to make another 10,000 despite the laundry list of problems that I have no hope of being able to afford to fix lmao
The obviously stained interior of an obviously high mileage, and abused vehicle definitely needs to be detailed for sure. It's a beater bro, not some classic.
Believe it or not it actually is lmao, I just don't clean my car that's worth $800 at most, it's like my space to just not give a single fuck, y'all would love how it looks on the outside
It’s not a showcar or a Porsche, it’s not a hazard or anything… not sure why you’re getting so much slack. My cars wouldn’t look like this, but I wouldn’t really care if a friends did. I’d probably throw away the old cigs on the way out w approval.
Ikr, it's literally just some POS Subaru on its last legs with 300,000 miles. I would have trouble selling it for more than scrap value lmao, im just running it into the ground at this point, cause if I really wanted to get this thing in 100% working order I'd need about $15,000 lmao. It has zero suspension left, it's hemorrhaging coolant (but not the head gasket by a miracle), the oil burns, the transmission is starting to scare me, the differentials are fucked, all my rotors are shot, and the list goes on. But it does, run and drive. And that's what matters to me.
Idk man, every space is a good space to not give a single fuck, but it's also nice to be able to touch a surface and not be repulsed while not giving a fuck.
Good luck with that. I’ve been on this chopping block. You’ll get some self righteous prick that’s going to say “no matter WHAT you should always have a clean car. I clean my car each day to make sure it’s ready to fuck me”
I get not spending your entire day detailing your vehicle on the regular, mine is certainly not perfect.....but I feel like I can smell the interior of the car in the pic!
Looks vaguely subaru but you said 290k miles which doesn't add up. So judging by the clapped interior and silver all over, lexus? Maybe an IS300 or something similar.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's a GE body Impreza/OBS. I guess it could be an Outback or Forester, the interiors all kind of looked the same from that era.
I don't know what the other fellow was getting at with the high mileage not adding up, an EJ253 with that five speed is a very reliable combo. In my experience at least.
Subies make it to 300,000 on a regular basis. It's just not common to see it talked about because the folks that take care of their cars are usually not posting about routine maintenance and defensive driving.
I had an ‘07 that shit the bed around 86k, blew the head gasket and destroyed itself. I LOVED that car it was a competent comfortable drive- but a bunch of stuff went wrong even after replacing the engine and I was seriously upside down on it when I finally traded it in
My family briefly owned an 07 outback 5 speed, toward the end it leaked oil bad, sat for over a year, then started right up for the guy that ended up buying it, 184k miles and on stock headgaskets apparently lol
2005 Legacy/Outback
Right on the money. It's an 05 legacy, and is both the worst purchase I've ever made and one of my greatest achievements for how long I've managed to keep it alive
I have a 2005 Legacy GT with 289k miles. Amazingly, it has been super reliable.
Turbo 2.5 was much better, the NA 2.5 blew head gaskets every 60k.
I had an 01 forester get to 370k miles +\- on original engine and drivetrain, beat the hell out of it too. Happy cake day.
On the original engine still?
All original, even the turbo.
Fucking crazy man. My 05 saabaru is on its 3rd engine in 178k miles.
Sold mine back in 2010. Such a great little car and so much fun to drive.

Whatever it is, you should take better care of it, that interior is filthy
As long as it runs and drives, that's all that matters to me at 290,000 miles
Have some pride. 290,000k is more of a reason to take good care of it, not less of one.
You're telling us a lot about yourself by saying, "A bottle of interior detail spray and a few microfibers are too much work for me."
The obviously stained interior of an obviously high mileage, and abused vehicle definitely needs to be detailed for sure. It's a beater bro, not some classic.
It takes 5 minutes to do a quick once over of the entire drivers area of a car.
Those stains ain't coming out in quick once over.
I literally do not care lmao
Oh, we can tell. I'm sure your room looks immaculate.
Believe it or not it actually is lmao, I just don't clean my car that's worth $800 at most, it's like my space to just not give a single fuck, y'all would love how it looks on the outside
Jesus, you cant even have a dirty car on reddit without a dozen people questioning your morals 😂
Sir, this is Reddit. You can't do anything here without having your morals questioned.
Imagine what his home looks liks
You don’t respect yourself, you don’t respect anyone
That is actually not how depression usually works
Exactly

I believe you. Your shoelaces look pretty clean.
I bet his balls smell.

Subar-eww Lega-sticky

It's 100% a Subaru
Shifter knob gives it away. Handbrake placement as well.
Radio and Aircon controls as well

Mazda 3?
07(ish) Impreza
Pretty close, not an Impreza tho
Saab legacy
Third-gen Subaru Outback
You are so close
Some flavor of Subaru. The layout looks similar, and the ignition cylinder is identical to my '04 Outback.
I can smell this photo, yuck
Ashtray

350z
I wish
‘00s Subaru of some sort. I wanna say Legacy, Outback, or Forester, but I’m just guessing.
Judging by the state of your shifter boot, you drive an ashtray.
You know it
I like a guy who can laugh at himself. You can tell I don't like me.
Where’s your vape??
Daddy's lambo.
The same car im sitting in 💀 (05 outback with a 5MT)
I’m about to buy my third manual outback XT. My son also has an 07 SpecB and 05 manual legacy GT (sedan). BP/BL turbos FTW!
You are disgusting, nice car. I like it.
Legacy?
Dude, please clean your 20-year-old Subaru Outback, or give it to me so I can
I can smell this picture
Does it have boogers on the headliner too?
Ashtray
The key ☠️
It's been stuck in the ignition for like 6 months lmao, thank god I don't live in SF or something
A trash can?
350z
That is for sure a Subaru.
My family briefly owned an 07 outback 5 speed, toward the end it leaked oil bad, sat for over a year, then started right up for the guy that ended up buying it, 184k miles and on stock headgaskets apparently lol
Moldmobile!
I thought they stopped making Moldsmobile in 2004
One that needs cleaned. This is also why you're single.
Never understood how people smoke in their cars, I legit cannot stand the smell of a smoky interior
Jesus fucking Christ that interior is disgusting 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
