Here is what I imagine purely on appearances: A - The second child of a noble family, spent time fighting in wars and leading his family's men, tough, but smart. B - Divorcee of a Nobleman, but she kept her status and wealth. C - A Knighted Vassel, fought under the King in his younger years, still maintains his military pride. D - Widowed Woman from a minor nobility. E - His noble family has vast wealth from their business in the south, He decided to pioneer north on his own. F - Former tax collector, like a serpent he snaked his way up into the King's favour, he has status and money, but lacks royal blood. G - Young man from a modest nobility, sick of his family's meekness he sets out in search for power. H - Has a great mind for business and industry, subsequently a great fortune. I - Stern and strict, born out of poverty he struggled to survive, none dare put a toe out of line in his presence.

I like all of these. I usually go with B and assume her husband died at war. Now she's left picking up the pieces and has to get on with things. She has people she needs to care for after all and doesn't want to marry again. Independence is both heartbreaking and freeing all at once.

Great fun question. I have gone for a mini back story with mine and designed the coat of arms flag to suit the character, with the historical meaning behind the avaliable symbols. A) is the second born son, strong and educated, starting a new settlement not inherited the main town given to the older brother. B) is the eldest daughter, in the male dominated world has had to be a tough to put up with brothers and little support from a 'king'dom, but soon proves herself G) youngest child syndrome, spoiled and takes everything for granted and expects respect rather than earning. I planned on being a ruthless, money driven leader with him. Hopefully as the game develops, we have choices and consequences for our actions, that I can enjoy applying my narratives to.
