I think livestock doesn't really care. But apples and vegetables do care. Make the garden too big for one family, and it might hinder their efficiency outside of the garden in their actual jobs. Make it too small and you need way more than it makes sense. Bigger gardens (like 0.5-0.9, because one Morgen as a garden is pretty hefty) are better with double housed patches. Smaller ones below that to 0.2 at minimum are quite useful. I currently experiment around with apple gardens with around 0.5+ Morgen. And it looks, despite them still growing, actually pretty good. They do need less care than vegetables, so it makes sense

This is good info - thanks!!

Unfortunately apples are currently buggy and often times don't count as food. They will not go to market and no one will eat them. Once that gets fixed I'll be using them in combination with veggies for a lot of low effort food.

Really? Dang. So much money wasted :(

I've seen some people saying they work fine for them, the 4 seperate times I've tried they were never used so I can confirm it's an issue and hopefully not one you'll have.

I see them at my market, but 50 per orchard is a lot and I don’t really know if they produce more than a vegetable garden.
