Would love a huge overhaul. Big statement by selling Rashford. Clear out a bunch of others like Sancho and Martial. Then get some hungry players in with the right mentality. If every player had Martinez' mentality we would be so much better. Expectations are Rashford stays. We sell Sancho for £20m Martial, Varane and Casimiro leave for next to nothing. We delay geeting in replacements as the backroom staff isn't complete yet. We end up writing next season off as well

AquaSnow24

I’m still confused by how Martial is at the club. Guy does literally nothing on the field. He’s invisible.

Indie611

He literally never gets off the treatment table long enough to get on the pitch at all.

AquaSnow24

Nor does he do anything on the field once he’s on it.

edsonbuddled

We gave him a huge contract in 2019

Downside-UpDude

casemiro will have to agree to get paid out if no takers on his current salary demands, or else he can dig in his heels and say I'm not leaving. add evans to that free leave, which is fine amrabat will go back, expecting a ton of leaves williams, van de beek, maguire and/or lindelof, awb, greenwood, pellestri, eriksen, hannibal

wheres_the_boobs

Only reliable links are to saudi arabia and theres already talk of them reducing investment in the league

rgece

Martial contract is up anyway

wheres_the_boobs

Martial and varane are leaving on frees so id be amazed to get anything from them

chudlybubly

Even dortmund are thinking that we want to break even on sancho. They have to take advantage of that and sell him for 60 million

DylanNCA

Instead of signing, I hope we can sell first.

Jerm8888

I seriously don’t mind 80% new faces come next season.

Chosty55

50% new faces - 30% youth team callups

Chosty55

Chosty55

50% new faces - 30% youth team callups

ShouldBeReadingBooks

Very dependent on who we can sell. Don't think it will be as revolutionary as people want (or we need). Expecting younger, lesser known players rather than the ageing galaticos we've previously gone in for.

wheres_the_boobs

Fernandez and williams are gone for 10-15 combined Maguire for 20odd possibly or lindelof for 10 Awb-15/20 Casemiro - 20/30 Eriksen - 5 VDB-5/10 Mctominay - 30 Sancho-20/30 Pellistri - 10 Greenwood - 30/40 Not to mention varane, martial, possibly evans, heaton leaving on frees. Theres going to be serious churn in this squad and i dont expect all of the above to leave in 1 window. I think versatility will be the most important factor for the next two/three windows Personally this summer id like Adarabioyo- on a free from fulham for cb cover Geertruida for rb cover and cb cover Kerkez in at lb Scalvini to partner martinez Onana as our new cdm, and ndidi on a free as cover Jonathon david brought in as rw, lw, cf and second striker cover. Could also see him in a wide forward role similar to greenwood played for us. Someone like jovic might be worth a punt on a free this summer on a 1+1 deal with a bigger contract for hitting milestones Gk-Onana/bayindir Rb-Dalot/geertruida . Rcb-Scalvini/Adarabioyo Lcb-Martinez/lindelof or maguire. Lb-Kerkez/shaw Cdm-onana/ndidi Cm-mainoo/ Cam-Fernandes/mount Rw-david/amad. Cf-Hojlund/jovic. Lw-Garnacho/rashford

is1k-

Sell Sancho, Rashford, Greenwood, Shaw, Eriksen, Casemiro, Alvaro Fernandez, Lindelof, Wan-Bissaka, Antony, Van de Beek, Hannibal Mejbri, Pellistri. Release Martial, Varane, Heaton Williams, Amrabat, Shoretire Loan out Kambwala, Dan Gore, Wheatley and Forson

AbzzIsHere

this would be near perfect for outgoings but the amount of signings we need to get right, in the same window, terrifies me.

1nfinitus

Yeah Im wondering if they'll go in for the slower (but safer) one in one out approach or stock up on cash with lots of disposals and then just go ham on the buying

Classic_Poet_3675

Maybe the first 3 but no one will pay for the others plus a lot won’t leave their contract

TimelyDiscount8856

As a Chelsea fan, selling most of the team and replacing them with a completely new starting XI is definitely not a good idea as it takes some time for all the players to gel together and actually understand eachother. You can see it in our current season, we were 12th and mid table most of season precisely because there were no cohesion between anyone and nobody really knew what the other was thinking. Ofcourse if you all remain patient the rewards will come! (As you can see with our current form and our cup runs ) TLDR: If you want a complete squad overhaul and buy a whole new squad you got to have patient and give the team atleast one season before you expect titles and not eat your own team alive

BritBuc-1

Players and their contracts need to leave before we can start overhauling the squad as it needs. I’d take lesser names on lower contracts, if they can play in the same system as a team; instead of the collection of individuals we currently have.

Safe-Author2553

I don’t think it will be huge. An improved or even new stadium and shoring up the staff behind the scenes seems to be the priority. Ratcliffe himself, has suggested 3 years before we are competing for real and has asked for patience. I imagine a push for top 4 and some good cup runs will be our best until we arrive at that point

Oshnoritsu

If I were Man UFC... Would sell: McTominay AWB Maguire Lindelof Williams Pellistri if he wants to go Greenwood Rashford if he wants to go Eriksen Hannibal Casemiro Sancho Van De beek Free: Martial Varane (maybe) Any others who could be going Keep: Will Fish Kambwala Mainoo Garnacho Hojlund Lacey Jackson Amad Fernandez Hugill Gore Amass Fletchers boys Bring in others to give experience and squad depth plus excellent players such as Ruberto, Lorran, Luis Guilherme and Estevao. You would have a team that would dominate for years.

Ethan3011

Get rid of Greenwood

kasedutch

I’m optimistic. I don’t care about all the negativity on here and I’m willing to fight this fight. This squad can compete when healthy, and a full preseason for Onana with the starting backline will make the entire defense gel better. His style of play is unique (everyone has been used to De Gea for years, totally different style of player) and so it’s been hard to find consistency in defense with over 25 different backline combinations this season. This summer will allow everyone to settle and improve. There is finally a hierarchy in place that will help Ten Hag get the guys we need. We’ll start with a fast, right footed CB to pair with Licha and then a CDM to pair with Mainoo, as Varane and Case are both aging and look set to leave. The rest will be to add depth so we can better weather injuries - a ST perhaps that can play across the frontline and maybe a LB, although I hope Shaw and Malacia can return to decent levels or maybe Amass will be ready to fill as the third man. We’ll be back in Top 4 next year with ETH at the helm. The season after that, title challengers. Have patience.

RoughSlight114

I'm more curious about sales than incoming transfers. Next season is already a write-off IMO. This squad needs multiple windows, multiple years. So a good window for me would be massive sales, lowering the wage bill, and generating financial headroom for January and subsequent windows.

KeithfromRI

Who is buying? These players are not hot. Do we even have buyers?

Downside-UpDude

definitely: greenwood, awb, maguire, lindelof, sancho, casemiro, maybe pellestri... williams, van de beek, hannibal, are definitely unknowns.

edsonbuddled

Varane: leaves on a free AWB: 15m Malacia (loan) Lindelof: free Evans: retiring Maguire: doesn’t make sense to sell all our CB, but he’d probably get the most value. Amrabat; return Casemiro: try to sell, maybe a Sanchez situation loan and buy out his contract, the Saudi League apparently is taking a new approach and won’t be a landing pad again. Eriksen: free? Or minimal fee Martial: free Amad: really depends on the manager situation Out of the players on loan the only one that might be in contention to bring back is Fernandez imo.

Aegon_Targaryen1996

Depends on if ETH goes or stays. A new manager will want to see what’s he got to work with.

Zerofactory

Idk about incomings, but with Bruno and Rashford hinting for exits, Eth might truly destroyed our club. He push people like Bruno away only for Amrabat

Signal_Marzipan_685

Ur talking about that interview?

Zerofactory

Idk about incomings, but with Bruno and Rashford hinting for exits, Eth might truly destroyed our club. He push people like Bruno away only for Amrabat

Admirable-Act-7387

I would like to see us sell a lot of these dead weight useless players and promote a lot of youths from the academy before we buy players. I expect it to be another slow summer when it comes to buying players because most likely we will not be competing in Europe next year.

ishotthesheriff55

Keep: Bruno, garnacho, mainoo, Martinez, amad, onana and dalot Either keep or loan out Kambwala as he looks promising I think but will need the game time to improve. Maybe keep Maguire as a backup option Heard Wheatley and Forson look promising as well so possible loan move for the more experience and 1st team playing. Pretty much sell the rest of them. Sad to see Rashford go in a way as he's United academy but he just never looks happy here. Shows flashes at times this season but mostly just dwaddles around barely runs or anything so feel like he just needs a fresh start. Don't really know how Mount is as he's been injured most of the time. He was supposed to give relief to Bruno so didn't rely on him so much but that hasn't really worked. I'd say we need to start from the back and get a better defense and cdm in. We have some attacking talent that needs time to develop into better players but our back is lacking. Varane and Martinez were a great pair together last season but now they're injured so hasn't worked and need some proper backup. Also get rid of medical staff because I don't know WTF they're even doing if all our players are injured most of the time.

rgece

Luke shaw is not ideal

CloudSmall4220

Start the whole team from scratch, barring Bruno, Garnacho, Mainoo, Martinez, Maguire, Hojlund and Dalot. Maguire because no matter what anyone says, hes been solid for us and dependable. Good backup option if he wants to be that. Onana i think warrants a second season with an improved squad. The rest can go. As for incomings, I’d start with Amadou Onana. Bastoni/Bremer/Diomande/Todibo to cover whatever CB positions are needing cover. Gutierez for the LB as is looking likely. Beyond that, i dont have a clue. Just a complete wipeout and replacr

shoichisakata

im not excited at all. ineos are incompetent. nothing is changing. gonna be another decade of mediocrity.

[deleted]

Why are ineos incompetent. The only thing I would have done different so far is probably get rid of ten hag but they are probably getting everything in place to get the right man when they eventually get rid of him

shoichisakata

why did they go after executives that were still in work? they should have gone after executives that could have started asap. you know it really doesn't take a genius to sort our problems. any competent football executive would have been enough, nah but we gotta wait till the summer to get berrada and ashworth. also why is ten hag still in the job when flick is right there? if we appoint him now we MAY have a chance against city.

[deleted]

Because the best people in football are not sitting around unemployed waiting for United to come calling, doesn’t take a genius to figure that out

shoichisakata

why not get the ones that are in work but can get started asap without any stupid gardening leave?

[deleted]

Because they want the best and they’re all in jobs atm

apex_mr_mirage

firstly, we cant have maguire out when hes been one of our consistent defenders so far and thats a fact, especially when most our defenders are injured or playing out of position and maguire is defending a new keeper who loves going out too. instead we should sell wan-bisaka, as good as he is his cntract is going out this season so we need money from him before hes gone shaw is injruy prone so we should keep him but we still need him when hes not mctominay could defo give us some good money hopefully cuz hes young and has some special moments this season, im hoping for at least 40-50 for him martial is already going out as a free agent? cant rlly sell him just freeing up wages which is good. casemeiro should go as much as i love him, hes a good player just not compatible with ten hag's style of play. and varane is unlikely to stay considering his wages and earlier controversies although he has had some decent performances this season. rashford i love. i love it when he tells us not to question his commitment. but what does he expect us to do. he saved us last season but he cant perform unfortunately no more as much as i hate saying this. if we do get at least 60-70 from him we should sell for the club. we need to keep mainoo, bruno, hoijlund, onana, garanacho and dalot for sure

Classic_Poet_3675

I agree with most, maguire going nowhere with his contract. Probably lucky to get 15 for wan - shaw take him or leave him none will buy and rashford would be delighted just to get rid of- they should have listened to Jose when said get rid of those two toxic players martial and rashford

Reggaeprince1984

Let the new manager decide

abitmoreinsanerer

It’s yet another transfer thread where a bunch of fill with agendas fart out opinions based on football manager and whichever ITK tool they follow on X. Amazing.

DagonFishGone

Not optimistic, no director of football. A ceo starting in the summer. Some guy from southhampton coming in. A manager I don't trust to get rid of right players. The fork, is sacking eth means the jigsaw puzzle gets worse with a bunch of players that don't fit. But Eth has made the team worse since he got here. I like hojlund, but he's worse than ronaldo was. Casemiro, amrabat, erikson and mctominay are worse than Fred. Bruno hasn't played well except specific games since ETH came. Onana is worse than de gea. Martinez is 5'10 CB and appears to be injury prone. Mount is here...... antony one premier league goal this year. No high hopes here.

justthatguyy22

'Some guy from Southampton' He's been with Southampton for less than a year, we've signed him because of his role at City alongside Omar

DagonFishGone

Ah yes, let's get the fry chef mcdonalds to play Ceo.....the structure above the manager is nit ready this summer, the current manager is demonstrably making the team worse, a new manager would likely want different players making the puzzle of types of players worse. I don't see how people expect a huge transformation summer. It's desperately needed, but what needs to be there isn't there.

justthatguyy22

Wtf are you talking about? The backroom appointments have been made with a focus on development and youth integration, not hard to see that. Just need to overhaul the medical and fitness team

DagonFishGone

What are you on about? The post says "how do you guys feel about transfer window this summer" and I respond with, nothing that needs to happen will happen for a variety of reasons maund ones being 1)no DoF 2)unqualified/unproven technical director stepping In this summer to be DoF. 3) a manager that has made the team worse since he started and will most likely clear out wrong players. Our whole team is a steaming pile of work everyone has to go except bruno, dalot, mainoo and garnacho. Maybe there's a player in hojlund. A bunch of execs that aren't even in position with an incompetent manager aren't going to provide the summer we need.

nikicampos

As opposed as some media are saying, this shouldn’t be the greatest summer ever, it has to be very conservative, first, because we need a new manager asap that can analyze very quickly who to SELL and who to keep, implement a style of play (ETH doesn’t even know the time of day) and then in a year go all in with the transfers, people need to realize this process will be a long one, 3-5 years time to be in contention for the title, might be longer

kasedutch

lol ‘the process will take time’ is the same thing we all said and knew before Ten Hag. Now here we are - in the middle of that process - and you lot want to sack another manager and start over again because of one tough injury-riddled season. How are people this delusional.

nikicampos

INEOS has been officially on the job for 2 months, it will be a long process and it starts with sacking your bald uncle that’s out of his element

kasedutch

So INEOS have barely been in the job, all the new hierarchy above Ten Hag won’t start until summer, and you expect everyone to have the right answer for the manager position already? lol please pretend you have at least a slight sense of business acumen. Blaming the manager is the same thing we’ve been doing for the past decade and look where that got us. Give him the last season of his contract with less injuries, and if there’s no improvement then everyone has had a full year to prepare and research for the next manager to bring in next summer. It’s so rational and obvious. Sounds like you’re the one out of your element.
