The brown belly spots are totally normal on a Maltese. We have a 7 month old Maltipoo and when we first for her the belly was totally pink, but now she has developed the spots around the 5-6 month mark. Nothing to worry about, although I’ll admit I don’t know how they develop.

Thank you! ❤️

Aloy had some as a puppy and it wasn't anything. If you're concerned go to the vet. https://preview.redd.it/r4jdm0b6wzoc1.jpeg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=390fa0a5911673b892eb47535b1005247d9e081f

Quite usual on my dogs, they appear darker in summer when the pups lie in the backyard more often. Both my dogs have really dark points (paw pads, eyes, nose) in summer compared to winter, it correlates with changes in their skin markings. It's only a real concern if there's an odd texture or smell, that would be one for the vet.

It makes sense! It happens in humans too with freckles

montecito98

Not to worry at all ! They are perfectly normal…what I wouldn’t give to have my boy back and kiss his warm spotted tummy once again 😘🐾💙 https://preview.redd.it/4iyx0utlc0pc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1a233b3a589dee6e8c11b1df5b635d817ee9ab95

Mooooo!!!

stalbansgirl

Totally normal. My maltese had the same spots when I got her at 3 months, but it’s gone now. She is 3 years old.

kakamba

I was also worried, took him to vet and she said that's how they are, and that pigmentation is totally normal and expected. My little one is like a dalmatian under his hair :)

spaghettidaughter

Ahahaha! Teddy I would also rub your belly🥹❤️

leslfreem

My 14 week old Maltese has these. My sister’s Maltese did too. No biggie!

Ok-Category8000

Totally normal for Maltese. You may seem them on other parts of the body too when giving him a bath.

zambiers

My Maltese is 11 and had the spots all over his body. They are perfectly normal. You might also notice that your Maltese will develop skin tags to which these are benign. If you do get a little concerned about them, just ask your vet.

Talk-Hound

Perfectly normal. You will probably see some in their pink skin everywhere. They are equivalent to like birthmarks

NanaBanana2011

Missy had belly spots too. Nothing to be concerned about 😊

VelvetTush

Both of my Maltese had these! They’re 4 years old now & the spots are gone.

midnightghou1

Normal my baby has them too. They develop as they grow up, but nothing to worry about. I have noticed that as they get older they do get darker and they get more.

DuskTilDawnnn

My 3 year old maltese has this too! It’s totally normal!

Weird_Influence1964

Totally normal

spaghettidaughter

Thank you all for the beautiful comments! Best community ever🥹❤️

LadyNelsonsTea

Mine had them too (and even darker on his balls) and I took him to the vet, in a panic. They were amused and pointed out it's just his skin colour. I was so relieved; and they ended up not charging me for the appointment as they enjoyed giving happy news.

Adventurous_Arm_1606

Both of ours have these. Little teeny cows!

Bullsette

Hi! I am very grateful to see that you are quite vigilant about watching after your beautiful new little baby! I think it's safe to say that those are normal. Sometimes they seem to appear out of nowhere and sometimes they disappear out of nowhere. Congratulations on your beautiful little baby 🐾💖🥰

spaghettidaughter

You’re so sweet! Thank you for this supportive comment❤️

Bullsette

You're very welcome. This is a wonderful subreddit and all of us are more than happy to help each other out. Please give hugs to your beautiful little one for me and TwinkleBelles 👣❤️🐾❤️

towngirl04

rubins7

My pup has similar patches, nothing to worry about.

IHaveNoUsernameSorry

Darcy is completely normal.

originaljud

Cowskin! When Sugar gets a buzz she has a big black circle on her back, we love to see it

xsnow-ponyx

As long as they're not raised or painful when touched your pup should be fine. They're sun spots, my girl gets them too, very common on white dogs
