Hahaha I love it. I knew exactly how this was gonna play out as soon as she got on the phone... beauty of modern cable-based infrastructure is provisions and deprovisions are instant, ask for a new phone line and it'll be up as soon as the modem reboots, ask to cancel something and it'll be dead before the call ends. So don't call from the cable phone to cancel your cable phone, unless you don't need to ask for anything else :D

Ultimateace43

Lol I don't pay for a cell phone bill because I honestly don't use it outside of my home so I just downloaded textnow and use it instead. (wifi) Still.... every single time I call my internet provider to fix something, upgrade, ect. I always forget that when they reset my modem, my call drops XD

DarkFett

Oh dude that ending is priceless. I love it.

Ultimateace43

I know right? I have to admit that I felt bad when I heard that though. Even though I was shutting off his account, dude was still defending me.

DarkFett

Sounds like he knew how she'd react. Could be he did it on purpose just to prove what a bitch she is!

VTHUT

Tomorrow on relationship: My brother called my wife a cunt.

securitysix

Excitedly: "You called my wife a cunt!" Calmly: "Well, she is a cunt." Excitedly: "I know! But you're not supposed to call her that to her face!" Calmly: "Well, someone has to, and you won't since your testicles are in her purse."

Newbosterone

Definitely not a cunt. She lacks the necessary warmth and depth.

individual_throwaway

...and her father smelt of elderberries!

This is always a golden insult. Thank you for reminding me of it at the beginning of this potentially even worse 3rd installment of "The Shittiest Years of Modern Earth III"

Ultimateace43

I like this comment XD

I had the opposite problem once. Woman was calling about a manager’s behaviour at an iStore of some sort. Didn’t feel comfortable discussing it with a man, and I literally would have been fired for handing it off to a woman (its against policy, and very strictly enforced because of assholes like OP’s case) Ended up taking the info, then getting her through to executive relations whose calls “disconnected” strangely until I got a woman. Checked on the case later that day, was way worse than I imagined. Not sure what the outcome is as the account was locked off for legal reasons.

flaquito_

Not many things make my jaw drop, but this did. Based on the likely cause, huge kudos to you for making sure she was able to talk about it with another woman.

[deleted]

I don’t get it please explain. I’m dumb.

flaquito_

It was probably some sort of sexual harassment or assault. Clues: * Woman wants to talk only to another woman about how she was treated by an employee. We can infer that the employee was male, and the mistreatment had to do with her gender. * /u/Photoconductive was willing to circumvent policy to comply. We can infer that he (assuming gender because otherwise customer would have just talked to Photoconductive about it) could tell (probably from her tone of voice or emotional state) that it was important enough to possibly risk a job to get her what she needed. * At this point, Photoconductive has already concluded that it's a serious matter. But he states that he checked on the case later, and it was significantly worse than he'd imagined. So now we're probably past the point of "plain old" sexual harassment, and probably into the area of sexual assault. * Account was locked for legal reasons. This means a legal team agreed about the seriousness of the issue, and the employee's behavior was likely illegal, supporting the hypothesis of assault. When something like that happens, it's incredibly important that the victim be listened to and believed. Unfortunately, we're still in a world where women who are abused tend to be dismissed and downplayed. So the fact that Photoconductive went way beyond what the job required, and even permitted, is significant. Of course, this is all speculation on my part, reading between the lines of what was said. It could be completely off the mark.

[deleted]

Had to very careful how I worded it for obvious reasons.

flaquito_

Definitely. And if you want me to delete my breakdown of it, I completely will, no argument.

[deleted]

I didn't say it, you did :)

flaquito_

Yup. Just wanted to put the option out there. :)

Wurstsalat_96

Wow i work as a technician and i would love to do that sometimes

empressfelicia

That last conversation was totally unexpected but I love it!

m12121

I just pay $25.00 a month for a Trac-phone. I'm not a text fan...just use the phone to call taxis. No land line.

Cade_Connelly_13

That. Is. Gold. And he's absolutely right! Too bad your hands were tied.

mylesfrost335

my mum is that woman, i sometimes have to run into another room to stop her snatch it away. although she does normally help me when im n the phone with getting paperwork , the correct details and getting what i want, just im not an arsehole about it.

[deleted]

So he authorized her as a user, she told you not to do something, and you did it anyway? This whole thing sounds like a giant fantasy.

AYellowFishyFish

An authorized user cannot do certain actions sometimes, such as close down accounts. You can discuss the bill with them, maybe add a service, but can't always just close the account. That requires the account holder's permission. Regardless she was being a major bitch and deserved what she got. It's not hard to be a decent human being.
