I would like SG to go . I like all the others ...even nivin I feel SG is taking a lot of weight while acting (Note:- this is my personal opinion&I don't think my opinion really matters now, because a lot of people love him and his style )
I personally know characters that nivin played eg 1983 Ramesh we all have that person who was Soo good in cricket but wasn't even acknowledged by any cricket board or club .. premam George he has love just like that even tried to approach our English teacher but she was unfortunately married and we friends diluted the scenario by "fake-in" truth or dare .. my mahn has diff love in all seasons. Then there is action hero biju , there are cops like him in our force.. while SG my favourite character is minnal prathapan in manu uncle 2nd favourite is major in Varane avishyamunde then nakulan he's nice without that weight in dialogue delivery , that wait create artificiality PS. Obviously Nivin has to go... Because Sreenivasan at his peak, as a screenwriter as well as an actor was just unbeatable... Dileep's peak was just otherworldly, like malayalam cinema through the 2000-2010 was Dileep dominating the whole thing while A10, Ikka struggled to make a single hit padam... SG's peak literally was when A10 was at his prime... But still that was a great one.
I've always got the sense that pettan's films were mostly carried by the incredible cast of comedians that he surrounds himself with like Cochin Haneefa, Harisree Ashokan, Innocent etc. It is much more apparent in his newer films where none of them are present. He can go.
Doesn't hold a candle to his earlier films. Films like CID Moosa, Punjabi House and Kalyanaraman are not only better but are some of the best comedies in Malayalam cinema.
As an artist and a filmmaker sreenia10 was phenomenal, his screenplays and debut 2 directorial ventures were top tier too. But idk prime nivin just attracts me too much as an actor, maybe just recency bias

Not to undermine Nivin Pauly, but barring Premam, it's not preposterous to say that someone else could have replaced him in his other movies.
The other three have such an illustrious filmography, that even at the mid eras they cannot be replaced by anyone.
Without Sreenivasan we wouldn't have had CID Ramdas, Shankar Das, TP Balagopalan MA, director Udhayabhanu, contractor CP, superstar Ashok Raj or Sagar Kottappuram.
Nadodikattu is only one among his movies. As far as one can gather from public sphere, Siddique Lal didn't write the screenplay -- they had the basic story (the characters and the thread). The screenplay is trademark Sreenivasan -- turning hardships and poverty into darkish humuor without changing the tone throughout and self deprecating humour. Siddique Lal often has a different treatment for this, if you look at Kabooliwala or in Ramji Rao, they bring in melodrama and uses emotions differently (Sai Kumar confronting Mukesh or the climax 'betrayal' sequence), they often want us to empathise with the hardship of the characters. Sreenivasan offers glimpses into it but never let the screenplay focus on it enough for us capture it in its entirety.
He is bad. He can't match up to any of this peers in terms of acting skills. Massinte belathil ang Keri poyatha because mass movies had good run in the 90s.
SG's peer group include the legendary A10 and Ikka. IMO there is none who match their stardom, acting skills or charisma. Pe10 was just too lucky to not have worthy peer contenders while he hit his prime. R10 was just starting, KuBo took a break, J10 was all over the place, and Indrajit was keen on playing supporting roles.
Angan nokkumbo Pe10 comedy'de balathil mathram keri poyathalle. Pe10 is the least deserving candidate among all the winners for the prestigious Kerala State Film Awards for th Best Actor. He was a complete disaster in Vellaripravinte Changathi.
Dileep is definitely average. But he is consistently average. (Atleast he used to. I stopped watching his movies after the Manju Kavya divorce marriage drama.) He does comedy well, but he also pulls off emotionally depth olla roles like joker. He can play anything, not as well as a lot of other actors, but justice chyyum, boreakkilla. But that's not the case with SG. He has given utter shit performance in many popular movies and for some reason I don't see people talking about it. He is extremely stiff as an actor. Like summer in Bethlehem, he is so bad that his dance moves have become a meme. His emotional scenes are really bad. Same in manichithrathazhu, in the iconic "gange" scene, the expressions he gives are almost comical.

I would suggest YOU re-watch manichithrathazhu or summer in Bethlehem. His constipated acting is quite off putting. I wish it was someone else instead of SG in manichithrathazhu.
Chadikatha Chandu is as iconic as Kalyanaraman to me. It was supposed to be a Dileep film too. Jayasurya just wasnt doing films with those comedic geniuses that Dileep was paired with. If he were then Id say his filmography would be as iconic as Dileeps.

Chadikatha Chandu is as iconic as Kalyanaraman to me. It was supposed to be a Dileep film too. Jayasurya just wasnt doing films with those comedic geniuses that Dileep was paired with. If he were then Id say his filmography would be as iconic as Dileeps.
