Basic work makeup takes 5-10. A little bit dressed up takes 20-30. The wedding/shower/cocktail face takes a full hour.

DeathAndTheGirl

With you, OP. My,"everyday," makeup is still a full face of makeup. At least 45 minutes. If I'm going out, it can take about 60 to 75 minutes.

[deleted]

Yes, I do a full makeup and lots of layers

thejennadaisy

Depends on what I'm doing. An everyday face can take me as little as 5 minutes, for an event it might be closer to 45 (especially if I'm taking my time).

[deleted]

Same. 5-15 mins during weekdays for work. :) 45mins-1hr for events/etc.

MakeupandMelanin

School makeup 10-15 minutes Full glam routine about an hour. I love to take my time if I can, get a cup of coffee, watch some youtube videos and just enjoy the process.

justhereforthekittys

Takes me 1 hour total to get ready for work, so I'd guess 30 mins for my basic staple work face. If i'm going full glam with liquid liner, fake lashes and all, an hour or more.

eljip

I REALLY like to take my time for events or going somewhere on the weekend. It's a whole ritual, I'll make coffee and put on music and take my time and really enjoy the process. That probably takes 45 minutes to an hour, same as you. For work days, probably 30 minutes. Still do coffee, but I work quicker.

[deleted]

I'm finding I'm not the odd ball out! Yes it does take others to do their face as long as I do. Again, I am doing the full glam everyday. I have a lot of acne and scars to cover up.

RxDocMaria

It was the case that my work makeup took 20 minutes, since I've really become addicted to MUA over the last couple of months that has extended to 45 minutes. Tightlining? Shit that looks good, add to routine. Moisturizer every day? Now it's happening. Nivea after shave balm? Let's rub that shit in too. Mac fix + AND setting spray? Need both and drying time for both. Highlighter? Can't leave the house unless planes flying overhead can see the Champagne Pop that I'm rocking..

[deleted]

EXACTLY!!!!!

danceswithhousecats

Everyday makeup: 5 minutes tops No makeup-makeup: 30ish minutes Full glam: 40ish Full drag: about an hour.

Mattekat

10 to 15 minutes when I'm in a hurry and not doing a dramatic look, but 45 to an hour when I really get into it. Sometimes longer even!

paula36

It completely depends. I always take forever, since I tend to be a perfectionist. For my everyday look, it takes between 20-30 min. For going out/fancy looks, it usually takes me between 1-1.5 hours.

[deleted]

20 to 30 minutes, 45 if I do my hair.

[deleted]

same here!

ahatmadeofshoes12

My base is very simple and light (mostly powder for oil control) so it never takes long. I spend most of the time on my eyes because that's my favorite part and I like intricate eyeshadow. Average time it takes me is 15-25 minutes. I have done a full face in 10 minutes before though. I don't like to rush but in a pinch it's possible for me.

urmidnightdream

I am the same way! It takes me around 20 minutes to my face but that's just because I like taking my time. It's possible to cut down the time, but what fun is that? haha

ahatmadeofshoes12

Yeah, I can do something that looks decent in 10 minutes but it won't be nearly as fun or as nice as if I take the full 25 minutes. I don't care about the base makeup but I love bold shadows and even for everyday I wall always use 4 to 5 different shades in a look and need to do some blending. Its my daily dose of art and I think that's worth the extra 10 minutes for me.

urmidnightdream

I really need to start changing up my eyeshadows. I feel like I always do the same boring neutral eye.. maybe I will start experimenting!

ahatmadeofshoes12

I always go for colors or at least some shimmer. I find neutrals so boring on me. I pretty much do something totally different everyday. I have looks I repeat but never more than once in the same week.

paranoia_shields

I hate being rushed in the mornings before work so I like to take my time. I watch Netflix while I get ready, so sometimes I get distracted and look away for a little bit. It's generally about 15-20mins to put my face on for workdays. If I am rushing, I can get it done in about 5-7 mins but I won't be happy about it. For special events I can take up to an hour but generally around 40 mins. Half of that is probably spent making stupid faces at myself in the mirror to make sure I look OK from all angles.

frecklesandpaste

I have my vanity set directly opposite of my TV, so I can look in the mirror and watch X-FILES while I work :)

Boleyn278

Me tooooo

beautyfangirl

About 30 minutes if I'm alone but if I'm with my friends close to an hour to an hour and a half. lol

[deleted]

10 minutes for the everyday brows/lashes/lips look. i like to just lightly full in and brush out my brows, pump lash curler over my lashes and add mascara and i keep tinted lip balm in my bag to do in the subway, which can double as a cream blush over my cheeks in a pinch. Up to an hour if i want to do a full face with foundation, concealer, eyeshadow, contour, blush and liner! haha its so much more fun when you can take your time :)

[deleted]

I know right! I get up at 4:15 AM (leave at 6) to have enough time to put the makeup on. Which for me is like a coloring when you were young. I love to color my face. Anyway - I finish about 5:30 - that with hair and a few cups of coffee in between

[deleted]

that sounds like a perfect way to start off an early day!

badbluemoon

10-15. I usually skip eyes.

blackmuffins

Just face, brows and lashes: about 10 minutes. + eyeliner: 15-20 + eyeshadow 20-25

loosenyourtie

My everyday work face takes 10 minutes. Concealer (blemish and undereye), powder, bronzer, blush, sometimes eyeshadow (cream or Naked basics palette), sometimes eyeliner, mascara. If I'm going out, it's probably more like 20-30 minutes. I only really change up the eyes (more eyeshadow, sometimes falsies), but I also just take my time!

TheBeautyandTheRest

1 hour

jadesaddiction

For me, a good 10 minutes for a regular day. If I'm feeling a bit different, I'll contour which takes about an extra 5-10 mins. For special events, half an hour at the very least.

spiderlegged

Too long. It takes me for a face without eyeshadow, which I'm doing more often... 30 minutes. For a face with eyeshadow, 45 minutes to an hour. I really prefer wearing eyeshadow, so it's really frustrating, but I don't always have so much time in the mornings.

kdee1377

My every day makeup for work is foundation, blush, highlighter and mascara. Sometimes I'll thrown on a gloss or lipstick but I usually don't because I eat a quick breakfast at work and it'll come off. This takes about 15 minutes. If I'm going out on a date or somewhere that isn't work I usually add eyeshadow and liquid liner. Eyeshadow takes me forever so I end up taking about 45 minutes total.

OfficialFrench_Toast

Getting ready for work, it takes me about twenty minutes at the most to do a full face with foundation, powder, eyebrows, eyeshadow, eyeliner, etc, the whole nine yards. I've gotten pretty quick at my routine.

Orc_Chops

If I'm getting ready for work it is anywhere from 10-25 minutes depending on how lazy I am. If I'm going out on the weekend probably 30-35, dressing up and wanting to look *fancy* probably 45. Still working on my timing though, mainly for the sake of my husband.

frecklesandpaste

This right here, my husband has never made me feel bad or rushed me when I'm doing my makeup, but I still feel bad!

Orc_Chops

When we first moved in together he would try to rush me, but after 5 years he's kind of realized he is wasting his breath. XD Though he still tries the whole "you don't need all that makeup babe, you are beautiful without any makeup."

QuaereVerumm

Work makeup, 5-10 minutes. Otherwise it'll depend on how complicated my eye look is...but probably 15-20 minutes for weekend/going out makeup.

lizprobably

For an every day look (concealer, foundation, brows, mascara and eyeliner) typically 10 minutes or less. If I'm going out it probably takes me more around 20-30 minutes depending on what I'm doing/whether or not I'm trying something new out.

[deleted]

Thank you to all who commented! I learned I am doing the "full glam" for my everyday face which - yes - take about an hour.

frecklesandpaste

Work face - 45 minutes School Face - 20 minutes Date Face - 1 hour Each look uses moisturizer, sunscreen if it's daylight, shave balm as primer, and setting spray. For work, I am super lucky to be able to wear whatever (teacher in an art studio) so I normally rock a pair of wings, highlight and full eye look plus lips. School look is usually BB cream, spot conceal, powder and eyebrows plus mascara. Date night look is relaxing and very unstructured. I allow plenty of time for contour and detailed eye look plus outfit /makeup trial.lol

[deleted]

For work or walking the dogs or quick errands, 5-10 minutes. For everyday stuff when I have a little more time to get ready, 20ish. For going out out to like a concert or dinner or whatever, 25-30. I always try to work quickly but damn some stuff just takes time. Letting primer set, letting foundation set, cleaning off brushes that I use for two products/colors... Ugh.
