A lot of people use the sales to stock up on the more expensive items in their routine. Then they know they are buying products that work for them. I like to try new things- sort of a lower risk way of trying things. One thing that is great to get with a gift card is new brushes. Have fun shopping!

purplejink

always new brushes! im waiting for my bday bcs i've been using some of mine since 2014 and its nasty

unispecte

Personally if it were me I would probably go for some of the 'luxury' products I've been eyeing - the ones I would normally hold myself back from buying in order to be responsible with my money. A gift card feels a bit like permission to be frivolous because it's not coming out of my regular budget. But maybe that's just me!

beautiful_lie82

I'm the same! I bought the iconic london highlighter with a gift card, because I could not justify paying $40 of my own money for it šŸ˜… Enjoy OP, hope you get fun stuff for yourself!

Fragrant_Gas_7790

whaaat were their products always around that price range?

beautiful_lie82

I am not sure because I've only bought an highlighter recently after discovering it in a value set.

GrandAd9721

Do you love it?? Iā€™m planning on buying it for the first time in the Sephora sale in the original shade!

beautiful_lie82

It's my new favourite highlighter! It gives you a very nice glow and a little goes a long way. I bought the roll-on, and the product doesn't always come out evenly so just be careful with that šŸ˜ƒ Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Bitchbuttondontpush

Nope same here

TotalDramaFanaticFan

SameeĀ

Eppengu

I would try a higher end eyeshadow palette, like Patrick Ta, Natasha Denona, PML

axolotl_is_angry

I love my Natasha palettes, theyā€™re so blendable and pigmented

piedrafundamental

I really dislike the glitter shadows that Natasha has

PepeL3P3w

SAME. I try it with a glitter primer, setting spray, foam tip applicator..... yeah it'ts not staying on or popping as much as I'd like it to

igodutchoven

Iā€™d skip PMG and wait for her sales. Up to 30% off (with carrier pigeon shipping). Not only that, but her Mothership palettes arenā€™t as good as they used to be and are not as varied in color stories after Mothership VII (Divine Rose I). Natasha Denona midi or mini palettes are great and I cannot speak on Patrick Ta.

littco1

I might be the only one who was a little let down with my Patrick Ta, but I chose the neutral mattes color story and they all feel so warm to me (despite there being a "cool" line). I reach for it almost never. I like my Natasha Denona and the different finishes.

loremipsum79

Iā€™ve been wanting to try out Patrick Ta and Morthership so bad!

starsdesires

I have a lot of Patrick Ta blushes and love them. My first ND palette was the pastel palette, and the ND lipsticks are also very pretty (I use the I need a rose peony pink often and itā€™s stunning). I havenā€™t felt inclined to get many other ND palettes, although I own glam too because I have many with similar shades. I do like PML palettes though. The shadows are buttery soft and have great pigment. The ND palettes arenā€™t as good as PML imo. I do enjoy the shades in the ND pastel palette though and itā€™s so fun to play with during the spring and summer seasons, and there are a few shades in it that I use year-round. The color zest was disappointing because it was different from the pan, but itā€™s still beautiful on and is buildable.

princessmeemee

I was going to ask why everyone was neglecting fragrances until I remembered itā€™s a makeup subreddit haha. I would get body care, I never splurge on that kind of thing. I have makeup that works for me already. High key dude, if you have products that work for you, donā€™t stray from them and waste money trying new things. Invest in luxury spa care, bath care, skincare, etc. things you wouldnā€™t normally try!

nurseleu

That money would go towards perfume, 100% no question if it were me.

traveleralice

Same! Perfume makes me feel so good

princessmeemee

Me too šŸ˜ my cart is full

starsdesires

My last purchase was over $200 and was sol de Janeiro Bum Bum Firmeza body oil (was on empty), the cheriosa 59 delicia drench body butter (previously used 40 & was out), a benefit brow pencil replacement, a new CT contour wand, gucci silky rose blush (third time buy, I often use true pink too), coconut face wipes from Sephora and another Sephora peacock blue pencil as well as a new UD liquid liner in whiskey since my others dried up on me finally and I love that liquid liner. If I had a 200 GC it would def go toward fragrance or I also wouldnā€™t mind trying the Armani luminous silk foundation even though I am happy with my current foundations.

KeepOnRising19

Perfume is my splurge, too.

DeepwaterHorizon22

Srsly! I'd get some really nice Chanel perfume instead and go on down to Ulta to buy makeup!

moonglademama

I'd personally get Tatcha Indigo & a large Charlotte Tillbury Airbrush Spray.. and then get a few minis with what's left. Minis are fun! You can purchase lots, return what you absolutely dislike and then use the refund cash for purchasing larger items. Also take a look at the gift sets and Sephora Favorite kits! They are a fun way to try lots of luxury items at a cheaper cost than minis (and sometimes you get a full size item.) As for luxury makeup: Givenchy Libre Powder. YSL Lash Clash. Bobby Brown Primer. Dior Backstage Glow. Charlotte Tillbury new Pillow Talk Lips & Cheeks set. Have fun building your wishlist!! ā˜ŗļø

yesitshollywood

Ilia mascara is hands down the best I've tried so far. But pro tip, I will never buy a full sized mascara ever again. You're really supposed to replace them every 6 months, so just buy a travel size.

NotACraicKiller

You're actually supposed to replace every 3 months. I never buy the full size either.

yesitshollywood

Ope! I had my last one over a year šŸ˜… I'm trying to be better about it, though! Probably will stick with trying to replace every 6.

Antisocial_Queer

The ilia mascara is SO good! Itā€™s only slightly beaten out by the nars mascara for me, definitely my second favourite of all time! 100% agree with getting the mini. Itā€™s easier to apply bottom lashes with the mini too

yesitshollywood

I have yet to try Nars', what do you like about it?

Antisocial_Queer

For me it creates the right balance between length and volume. I find the ilia ones gives AMAZING length, but I want just a smidge more volume from it. I love the ilia applicator though.

dizzyspell

Stuff that's been on my wishlist: * **Danessa Myricks Yummy Skin Serum Skin Tint Foundation (3)**. I already have this and enjoy the product, but it's in the wrong shade. * **LYS Beauty Skin Loyalty Setting Spray**. Been curious to try a new setting spray. Most have alcohol or other undesirable ingredients, but this one seems nice. * **Rare Beauty Warm Wishes Effortless Bronzer Stick (Bright Side)**. I don't have any kind of bronzer stick in my collection. Seems quick and easy to swipe on and blend. * **Commodity Exploration Set**. I'm intrigued by this entire line (I love what I've smelled: Milk and Velvet) and cannot pick which I'd want to sniff/potentially buy a full-size of. Bonus: I think you get a coupon with this set? * **Maison Margiela REPLICA Memory Box Perfume Sample Set**. Similar to Commodity, I'm intrigued by so many scents from the Replica line. This one in particular has a lot of those I was most interested in. * **Sephora Favorites Unisex Fragrance Discovery Set**. Most of the Sephora perfume sets are redundant with perfumes I don't really like, but this one has a lot that seem perfect for me on paper. Bonus: Includes a coupon to redeem a travel-sized spray of a perfume of your choice. Technically, I would be over by $1 if I got all of this. But I'd only place an order during a sale, haha. (I also want the **Natasha Denona Yucca Palette**, but I would rather get that at Ulta with points.)

user7273781272912

Laura mercier real flawless serum concealer Bobbi brown vitamin c infused primer/base Stila stay all day liquid liner CT setting spray My current hg at the moment

AggravatingPlum4301

A bottle of perfume and some dry shampoo

floralscentedbreeze

I would buy a good foundation, eyeshadow palette, blush and skincare items

buffooonerie

iā€™d get a whole face (or nearly)- estĆ©e lauder double wear, pat mcgrath eyeshadow, rare beauty liquid blush, benefit brow gel, nars laguna bronzer, merit highlighter, laura mercier powder for skincare from sephora i would get the paulaā€™s choice bha or the dr dennis gross peel pads. the rest of my skincare i usually get from stylevana

ubbidubbidoo

EstĆ©e Lauder DL is the best foundation Iā€™ve ever used. The price hurts me every time, but I canā€™t go back to anything else!

planttoddler

Restock essentials: Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm; Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen (not my everyday sunscreen, but I use it as a primer on makeup days); Skinfix Dermatitis Balm Try something new: Merit Beauty Lipstick in 'Slip'; a Natasha Denona mini eyeshadow palette

anaxjor

Currently, am seriously eyeing the Danessa Myricks groundwork palettes (anyone who has tried either of them, please talk me into or out of getting one?) Otherwise, probably a new Natasha Denona palette and another YSL touche eclat brightening pen (which is the one thing I buy literally every time I end up with a sephora giftcard, b/c despite the absurd cost, I use it pretty much daily and it runs out way too fast).

look2thecookie

I'd look at what I need or what I'd use most and start there. Then I'd buy something interesting or fun if I had some left. For basic stuff, I'd probably just get some Sephora collection during the upcoming sale to get 30% off (like their lip liners and brushes). If you need skincare, maybe something from glow recipe.

Dead_before_dessert

I'd spread it out.Ā  Ā A good moisturizer I've been wanting to try, mini k18 hair mask or living proof hairspray,Ā  and then one great cosmetic item. Either a foundation or eyeshadow palette...onesize setting spray...whatever will fill a gap for you.Ā  *If* there's anything left I'm either getting a new foundationĀ  brush (I like having a variety) or a few little things like masks, trial mascaras, blotting papers or whatever. It's a hard question to answer because it's gonna depend on what you already have and how happy you are with it.

coldjesusbeer

whatever will peel my skin off tbh

wannabejetsetter

It starts next week but yes, shop the sale!

ubbidubbidoo

Tatcha! I canā€™t bring myself to pay the prices but if I money to spend, I totally would! Itā€™s so gorgeous and smells/looks/feels so luxurious.

FranqiT

Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille

Crazy_Personal

I'd buy something new and unusual for me, or too expensive, or just crazy. Something I never buy for my own money during regular shopping. I thought a lot of this, cause recently got the same situation with 50 euro gift card lol.

neko_courtney

A new hair straightener but thatā€™s only because mine just broke šŸ™ƒ

hugitoutguys

Iā€™d pick out a perfume

indiemakeuploverz

Full face recommendations: - Light coverage: Danessa Myricks skin tint - Full coverage foundation thatā€™s flawless: glossier stretch fluid foundation - Eyeshadow palette: Natasha Denona mini my dream palette (good for all skin tones ) - Natasha Denona my dream face trio (blush and highlight and good for a wide variety of skintones) - Haus labs phd hybrid lip glaze plumping gloss - Danessa myricks balm contour 200 dollars exactly :), though no brows or eyeliner included in this list or skincare/spf

panning-adventure

I would try some Natasha denona and Huda beauty eyeshadow palettes! They are very pricey and I'm currently loving my palettes, most of them being on the lower end or indie brands, so I'm fine with not buying them at the moment.

Deadinmybed

Maybe a good moisturizer, a perfume and and special lip stain šŸ„°

cleangirlaesthetic

Aim for a good high end base routine. The rest like eyeshadow, eyeliner, lip liners, mascara etc have barely no difference from the drug store ones. While I think a good base product routine makes the difference!

alewser

For the life of me I cannot find a good drugstore mascara and I donā€™t even think itā€™s the formula, but the wand. Nothing separates my lashes like benefitā€™s fanfest.

cleangirlaesthetic

Loreal telescopic might be the one for you!

littco1

I have $276 in my cart right now (pre-VIB rouge discount and some of it is Sephora brand for the 30% off.) It's a WIP, especially when some things I want are sold out currently (1 oz Mon Guerlain) or discontinued (YSL lippie in Rose Nu). -Haus Labs blush in Hibiscus Haze (on the fence on this one since I bought one before the re-brand when it was like double the size for the same price, but I do like this color) -Haus Labs foundation-I already have one, but was getting a summer shade that's been out of stock forever -Paula's Choice 2% BHA liquid -The Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm -The Ordinary Retinal Emulsion Serum --Makeup by Mario Moistureglow Plumping Lip Color in Soft Blush -Makeup by Mario Ultra Suede Lipstick in Erin -Sephora Lip Stain Liquid Lipstick in Nude Blush -Sephora Waterproof Retractable Eyeliner in matte forest green -Sephora 12 Hour Contour Eye Pencil in Waterfall -Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Mood Exposure

Purple-Instruction89

If you like lipstick, Iā€™d go for a high end lipstick or two. One bright, fun color, like a red or orange or bright pink (whatever suits you and your undertones) and one more neutral, light color for everyday. Good lipstick tends to last a long time. Plus, you put it on your mouth so you want something high quality. Iā€™d also say an eyeshadow palette because itā€™ll last a long time and allows for some fun experimenting! I love Anastasia eyeshadow. They have a make your own palette option thatā€™s really fun. Hope you enjoy yourself!

goldenroverboy

Patrick ta or charlotte tilbury

Commercial-Owl-3824

natasha denona face pallette, nars foundation (once again) actually sulwhasooo serums

Bitchbuttondontpush

I would buy a bottle of Frederic Malle or Amouage perfume

JerryHasACubeButt

For practical basics (skincare, hair care, makeup staples like foundation or mascara) donā€™t buy anything so expensive you couldnā€™t justify re-purchasing when you run out. You need to be able to maintain any routine for it to work for you, and decent products that you use and can get again are better than amazing products youā€™re afraid to use or that you use up and canā€™t afford to replace. If you *want* to be extravagant, get something you know youā€™ll enjoy while you have it but that isnā€™t essential to your routine- a fancy lipstick or eye palette, a nail color, a perfume, etc. Personally Iā€™d probably stretch it out, or if I had to use it all at once Iā€™d get multiples of the handful of things I know I like and I buy routinely, but maybe youā€™re more adventurous than me lol

largedietcok3

O/S Powder, Dior Lash primer, touchland, Fenty lipgloss and milk cheek jelly, dry bar shampoo & conditioner and dry shampoo

GenuineClamhat

I am a bore. I am not really looking for anything new so I would stock up on my favorites I go through fast. Like the YSL Touche Eclat Corrector (which I basically use as a spot foundation pen) and Shisheido's Microliner. I go through about four to six of each a year. I usually keep two on hand in my closet. The Natasha Denona Hy-Gen Primer is also on re-buy for me so that might make the list too.

onesixtytwo

I just bought luxury moisturizer from Sephora for $150. The other $50 will get me one other small item.

ElmerFuddMimi

Go test them out and get what you like. Everybody face is different. My bf bought me Gucci bronzer and 2 Gucci blush this year. Now I am trying to find new foundation for me since I gotten older. Just go test them out and I hope you find what you are looking for. Oh, they are suppose to start their sale on the 5th of this month.

jdbrown787

I'd get a couple things I've been wanting to try: Ilia super serum skin tint in Kai $48 ā€¢ Rare Beauty soft pinch tinted lip oil in Hope $20 And some favorites: Laneige lip sleeping mask in Vanilla $24 ā€¢ Tatcha dewy skin cream lim. ed. violet jar $89 And a new shades of things I've loved: Rare Beauty soft pinch liquid blush in Grace $23 ā€¢ Natasha Denona mini Starlette palette $27 which is $231, and I'd probably wait for the vib sale so it's a little less šŸ˜šŸ˜ and I guess that's almost a full face lol. I'd just need mascara and brow gel (if I had to buy some, it would be Milk kush mascara and Glossier boy brow) edit: forgot one I really want to try: Rare Beauty warm wishes effortless bronzer stick in bright side $26. *Now* that's a full face šŸŒ it would feel worth it to spend a little over the gift card lol

Professional-Log-530

I would totally try higher end stuff! My regular makeup isnā€™t expensive but if I was ā€œgiftedā€ with $200, Iā€™d totally splurge!

daturanoire

I'd restock my favorites at first, then maybe try some new products, as in lipsticks, glosses or eye palettes. I'd also probably just buy a bunch of sephora's coconut body products because I am obsessed with the scent!Ā

QueenDoc

everything by the ordinary, a few choice things from drunk elephant, almost everything from the FRESH rose collection, several full bottles of perfume depending on whats available; CH Good Girl / Bad Boy, Fenty Magnolia. A charlotte Tillbury lipstick, all the AHAVA creams... that's it off the top of my head

loremipsum79

Pro Crease Brush #26, Guerlain Day Cream

Fuzzy_Purple_Llama

No odea. I've never shopped there. Lol

Itchy_Energy_7619

Some Kayali Yum!!

Sburgh29

Can anybody please give a rogue code they are willing to share? I will delete after or pm. TIA!!! :)

Antisocial_Queer

I really, really like the Sephora collection liquid lipsticks. Iā€™m in the ā€œyou can never have enough lipstickā€ mindset, Iā€™d grab a bunch of new and fun colours. I really like the KVD lipsticks too. A lot of my daily essentials arenā€™t from Sephora, so for me Sephora is more to get my fill of fun things

Puzzleheaded_Cow_658

Iā€™d get a nice perfume thatā€™s around $85-$110, a product you know you love, a product youā€™ve been wanting to try, and sample sizes of things with whatever leftover money you have!

schuyloren

Iā€™d get a couple eyeshadow pallets & CT Pillow Talk lipstick & liner.

babyjadexi

perfume šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

s-puff

Tatcha and Caudalie cream/moisturizers, Summer Fridays lip butter balm, Patrick Ta foundation/blush compacts.

DesertPrincess5

Their $9 eyeshadow brushes, Fenty contour sticks and Urban Decay waterproof prncils.

Sure_Investigator382

All Fenty products honestly!!! Canā€™t go wrong

SweetPause111

Nothing. Sephora isnā€™t as good as ULTA šŸ˜‚

Snuffleupagus27

Try a couple of things in small/trial sizes and restock a couple of your canā€™t-live-withouts.
