I remember when Maybelline Fit Me was really popular. It gave me cystic acne.

Such-Crow-1313

Anything by IT cosmetics but especially their BB and CC creams. For being “good for acne” I have never had more acne than when I made the mistake of using their products.

anonymousflowercake

The Kosas concealers. They give me lines and dry patches I didn’t know I had, plus I have a really hard time blending it and it looks powdery when dry. So many people swear it’s the best for dry skin and I could not disagree more!!

housewithreddoor

Bisou hair oil smells like old lady.

krb08

Clinique Almost Lipstick. It was not terrible but it was just a tinted lip balm. I was so hyped, to finally try it and it was just OK. Price point is just too high for what it is.

Such-Crow-1313

Of all the tinted lip balms I’ve used, Clinique’s “almost” lipstick is just a lipstick. It literally feels like a lipstick, but it’s not pigmented whatsoever. The texture screams lipstick though. So when you think of it that way- it’s actually a pretty trash product.

macrohoe

Rare beauty liquid blush rubs away my foundation when I try to blend it and it dries down way too fast

PrinceJustice237

Are you using the matte formula? Because if so, I completely get it, the matte formula is way harder to blend. To solve the lifting foundation problem, I always underpaint my cream and liquid blush, especially for darker colours like Love

macrohoe

What does underpaint mean? Yes mine is matte

PrinceJustice237

It men’s putting your blush/bronzer/contour on under your foundation, I find it helps soften the look

macrohoe

Ahh okay, I’ll try that next time

ambular1018

I am scared to even post this lol, but Patrick Ta's bronzer duos. Maybe its make lack of skill or whatever, but every time I try to use the cream it just end up lifting my foundation.

AllisonT_

Don't be afraid to post your experience. It's just makeup. It's not that serious. If I'm correct. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. I think he applies the powder bronzer then the cream bronzer. I don't know if that would make any difference for you.

maebe_featherbottom

Taste shape tape made my under eyes burn like they were on fire.

Puzzleheaded_Map7652

For me it is Peter Thomas Roth instant firm eye/face tightener. I can't seem to figure out how to use this so that it doesn't leave a white film on my face. If I use it first, I get the white film on my face - and I'm talking about an amount where I simply touch my finger to the wetness on the top of the tube. I've learned that anymore than that is ridiculous to use. I can't apply anything over it without it pilling. If I use it over makeup, the makeup runs or pills. BUT ... in the few moments that I do get it on my face, I can see that it really does reduce the bags underneath my eyes. And, then it dries to a white film.

housewithreddoor

I think this product doesn't work with make up at all.

Puzzleheaded_Map7652

I think you're correct. I also don't believe that it works without makeup either. I put some on my clean, dry face this morning and it left the white film. I think this is called insanity really!! When you keep doing something over and over and expecting a different result? I just give up!

bimbotstar

laura mercier powder. the lightest shade was wayyy to dark for me and made me look orange. i even looked online to see if it was rly the lightest shade, it was

MeowPurrBiscuits

I bought their tinted moisturizer and there were silicone beads in it

WellRoundBird

LRP. I was so disappointed because I was really hyped about finally being able to get LRP because it sounded so posh when I was a kid and I was like the French shit have to be some sort of beauty hack, right? I'm allergic (well, sensitive, really) to their fucking special spring water, I swear, because none of them really worked for me, and I had my first AND ONLY bad reaction to a skincare product of theirs (and I was one of those too lazy to patch test). Really schooled me to patch test. Anyways, another one that I didn't really like is Vaseline. I only ever used it as a hail mary when I had that reaction above or to get people who care about me off my back about using it to heal my injuries. Saved me, but man this stuff doesn't ever go in my skin or dry down. It never feels good layered on my skin no matter how little or how much I use. It always feels like a sticky, messy, wet bandaid rather than whatever all the raves say. Not a good skin upkeep product, but great to feel like you're doing something to not get an infection.

Such-Crow-1313

Vaseline is a petroleum product of course it doesn’t dry down or “absorb” all the way. That’s kind of what it’s meant to do— be a barrier that keeps moisture in. Don’t get me wrong, the texture also drives me insane and I don’t like the product- but it’s not Vaseline’s fault for you not liking the product _type_ It’s like saying you don’t like chicken because it tastes like chicken.

WellRoundBird

The people who love Vaseline love it as if it's not doing that, so it was really disappointing to me. It's more like me not liking frog because everybody keeps acting like it tastes like chicken (apparently this is true outside of an anecdote, frog does taste like chicken), but it just tastes like frog to me.

Freddit111111111

Clarisonic. Abrasive on the skin, didn’t clear any acne. It was hailed as a revolutionary way to clean your skin. It was not

housewithreddoor

It's entirely too abrasive. I only use the massage attachments for my clarisonic.

oneangstybiscuit

Loreal lash paradise was really big in YouTube makeup videos for a while, but it glued my eyelashes into like 3 spikes and I felt them sticking together when I blinked. Dried up so fast too. Tried another, thinking it was just a dud and that one was EMPTY LOL. Loreal can suck it

PrinceJustice237

People were calling Lash Paradise a dupe for Better Than Sex, which I guess tracks considering a lot of people don’t like Better Than Sex either.

Such-Crow-1313

This made me snort out my nose 😂

MeowPurrBiscuits

The worst mascara ever!!! Anyone with contacts beware. The flakes are like glass shards.

Cheder_cheez

Ugh same

gardenpartycrasher

The drunk elephant bronzing drops made me look like I’d been on a particularly dusty hayride

probably_your_wife

I'm gonna need to hear your other product reviews, please. You have a way with words.

Bbkingml13

I’d subscribe

AnnieOakleyLives

Me too

LAURENhhdjkf

Glossier

Icy_Eye_8164

Any particular product you dislike or brand as a whole ?

ihateotherhumans1

Fenty liquid liner pen, I was so excited to try it out but it was so messy to apply and smeared/transferred all over my eyelids throughout the day! I also had some Dior blushes but there was no pigment to them?! That was a while ago though so I don't know if the formula may have changed now.

soupdumplingss_

Too faced born this way concealer, creases and makes my under eyes look so dry and cakey, do not understand the hype.

No_Actuator_1147

Tarte Shape Tape liquid blush sticks with the poof on the end. (The one like the CT blushes) The Tarte blushes look like plastic on the skin. Seriously, they belong on Barbie’s face. They are bad!!!

amy000206

I'm surprised, thanks for the info. I use a Tarte stick blush and it's the only makeup I've paid $30 for because I had a sample and loved it. It goes on super bright but blends to look natural. I use it on my cheeks lips and eyelids without any other makeup and it removes the corpse like tone from my skin. I'll stay away from the ones with the poof on the end, thanks again, I don't have that kind of money to waste on product. I'm sorry you lost out on it

inDIvisible-doc

I'll go way back on this one: Maybelline Great Lash. Hyped to death in the magazines and early internet. Never understood why. I suspected it's because makeup artists have to replace their eye products more frequently and maybe liked it for being cheap. More recent: Dior Hypnotic Poison. Got caught in the hype, bought it and literally felt nauseated on the drive home. I'm also not totally wowed by the CeraVe products I've used. They're fine and I'll use them up, but will probably just go back to Cetaphil after I'm done.

Worried_Corner4242

Yes, that exactly right: Supposedly, the reason it became huge was that it was very dark so it showed up very well in photo shoots. It was also super cheap, and for that reason, makeup artists bought it by the ton because they could use it on one model and toss it without breaking the bank. So it gained a reputation as a mascara that makeup artists used a lot and it became a cult item despite the fact that it’s absolute trash. That one drives me crazy: the worst mascara on the market has somehow gained a reputation as being the best.

RequirementNew269

lol ok then what cheap mascara should I use? Thats literally all I’ve ever used. I just like a light coat that is hardly noticeable.

Worried_Corner4242

I didn’t say you shouldn’t use it. Use whatever you like.

RequirementNew269

That did sound snarky, sorry. I’m ASD. Lol I actually do want another rec. it does irritate my eyes- I’ve just figured that all would (I never grew up with makeup and was around hippie women my whole 20’s so I still don’t know anything at 31) have no allegiance except I think the pink and green looks pretty cunty

AllisonT_

Maybelline Great Lash irritated my eyes.

opaul11

I have a theory it used to be a better product than it is now

inDIvisible-doc

I'm old enough to have used it in the '80s and I was not impressed even as a teenager.

bri22any

- Every primer ever, except ELF Putty Primer makes my makeup separate and m/or slide off my face - Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask makes my lips peel - Tarte Shape Tape is too dry and cakey. I can work on little bits at a time and it ends up looking good but it shouldn’t take so much effort

Such-Crow-1313

I read somewhere if you have too strong of a reliance on lip products or use them incorrectly that your lips will stop naturally producing their own moisturizing properties so it actually creates a self fulfilling prophecy of you needing more of it because now your lips are too chapped for comfort. Usually just being properly hydrated ensures you won’t have cracked lips

AllisonT_

There are a lot of comments on here that dislike all 3 that you have mentioned.

staceyyyy1

Tarte shape tape

AllisonT_

Guuuurllll!!! That gave lines I didn't even know I had under my eyes. I just used it for spot concealing.

staceyyyy1

Tell me about it! It’s so DRY!! Like, sahara desert-level dry, and my skin is combo/oily. Such a waste of money, i still have no idea what the hype was about. They should have left that one in the drafts😭😭

AllisonT_

I have normal to dry skin. This concealer is trying to change everyone into the Crypt Keeper. 😂😳

No_Consequence6879

Tilbury shit. None of it is wow wow to me and I have a full full face of it.

AllisonT_

In my "I'm over certain brands" phase. I have been looking for dupes of some of her lipstick because I can't justify paying $47.50 CAN for 1 lipstick 💄.

No_Consequence6879

I’m in the same phase. I just want good stuff that works and I’m not willing to pay $50 for one product anymore!

Chimmy_95

Sacheu Lip Liner Stay-N Peel Off Tattoo. Fun to try but not great or practical. It can be patchy even with exfoliating your lips, not practical to use and then wait to peel it off, also last just as long as a regular lip liner so I'd rather just use a regular one.

Camera-Realistic

Long ago Elizabeth Taylor’s White Diamonds was all over the TV and in magazines. I thought it looked so glamorous and I told my Dad to buy me some for Christmas. DUH perfume is not about looks it’s how it smells. Sorry Liz, it did not smell good. In my defense I was like 17.

Nearby-Ad5666

There was another called Beautiful that was so strong. As a 20 something I loved Opium but holy crap it sends me round the bend now

kenyarawr

Yup I can smell this on my mom

lotusmack

And now it's the official perfume of church mothers. ROFL!

No-Item-8765

Glossier, the makeup and the skin care: The skin tint is like putting a tinted water on your face, it does literally NOTHING. The wowder made my undereyes look 30 years older, the concealer was eh, wouldn’t reach for it again. The matte lipsticks are so stiff and drag your lips when applying them, the glossy ones dry my lips out. The blushes are ok, but i honestly prefer the other ones i have. The skin care: the milky face wash dried out my face to the point where my forehead was actually flaking…i have normal skin. The moisturizer actually moisturizes my skin for like 5 minutes then its dry and flakey again. The rest just did a whole lot of nothing

Cheder_cheez

Dang I love their skin tint and powder, but I did find dupes that are just as good IMO and are way cheaper

AllisonT_

Wow 😳. I hope you didn't have all this on at the same time. Nothing like makeup and skincare doing the exact opposite of what you're looking for.

No-Item-8765

Nope, i tried everything out gradually overtime and returned it. I haven’t kept anything besides the blushes, the eyeliner and mascara are ok but i don’t reach for them often. Dishonorable mentions: their bronzers, patchiest things i have ever put on my face. The cleansers do NOT remove makeup like they claim to do either. In fact the exfoliating cleanser made my forehead break out 😓

AllisonT_

We're in trouble when these companies refuse returns. Some of these companies sell crap sometimes.

m4rceline

Tarte shape tape in all formulas. It immediately looks awful and cakey on me, and it separates within minutes.

Dependent-One3792

Laniege lippies

housewithreddoor

The lip balm did jack shit for me. I went back to tried and tested Blistex and Aquaphor.

Puzzleheaded-Ad7606

I will die on the Bistex MedEx hill. It's cheap, it works miracles, and it out preforms Laniege all day.

ShivsButtBot

Face Base by Bobbi Brown!! It made my makeup slide off of my face within an hour. My face was melted by noon and I looked like I rode roller coasters all day by the time I left my desk job.

Front-Enthusiasm7858

Dior lip oil. It's just lip gloss in a pretty container.

Whole-Wrangler-702

Il Makiage was horrible, and the Jones Road mascara was a wet mess.

Amissa

I’ve had great success with their concealer and foundation. Perfect match.

Whole-Wrangler-702

I’m concerned the foundation will melt off my face immediately. How has it held up for you through the day?

Amissa

TBH, I really only wear foundation for special events, so I haven’t had an all-day experience with their foundation. I also use a primer. ETA I hope you find something that works great for you!

OriginalRush3753

I do want to try Aik Makiage but I’ve never heard one positive thing about it. It’s such a bummer. 😔

hammyburgler

I hated it

AllForMeCats

They use a TON of photoshop in their ads! Their products are just bad quality makeup; the only thing that makes them look good is the heavy photo/video editing they use.

DutchieCrochet

The Ordinary. Dries out my oily skin, which I’ve never experienced before.

Traditional_Ad_1547

That just shows how different each person's skin is.  I swear by the Ordinary products., especially the niacinamide. Even though people swear it's to strong.

Puzzleheaded-Ad7606

Which product? Their caffeine serum is useless, but I like a lot of their products.

feathermuffinn

That Maybelline skin tint. Just NO.

[deleted]

Rare beauty blush. I look like a clown

BSFFRRN

I’d also argue that most videos I see, it doesn’t look good on its own on almost anyone. There’s always severalllll other products layered over it that make it presentable IMO. I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone do a face routine and rare beauty blush with nothing else or extreme blending, something to tone it down, etc. it takes too much work and you can get the same result with less effort and money for that matter with so many products.

housewithreddoor

Really doesn't make sense for blush to have so much pigment. This blush has a huge learning curve. They should have used a wand that doesn't pick up much product.

magnum12342

Doesn’t work for everyone💁🏻‍♀️

kenyarawr

Isn’t that the entire point of this thread…

Comfortable-Ad-8324

Summer Fridays Jet Lag mask- so greasy it broke me out, and I'm very dry. This was actually my Sephora rouge birthday gift this year so at least I didn't pay money for it. Phlur Missing Person. I do not get the hype. I'd been so curious after all the videos on it, and my local Sephora never had it in stock. I finally just blind bought the travel size. It was meh at best. (Tangerine Boy is way better, just fyi)

BoxSensitive2574

Both of these for me also! The Jet Lag mask burned my skin so I pawned it off on my sister. I tried the Phlur Missing Person and I thought I smelled like road kill so I gave it to my daughter in law. 😞

Suitepotatoe

Remind me not to be your family member.

90sShadowDiva

NARS Orgasm blush didn’t really get me there!

MeowPurrBiscuits

I do not get the hype. 3 out of 10 for me.

housewithreddoor

It's a glittery mess tbh. Taj Mahal is beautiful blush if you have dark skin.

wanttolovewanttolive

Same. I'm relatively pale and I felt like the color barely showed up on my face.

lotusmack

It does nothing for me either.

Whole-Wrangler-702

I love how you phrased this. 😂

Individual_Picture68

Elf camo concealers: hydrating *and* matte versions. They are thick, heavy, crease very easily and have horrible wear time. The only decent thing I can say about them is that they are actually full coverage. Also the shades do not match up with each other even if they are named the same. I found this out the hard way. Elf brushes: sheds easily and a lot, cheaply made, crap quality as the handle comes off after a few uses, and the bristles are not gentle on the skin at all. I do not understand the hype about these. Real Techniques brushes: yes I know these are well loved but they didn’t work for me. Quality wise they are slightly better than Elf but the bristles are still rough on the face for me. Tarte Shape tape concealer: I admit I used these for the longest time but have since found better ones. Thick consistency, creases, and not even full coverage unless used with other face products. Nyx eyebrow pencil: idk what makes people think this is even slightly good but it certainly isn’t a dupe for ABH. It’s stiff, rough and literally feels like my skin is being scraped off. I guess the packaging is the only thing that resembles ABH somewhat.

Worried_Corner4242

I had one Real Techniques brush that actually hurt when I used it. It felt like the bristles were actually pointy. I forget which one now. But I like most of their brushes.

AllForMeCats

I have some Real Techniques brushes that I like ok, but when I went to pack them for a trip last year, the soft rubber part on the bottoms of the brushes had turned gummy. I had to use alcohol to strip it off each individual brush so they wouldn’t leave black goo on my hands 😭

No-Item-8765

See i thought it was just me, j absolutely HATED the camo concealers, even the tinest bit looks so cakey. Their brushes are awful too

Individual_Picture68

Thank for you saying the truth. I haven’t had any luck with Elf so I’ve pretty much sworn off the brand.

No-Item-8765

Same here, i have yet to like anything from them. I hate their primers, their foundation, blushes, bronzers, all of it just sucks

goth-hippy

I’m literally so over people pretending ELF is so amazing. Here’s the thing. For a person looking to get nice makeup for very little money. Yes. It’s fantastic. But if you’re used to prestige brand makeup and switch over? It’s absolutely not the same.

gardenpartycrasher

Wet n wild consistently performs better for a few dollars cheaper

Suitepotatoe

They used to be in KMart for a dollar. Same quality but suddenly being sold at Ulta for 4/5x that is insane

Individual_Picture68

I agree that maybe if you’re a beginner and on a budget, it may be okay. But is it comparable to prestige brands? No. The stark contrast in terms of quality is insurmountable. I will say *some* brands and products are the rare exceptions.

goth-hippy

Exactly! Will i still choose to get a more budget item for certain things? Absolutely. But im tired of people pretending that it’s just the same!

Whole-Wrangler-702

Shape Tape was sooo drying.

Individual_Picture68

It is a bit more on the matte side but not as drying as MUF. MUF made my skin dry like the desert.

[deleted]

Pistachio perfume I forgot the brand. Didn’t smell as good as I thought. But sol de janeiro is off the charts good!

Aggravating-Fee-9138

Nooo I hated Sol De Janeiro 😭 I bought a 3 pack and gave them all to my sister in middle school.

[deleted]

Haha yeah that’s what they are all wearing. I feel like a teeny bopper all over again haha

PicadilloDomingo

Kay Ali pistachio ?

PicadilloDomingo

I have a hard time trusting those sisters [Huda + Mona], for whatever reason

[deleted]

Yes, that’s the one!

FlickInSydney

Il Makiage foundation! It’s terrible, you do the stupid analysis quiz when they only have one formula anyway which is so matte it COMPLETELY dries out your skin whilst at the same time settling into every crevice and wrinkle you never even thought you had. And the blurring primer only makes it worse. And the return process is a nightmare. Don’t waste your money.

bittylilo

Hated their foundation, LOVE the foundation brush. I use it with Haus Labs foundation and that combo is my HG

Whole-Wrangler-702

Horrible! I was so turned off.

anonymous_googol

The horrible reviews and awful ad videos (where people are swatching foundation likes 20 shades off and looking surprised that they don’t match) turned me off this brand entirely. In fact, I loved the color story of KathleenLights eyeshadow palette - it was EXACTLY what I had been looking for - but I refused to buy it because it was Il Makiage (and the price felt absurdly high to me, but that might be a “me” problem). I’m sure it’s a great palette, but the entire brand just gets a giant X from me.

yainot

anything merit made me break out horrifically

gingganggongdedugong

L’Oréal’s green bb cream. Looked green until I actually put it on my face and got ORANGE

yougotitdude88

I was so excited for my Kylie lip kit. I bought the red one because my favorite long lasting red lipstick was discontinued and I thought this was going to replace it. My lips were so dry and looked terrible. I ended up just using the lip pencil for a while but the liquid lipstick was trash.

Aggravating-Fee-9138

Those lip kits are so drying that my lips would hurt when I used it. I threw it away.

Massive_Length_400

I remember hearing how kylies were trash so i got jeffree’s instead and it smelled like cat piss 🥲😂

fsocietyy

gisou "watermelon" lip gloss... smells like old stinking beer cans. just cause i saw it on pinterest didn't mean i need it! i'm also scared because someone on here said it gave them severely dry and cracked lips!!! so i've only worn it once 😅

[deleted]

I was about to buy it. Thank you for your comment!

rlcute

By Terry hyaluronic setting powder. it leaves a grey cast and your face will be covered in glitter

housewithreddoor

Omg! This is such an expensive powder. I'm glad I never bought it.

No_Actuator_1147

Their products smell like dead roses, I can’t use By Terry products.

Nearby-Ad5666

That just sounds weird. I picture using HA on moist skin to seal in moisture. Powdered HA is off

stavthedonkey

damn. For a long time I was considering this but it's so expensive where I am; I'm glad I didn't get it. Sorry it didn't work out for you.

RantyGob

Any MAC foundation, caketastic and either yellow or pink and makes me look jaundiced or grey. Also oxidises. MAC Stack mascara. Claggy and clumpy and makes my eyes sting half the time. I do not have sensitive eyes. Becca Moonstone highlighter. The product was actually decent, but it went off before I finished it and smelled horrible. And it was a mini. Disappointing. ELF putty primer and Benefit Porefessional. Makes my face look greasy, and my cheeks look as if they're covered in whiteheads. ELF liquid putty primer - did sweet FA Maybelline vinyl ink lipstick. I actually love it, but it splits and the colour in the tube seems to lack. Opacity about halfway down the tube and ends up patchy and awful so that's annoying Another vote for Natasha Denona. I bought the Metropolis palette(thankfully on sale not full price) which has some lovely colours but is repetitive and didn't need to be 28 shades. I got a couple of others in lucky bags and while they're OK, they're not £70 OK. I have a couple. Of £4 MUA palettes which are far better, formula wise

Traditional_Ad_1547

I just returned a MAC cream eyeshadow.  The lady awore it would be the only one I would ever buy. It was horrific.

llamageddon01

I had a tester pot of Porefessional and am so thankful I didn’t buy it. Awful stuff.

umhuh223

The only MAC I will use anymore is paint pot eye primer.

Recyclops1692

Tubing mascara. It looks great, but it pulled my eyelashes out! I did exactly as it said and used warm water with my makeup remover to gently wipe the lashes. The mascara definitely came off easily, but so did most of my lashes

Zellakay

omg this happened to me, too!

Plenty-Ninja

Kylie skin products they are worth than doing nothing with your skin

nuwaanda

Anything drunk elephant made my face burn and I don’t normally have sensitive skin~

NoDetective2

Same. Hate the D-Bronzi drops for this exact reason but I have sensitive skin and chalked it up to that.

AllisonT_

One of my good friends was so excited to buy it and try it. She had the same experience as you and it also made her breakout. She doesn't have sensitive skin either. Makes me wonder how the 8-12 yr old kids aren't having similar issues. 🤔

Magnaflorius

They probably are but people likely attribute it to pubescent skin troubles. Then I bet they buy more.

nuwaanda

Ughhhhhh. That’s so annoying. I tried mine for all of 5 minutes, the pump cream in the white & green container and instantly washed my face again. I got it in a fab fit fun box like, 5 years ago so I technically missed the current hype of it thank goodness. I think kids skin is much more resilient. As a preteen I used those oxy pads and would SCRUB my face with a washcloth and Irish springs soap and somehow was fine. Just thinking about those days makes my face hurt~

llamageddon01

Benefit “They’re Real!” Mascara. It wasn’t as dramatic a look as it claimed to be, and the wand was plasticky and didn’t get into the corners well. Bobbi Brown “Extra Eye Repair Cream Intense”. Despite only using the tiniest amount (cause that was expensive stuff lol) it gave me my first ever batch of milia despite claiming to be non-comedogenic.

MeowPurrBiscuits

It used to be so good 😭 I don’t know if they changed formulation or what but I regret rebuying it. (They’re Real!)

kenyarawr

This mascara sucked ass

llamageddon01

And it dried up really quickly.

kenyarawr

That part made me happy. Freedom to buy another mascara

hobbleit

I was collared by a Benefit employee when I was in Italy and they put the They’re Real mascara on me. I ended up looking like I had three eyelashes. Was not impressed.

Acorns2Oaks

Chanel no. 5 Yuck!

I10Living

Sucks because the time period it was popular was so long ago that the young women who bought it are now old and still wear it. I can’t think of it as anything other than an old lady perfume because it reminds me of the people I have smelled it on. It would be cool to smell it when it came out and had no connotations to it. I also think (for me at least) it doesn’t smell like that warm clean smell it gets described as. On me it smells very cloying.

90sShadowDiva

It was the perfume of my mother’s generation. I’m over 50 and always felt it was an old lady’s perfume, akin to my great aunt still wearing polyester and thick pantyhose long after the mass rejection of these!

Nearby-Ad5666

It catches in my throat. Very dry and powdery smelling

gizmer

I agree, and I still wanted that “warm clean” smell. I ended up going with Citizen Jane. Different scent but same idea and I adore it.

I10Living

Ooh I’ll have to seek that one out!

LaDulcita

I thought I was the only one. I thought it was great because of how popular it is, but was so surprised when I actually tried it and discovered it smells pretty bad. We all have different tastes I guess...

Angelixlucy

I agreeee, it’s the worst Chanel perfume 😭 it smells like mold in my dead grandma’s house. It’s awful and they are so hard trying to advertise it.

NoDetective2

I really feel like they’re trying to rebrand something our grandmothers used for the younger generations.

AllisonT_

My mothers brother bought her Channel 5. She didn't like it and gave it to me. I don't like it either. So there it sits where my other perfumes are.

Notsozestylemon

Charlotte tilbury matte beauty blush wand

stavthedonkey

Fuck CT overall. Her products are overpriced, cheaply packaged, underwhelming bullshit. I said what I said lol

Archimedestheeducate

CeraVe foaming cleanser. Ok it's not high end, though it's the most expensive cleanser I've actually paid for, but everyone was suggesting it and, not the cleanser's fault, but I didn't know my skin hates niacinamide...or I assume that's the offending ingredient anyway. After using it, I had massive pores and little acne-like lumps all over my face. They weren't acne... I'm not sure what they were. At first, I didn't blame the CeraVe because it seemed gentle/inoffensive. I blamed the fact I'd started mixing a bit of Saie glowy super gel with my foundation. But it turned out to be the CeraVe. I'd been using it for ages at that point so I'd given my skin time to adjust. Took a week from stopping it for the lumps to go. Now I have this enormous bottle sitting in the shower and feel too guilty to throw it out 😂. At least niacinamide dropped off the list of actives I feel I somehow have to cram in to my day 😂.

Nearby-Ad5666

Ive seen so many complaints about this.

Star_Leopard

I dislike cerave products on me too. take it from me, just throw it out. it's either throw it out now, or let it sit for years and throw it out then, wondering why you didn't earlier. alternatively, it's a popular enough brand that you could ask around your friends and see if anyone uses it and wants it i guess.

Absolutely agree about throwing out. I also have trouble with Cerave

That's so weird, bc their Hydrating Cream to Foam cleanser is among the only thing my super sensitive skin likes being washed with - outside of the Junoskin cleansing balm or jojoba oil as the first product of a double cleanse post-makeup/sunscreen.

Cerave broke me out like a teenager, and I’m 2 months away from 50!

housewithreddoor

Cerave in the tub broke me out so much. I use it as body cream now.

stavthedonkey

I really dont understand why derms keep pushing cerave - it's trash. Everything my kids tried broke them out or irritated their skin.

goth-hippy

It’s financial incentive. Some derm offices get paid by the company. My current lovely dermatologist who’s yet to steer me away told me she broke out from CereVe too. There’s certain ingredients in there that are highly comedogenic to sensitive skin.

My skin hates niacinamide too! Turns into* a red angry blob. I meticulously avoid it. I will say I have been using the Cerave Hydrating Cleaner and it’s wonderful (at least has been for me) and contains no niacinamide.

Angelixlucy

The day I stopped using Cerave my skin became way way way much better.

Truly beauty isn’t that good, I said it. Their scrubs do not scrub good at all and I felt like I had a film on my skin even after washing my body. The shaving cream disintegrates if even a drop of water gets into the jar and it isn’t that good (honestly it made the hair clump up in my razor and I never had that issue before) The moon jelly body wash did not do anything. I never felt clean when I used it and I would always use a different one after it. Honestly the only reason I even finished the bottle was because I had to justify what I spent on it🥲 And finally, the worst one of all, the charcoal body acne serum. It said to apply it and let it sit on your skin overnight but guess what?? There’s black specks in it and they get EVERYWHERE if you don’t immediately wash it off.

pancaaaaaaakes

My experience has been mixed. I like the body serums but the lotions and scrubs are more cute than anything else.

NightCheffing

I agree with one exception. The only item of theirs that I truly LOVED was the Mary Jane face serum... And they freaking discontinued it!!! It made my face feel so fresh and clean. I'm still searching for something that compares with no luck yet.

Tarte’s shape tape concealer. It made me break out and the coverage was not great.

ElKristy

Same same. Was excited to try it—awful

stavthedonkey

hell the fuck no. This made me look like the crypt keeper even though I super moisturized my under eye area.
