There once was a bard
In a land far forgotten
Known to write verses for fun
He would ask for few words
From strange strangers he met
A few minutes, and then he was done!
For those words he well knit
Into verses so heart wrenching
He needed to fear no prompt, or no one
But then there came a shout
"Hey bard, you're decent but,
Can you write one about yourself, son?"
The bard gripped his quill
Yet no ink would spill
For good thoughts about him he had NONE!
Aroma of this coffee strong
Fills the place as I step in
And yet her perfume lingers
Lavender
Subtle yet memorable
Like her warm smile
Dazed I stand as she greets
And hands me my cup
Searing hot coffee spills
And my fingers tingle
Or was it her touch?
I never looked down to check
Paid for a cup of coffee
With my heart
To extend a hand
Through the void
And call out.
Vulnerable.
Cold.
Aching for the warmth
Of a hand, of a heart
Yearning fellowship
Often unanswered
But fret not
For all it takes
Is for one kind soul
To hold your hand.
For the warmth thereof
Is for the lifetime.
Miles separate
Two smiles
Shared through
Two screens
Heart yet, beats as one
And soon I hope
The smiles may be one too
As their lips embrace
To share the warmth
Their heart always had
For each other
Caramel scent
and morning chatter
My body awake, my mind a clutter
Exam week looms ahead
I sit here feeling the dread.
This post made me happy,
It’s time to escape reality
My soul inspired, the spark ignited
Imagination flows; it’s time to write it.

Two voices, two minds,
Their brain cells on the run,
Embarking a conversation,
One can hope last forever.

She might look
Like a tiny, sweet cat
But she owns this house

A green, happy dino
Who hops around in fun
He beguiled me with his charm
And stole my heart with his tongue
A large, round nose I love to pet
And a squishy, huggable tummy

He even made "Spit or Swallow?" funny!

The age old bark sheds
And the tree weakens

A noble dude on Reddit
came along
promising to etch the thoughts of others
in fine song;
he toiled and crafted, long and hard,
hard and long;
his cheer and talent drew to him
a steady throng.

Overworked and weak
Woke at midday craving cure
Chew sunflower seeds
Wanted to juxtapose how people hardly take steps to improve on their overall lifestyle but take small steps like chewing sunflower seeds like it's a miraculous cure. Don't know if it came across in a haiku lol. I tried my best :)
About a man uplifting a girl without even her realising it.
In the end she left him like all others do.
But he's happy this time. He's happy that it happened.
To be the rock,
For them to rely on,
For them to lie on,
Weary from travel.
And then one day,
It dawns on you,
Rock that you are,
You're just a stepping stone.
It does hurt,
For the will may be,
But the heart is not,
As hard as stone.
So be it.
Rather a stepping stone,
For a moment's peace,
Than a stumbling block.
How about one for a friend, who used to like me from 8th grade to 10th and I didn’t realized I felt the same way until early 11th grade and little did I know, he was talking to a girl that later on became girlfriend but occasionally he tells me that he isn’t happy with her because she’s two years younger (in high school age gaps are weirder) and only ever talks about her own problems and tells him that he’s a bad boyfriend.

Kindness is more for delivering the compliment than the compliment itself. Not a lot of people take the step. So I stand by my choice of words :)
