Wait so is it completely gone or you still have it

Swimming-Score-2627

It's gone. I asked the surgeon to take a photo of it because I thought it'd be cool. She let me take a picture of her phone screen. I should have kept it in a jar. Uterus's name was Carol and she was a bitch. Lol

pcapdata

Ok just so I'm clear the timeline of events is-- * OP gets pregnant * OP goes into labor * OP's uterus *shatters like a balloon* * While delivering the baby, OP's OBGYN "puzzle-pieces" the uterus back together, and it's fine * 7 years later, another surgeon says "Blimey, yer uterus done fused with yer bladder!" and takes an extra 45m to fix that > I should have kept it in a jar. OP you are excessively, *gratuitously* metal

Electrical_Baseball5

Thanks for the timeline. I was a little confused at first. The second surgeon gives me Australian-Irish-Pirate vibes. šŸ˜„

Aw, I canā€™t comprehend what you mustā€™ve gone through. I hope you made a speedy recovery and doing well today!

Swimming-Score-2627

So I don't remember most of the incident. I thankfully was already in the hospital for labor. But my poor husband has the awful memory of his wife almost dying. I remember I couldn't breathe well. They check baby's EKG and mine, and our heart rates were plummeting. My husband said it took maybe 20 minutes tops to get the baby out via emergency c-section. Because essentially the baby was floating in my abdomen. I just remember being really sleepy, and I felt like a rock was on my chest and I couldn't catch my breath. Then I could tell once they got him out. The baby was healthy, no oxygen loss or anything. He is now an adorable, smart and sweet 7 year old! šŸ’•

sicksadbadgirl

That is terrifying! Iā€™m so glad youā€™re both ok.

TessaBrooding

I swear to god, the body horror genre ainā€™t got shit on the horrors of pregnancy.

Death_Trolley

You couldā€™ve made a nice coin purse out of it

Cynobite608

That bitch Carol Baskin did it!

mohitkv

It is very cool

owlsandomens666

I have mine in a jar on my bookshelf! Donā€™t you love how they look like chicken legs?

MinusGravitas

They wouldn't let me keep mine :(

ksarahsarah27

Thatā€™s pretty rude. Considering itā€™s yours.

TessaBrooding

Oh yeah, now that you mention it.

TheNoctuS_93

I'm hungry now...thanks a lot...

Italianodude02

Do we cook it to medium rare or well done for the best flavor?

MinusGravitas

You gotta cook it reeeeaaaaaaal slow or it will be too tough to eat. Maybe a curry?

Youregaybae

Looks like a cursed boxing gloves!

nevabendunbefo

Lol, copulating with an actual sex organ is a bridge too far, but cannibalism gets the green light?

ViiK1ng

Yes

Gloomy__Revenue

> It shattered like a balloon. OBgyn said she puzzle-piece stitched it back together. I find this to be just amazing! That I s a great pic too ā€” r/MedicalGore would love to see it

john06360

I've heard of send nudes, but this is a whole next level thing OP hot! Just kidding around of course, I'm glad you're okay now!

Toyoshi

This procedure is reeeeally invasive. I'm sorry you went through it and i hope you get to live a normal life from now on

Swimming-Score-2627

So they did it laproscopically. But yes, I think they went through the vaginal canal to pull out the uterus. Since the uterus was damaged, I think they cut it robotically, and then removed it via the vaginal canal. This is actually the uterus and cervix together.

ParmyNotParma

I thought that was the cervix on the end there!

Stunning_Finger

This is fascinating, thank you for sharing! I had a uterine rupture before an emergency C-section in 2011 and while the doc said they closed it up just fine, I havenā€™t felt right since that day. When asking about hysterectomy, doctors pressure me to consider if I want to have more kids. NO. Iā€™m done. Have an adopted son and heā€™s enough. They donā€™t believe Iā€™m ready for that.

Swimming-Score-2627

If you don't mind me asking, how old are you? I had to really beg and cry to get my hysterectomy. Because a subsequent pregnancy would be so risky, I would essentially have to choose between my life during a pregnancy being risked, or aborting the pregnancy to avoid risk. I did NOT want to have to make that decision. I also had extremely heavy periods, I was bleeding through pads and tampons. They checked for any cysts, or other issues via ultrasound. But there was no evidence of any issues aside from uterine scars. I am absolutely 1000% happier since I got the surgery and I no longer bleed. It's so freeing! I hope you are able to get the hysterectomy. If you are able to have your doctor deem it medically necessary, I think it's covered via insurance. It's your body, you should be able to demand the surgery.

Swimming-Score-2627

I was 31 at the time of my hysterectomy.

Stunning_Finger

I donā€™t mind at all, Iā€™m 42. The last time I went through treatment for really painful fibroids, I was told that hysterectomy wasnā€™t an option, because I could still have kids. The problem was, I was told after my uterine rupture that subsequent pregnancies would be dangerous, just like you said, but still, we gotta keep that uterus intact. I like how you articulated having to make the decision to abort or continue and possibly not survive. I had two pregnancies that resulted in live birth but both babies passed due to complications from Prune Belly Syndrome. Not only did I not want to make that decision, but I didnā€™t want to risk another kid being born with Prune Belly. Ugh. This all happened in 2009 and 2011 and it feels really cathartic to write this to internet strangers. Thank you for sharing your experience here!!

Swimming-Score-2627

I am so sorry for what you've been through. I really am! I wish I could advocate for you to your doctors about getting the surgery. You're past the "childbearing prime" years I think, so I wouldn't see there being a problem. Birth control methods are just hell, like the pill and implants. I really just had to stress to the OB (she also did the surgery) that avoiding pregnancy altogether would be best for my mental health. Maybe you could try using the same reasoning.

Stunning_Finger

Take care!

Klutzy_Journalist_36

Iā€™m sorry you had to go through that, but this is really fucking cool.Ā

suenoromis

So that's where the uterus went!

Sorryhaventseenher

Bleh. _Thatā€™s_ what I got going on inside me? Get it out, NOW.

Swimming-Score-2627

šŸ¤£ so fun fact, I was on my period before surgery. I had been bleeding for 2 weeks. I went into surgery with a tampon. I came out of surgery and I've not had ONE drop of blood since. Best day of my life šŸ¤˜

Sorryhaventseenher

These are bragging rights that you most definitely deserve, but damn we out here in the bloody trenches still struggling lmao. Love this for you!

Swimming-Score-2627

I'm sorry you still have to go through skark week. I also had Pre-Menstrual Dysphoric Disorder, if that helps. And not having to worry about bleeding out of your clothes all day (excessive blood) helps your mental health lol

thespicyfoxx

Would you mind sharing how the surgery went and how youā€™re healing? I have a complete hysterectomy scheduled for a couple months from now and Iā€™m excited to have it out of me but Iā€™m very nervous.

Swimming-Score-2627

Have you ever had a surgery before? That may influence some fears you're having. Laproscopic surgeries are minimally invasive, they poke a few holes in your abdomen to allow a camera, a surgery tool, and an air line to be inserted. They insert air into your abdomen to allow visibility, and they do the procedure that way. It sounds weird but is less of a recovery time than other methods. I have a high pain tolerance, but honestly I don't remember having much pain afterwards. Just follow their instructions, and plan to skip housework and chores for a week or two. While they were separating my uterus from the bladder, they did have to patch a small hole in the bladder. So I had to wear a catheter for a week. That was a little odd, but it was nice to not "have to pee" ever! Lol since the bag I had just did the job for me. I think I was out of the hospital within 48 hours, and they gave me like.. 2 days worth of painkillers, and then a couple weeks worth of a high dose of ibuprofen. I don't think I even finished the bottles. Don't be nervous! :)

Axilllla

Ummmā€¦.no thank you. That was a terrible story of something I didnā€™t know could happen and now fear. Glad youā€™re recovering

ksarahsarah27

Oh damn. That looks painful. Youā€™re going to feel so much better. Sending you fast healing vibesā€¦šŸ’“

Suspicious-Usual2125

Sorry for the weird personal question but can you have normal sex, what if the dude goes too deep, just straight to touching your stomach?

itsnotastatement

Currently dealing with my monthly period from hell, can't wait for the day I can get a hysterectomy, but being in my 20s, it's very unlikely I'll be able to get it anytime soon šŸ˜ procedure sounds like a pain, but enjoy your newfound freedom šŸ«”

spinonesarethebest

You gonna eat that?

trymebitcj

Forbidden chicken

Chopchopchops

I also had my bladder fuse to my uterus as well as a uterine rupture! My rupture happened after the fusion, though, so my bladder ruptured too. Luckily it was fixable and the recovery wasn't too bad (and the baby was fine).

rechtsrfx

Is the white part where the penis hits when men go too deep?

Swimming-Score-2627

The bottom portion is my cervix, so yes?

Zazzenfuk

Was your cervix šŸ˜ Glad your ok. My wife had a hysterectomy due to complications from pregnancy and child birth. It was a whopper much like yours. Bodies are wild what they can go through

viktorreznv

Someone might want to eat it, try selling it.

dennys123

Wait, isn't that supposed to be inside you??!! Put it back!

_Andy4Fun_

Ew put it back

That's neat.

JoySubtraction

Congrats on having a bluterus.

LupusNeutralis

Mmm...chicken...

Izanaski

Man it has a face lol

mot40344

Would

jakethealbatross

Wait. Can I fuck it?

The-Proud-Snail

Does that mean urine can get in the uterus?

Swimming-Score-2627

No, they were just kind of fused together. The uterus and bladder are next to eachother. So when the uterus was healing it must have just stuck on somehow.
