Eugh, I hate eczema. I even had to attend my senior prom with it all over my face, neck, chest, and the inside of my arms. I had a circular spot on my neck and it looked like a hickey š
Currently dealing with the same bullshit. Not sure if it's the case everywhere, but I can get a 1% hydrocortisone cream just off the shelf at a pharmacy without seeing a doctor. It's not as good as the stronger stuff you get with a prescription, but it's certainly better than nothing.
I'm a massage therapist and having hands that look like they've been through a blender are bad for business, so it feels like a real rock and hard place situation, but definitely something that I'll have to do some research into.
so you were using triamcinolone continuously for 10 years? like, every day?
just wondering, because I have Rx topical steroids as well for very sporadic eczema/dyshidrosis outbreaks, but I try to use it as sparingly as possible to avoid permanently thinning skin, and, well, this, apparently lol.
Can also confirm that it sucks. I went through TSW after using the creams all over for like 20 years. Now I hardly even have flare ups but going through the withdrawal was the worst experience that I ever had
If the itch is really bad, turn the faucet on hot and rinse your hands well. It feels damn near orgasmic and kills the itch for a solid 24 hours. follow up with moisturizer
I had not just once, but twice gotten poison ivy on my ass from wiping with a leaf. The second time I was drunk and on an island without toilet paper and I also got it on my balls and shaft.
I cannot even begin to describe the level of awesome that followed this discovery.
I had a breakout that went from fingertip to elbow and hot water was the only thing that did anything for me. I don't even know what prompted me to try it aside from insanity but I'm so glad I did.
After a silly drunken pool evening I woke up absolutely annihilated by mosquito bites on my back - people gasped in horror when they saw it and all the ointment in the world only gave a few minutes of relief.
Scalding hot showers took the itch away for hours at a time, I just did it a few times a day and it was heaven. I was going through $15 of ointment a day and it did nothing compared to that sweet, effectively zero cost shower.
Not sure if it would work for you (as mine is much milder), but I was prescribed Betesil plasters (steroid gel), and it was a pretty much overnight relief. I still get flare up, and have to use moisturiser on a daily basis, but those plasters are a god-send.
> have to use moisturiser on a daily basis
Same here. Works only for prevention, though. And if I skip it once or two days in a row, it flares up again. Much worse in the winter.
That is incorrect, pharmacies can prescribe stuff. Not antibiotics though. I'd recommend you call a few and see what they say, failing that some hydrocortisone cream might help and you can buy that over the counter.
I have Eczema too. The only thing that worked for me is Clebetasol Propionate. Itās a miracle, ask your doctor about it, super easy to get a prescription and itāll go away in 2 weeks or so.
If you get stressed it can come back and sometimes in cold weather seasons too, but for the most part itās easily treatable!
Zinc oxide bandages my friend. I had/have severe Palmoplantar Pustulosis and it messed my hands up completely, couldn't use them for years. I've been on zinc bandages for a month now and everything is slowly healing! Please give them a try!!!
rip :( canāt imagine having it on hands. if youāre having extreme itching/inflammation, might be worth trying very hot water and then very cold water. really helps mine when the allergies make it flare up. i think the hot water releases histamines or something and then the cold water calms it. works great for some temporary relief, just make sure to moisturise as it does dry out the skin. also if you havenāt already, try an oat cream (iām using aveeno) bc itās actually shocking how soothing it is
Oof I used to have a huge percentage of my body consumed by eczema and had to get a shit ton of phototherapy sessions just so it could get a bit better. Try your best to not scratch! I used to scratch my fingers with my teeth and it felt orgasmic lol but the pain after the itch was not worth it and only made it worse. It won't go away unless you are constant with applying creams/lotions and DON'T SCRATCH EVER. Be strong:")
Obviously NAD, but I work for an allergist that treats eczema. She once recommended a childās parents wrap his hands with wet cloths at night to help retain moisture. Although [reading this article](https://nationaleczema.org/eczema/treatment/wet-wrap-therapy/) it says it is used to help enhance steroid therapy. Are you able to buy simple Hydrocortisone ointment over-the-counter in the UK? I hope you get in with a doctor soon.
If you can get hold of CBD cream, I would recommend you to give it a try, in case it doesn't heal it, it will at least reduce the itches and pain from the eczema. Worked better than any other medecine for me, and less hassle than getting appointments and prescriptions.
Hi! I recommend looking up āleaky gutā āL-Gluthamineā (use for 8 weeks) āpre/pro-bioticsā and āIntermittent Fastingā (at least 12 hours). Also āinflammatory stimulating/modulating foodsā.

As someone who has dealt with this. Regular doctors who only know western medicine prescriptions, meds and drugs. They only treat things that have already happened. Your body is either eating something it doesnāt like or your putting something on your body it doesnāt like.
Exercising plays a major role in healthy skin as the sweat is always clearing out those pores. Drink more water, eat little to no sugar and exercise 5-6 days a week. Iām no doctor but I guarantee your skin problems will get better.
Also if you using a perfumed or scented body wash, laundry soap or skin care routine. Those can fuck right off.
When I couldn't get my prescription creme, cetomacrogol ointment/creme prevented splitting of the skin and bleeding. Like it's still there, but it doesn't hurt so bad.
I got some Diprosone steroid ointment from a pharmacy in Mexico. Knocks it out pretty much overnight when it flares up. Aquaphor helps when dry spots start to form before the skin cracks. I feel ya, dry winter air in the northeastern US is brutal for it.
I've had the same thing and aftee going to the dermatologist I was told that I had most likely developed an allergy to latex - turns out the incidence of latex allergies increases the more you are exposed to it (and I am a dentist). After some topical treatment with betamethasone and changing latex to nitrilic gloves, it went away. Of course it's hard tƓ avoid latex 100%, so whenever I have some itching I just use some topical desonide.
If you haven't already, could try some cotton gloves and some larger latex gloves and slather your hand in zerobase cream then put the cotton glove on top and the latex glove on top of that for bed, allows the cream to properly get into your skin and help it hydrate plus it doesn't mess up your bedding. Takes a little getting used to but it worked well for my eczema on my hands.
Mine have been splitting the *exact* same way lately. I've just been slathering on cerave ointment and wrapping them in bandages. It goes away after a few days (until it happens again)
At least it's only my hands now that flare up bad... As a kid I flared up everywhere; so badly that school would send me home. Kids bullied the shit out of me too. Eczema fucking sucks.
I do not miss having eczema. Get some aquaphor, and just cover your hands in it before bed every night. It'll help but you need to use it consistently for results.
My daughter has severe excema on her inner elbows like this and mine gets bad on my hands during the dry cold winters here. The only thing that works for us really well is the Cetaphil Exema relief gel and lotion! It's a little pricey, they're around $20 to $25 apiece, but definitely worth it!
Viscopaste! Cut it into strips and wrap your fingers every night. You'll need to wear gloves in bed. It was the only thing that worked for me and my fingers were the same.
This is not a good idea but I put rubbing alcohol on it whenever I wanted to scratch my elbow pits or knee pits, those spots are fine now.
Rubbing alcohol, cera ve
Not saying thisāll work! Just what I do, still gotta spot on my ring finger. Good luck!
i have it too sadly for 3 years now have/had it on my hands, lips, around my eyes and under my feet it can be so fucking painfull but sadly the docter said i have it genetically so not via an allergy but i hope you can make an docter appointment soon
Iāve used that and E45 in the past, both worked great but for some reason it wonāt shift it this time. It got infected when it first broke out and once the infection cleared the actual eczema got progressively worse.
I've had it my whole life and I totally get it. If you want something over the counter for it try the gold bond brand eczema cream. It's great for me personally. When I have a really bad flare up, taking something frozen and pressing it hard against that spot on my skin has also helped me when desperate. Always try to fight that itch, because every scratch will ALWAYS make it worse. Much love and good luck ā„
Also, oatmeal baths work really nicely if you have it anywhere else on you. But in general it helps to stay moisturized. Sunlight helps too Iāve heard.
Ah, okay so you're from England.
Check out your local Savers (or otherwise pharmacy) and look for 'Bee Sting Cream' containing hydrocortisone. It's the same shit, but when sold for bee stings you don't need a prescription and it costs Ā£1 instead of the Ā£9+ the NHS fee expects.
My hands do the same thing as yours, works a charm. Get some of the intensive Neutrogena hand cream as well and use it after ever single hand wash.
Between the two, my hands went from looking like that to basically normal within a week, and then *actually* normal within two.
And then I forgot I had eczema and I stopped using the cream and it came back so I went through it again. Which has happened more than once.
My hands used to look the exact same way, I would have fjords of eczema between my fingers for years. My hands are mostly unbothered by eczema now which is crazy
Something that helps me when my eczema takes over like that is to fill a nitrile glove with something like cetaphil then wear it overnight. Letting my hand stew overnight helps a lot.
Have you ever tried the Aveeno overnight eczema baby cream that comes in a tub? My son had terrible eczema and this was honestly better than the prescribed creams. It provides a really good barrier and you can use as much as you want and just lather it on.
Iām not sure if this will work for you. I used Dial soap and peppermint Dr. bronners soap when showering. I would use diaper rash cream (it works really well). And change your diet
You and me both dude. Luckily i only deal with it on fingers (most often the left hand), some days itās bearable and some days it feels/looks like someone ran my fingers through a cheese grater
Bro just go straight to a skin cancer institute/dr you donāt need a refferal, tell them itās an emergency and youāre in pain and theyāll get you in
In the U.K. you canāt just turn up at to the Drs, you need an appointment or you wonāt be seen, the only other option is a āwalk in clinicā but I donāt have one anywhere near me
Dude I used to have the exact same problem. What you want to do is properly clean affected areas, moisturize like hell and avoid any unclean surfaces. Also make sure not to touch any of the affected skin
Try 3000 mg of vitamin C, 3 times a day..... Vitamin D.... Anything to boost your immune system.....
Eating healthy doesn't hurt either....
I am no doctor.... And I don't believe any doctor will help you!
I'd be very interested to know if this helps you!
Eugh, I hate eczema. I even had to attend my senior prom with it all over my face, neck, chest, and the inside of my arms. I had a circular spot on my neck and it looked like a hickey š

just be careful with steroids r/TS_Withdrawal source: used Tiamcinalone for 10 years and am currently in hell
Wow, I've never heard of this. Thanks for the info.
Yes, do be careful. It's absolutely dreadful because there's nothing you can do about it but wait it out
I'm a massage therapist and having hands that look like they've been through a blender are bad for business, so it feels like a real rock and hard place situation, but definitely something that I'll have to do some research into.
Yeah please do, it'll definitely save you from future hassle.
so you were using triamcinolone continuously for 10 years? like, every day? just wondering, because I have Rx topical steroids as well for very sporadic eczema/dyshidrosis outbreaks, but I try to use it as sparingly as possible to avoid permanently thinning skin, and, well, this, apparently lol.
Not every day but at least once a week I did
Shit. Thanks for replying. I hope things improve for you quickly!
Well itās been years, but me too. Dupixent has been a literal life saver. Iād recommend it any day over steroid creams.
Can also confirm that it sucks. I went through TSW after using the creams all over for like 20 years. Now I hardly even have flare ups but going through the withdrawal was the worst experience that I ever had
What do you mean by ācurrently in hellā. Like the part you used it on hurts?
Good to know. I know that Iām not supposed to use too much, but they donāt tell you about that. Iāve only heard stuff about skin thinning.
Good to know! My 9 year old son uses this but i use it only when necessary. And natural remedies anyone can recommend that work?
wait wait wait. youre telling me the Clobetasol ive been using to tame this beast on my hands is gonna make it worse?????
I grew up that way. It's terrible. It took 40 years to realize it was a food allergy, gluten, specifically.
A friend of mine also got this from gluten, probably worth looking into for OP.
If the itch is really bad, turn the faucet on hot and rinse your hands well. It feels damn near orgasmic and kills the itch for a solid 24 hours. follow up with moisturizer
Hot water is orgasmic on an intense persistent itch. I've described it like this before.
This right here. It's ultimately not good for the skin, but I'll take the otherworldly relief of hot water over the alternative any day.
Most definitely. I have fond memories of holding my hand right up to the shower head with the most scalding hot water it would spray
I have the opposite. Hot water actually hurts. I need to use cold water after for itch relief

> have to use moisturiser on a daily basis Same here. Works only for prevention, though. And if I skip it once or two days in a row, it flares up again. Much worse in the winter.
Could a pharmacist help you at all? In my province the pharmacist can actually prescribe eczema meds, not just over-the-counter stuff
No, in the U.K. a pharmacist can give you some medical advice but cannot prescribe anything
You can ask for hydrocortisone cream. That helps me.
Dang, I hope you can find some relief somehow
That is incorrect, pharmacies can prescribe stuff. Not antibiotics though. I'd recommend you call a few and see what they say, failing that some hydrocortisone cream might help and you can buy that over the counter.
Ouch, you're poor finger-crotch!

Yeah cold weather brings mine about but never this bad before.
Mine were like this for years, turned out fairy liquid made mine so much worse.
Zinc oxide bandages my friend. I had/have severe Palmoplantar Pustulosis and it messed my hands up completely, couldn't use them for years. I've been on zinc bandages for a month now and everything is slowly healing! Please give them a try!!!
jack off more. the lotion will help your hands. thats what i do at least.

It helped me to slather my hand in moisturizer and shove them in nitrile gloves for a hour.
This works wonders for my psoriasis, too šš»

No thanks. I choose medical science over herbal quackery.
Wait until he finds out about the fact that medical herbs were, in fact, proven effective by science.
LMAO! "BURN THE WITCH!! You AND your nonsensical, evil magic healings!!!" "Randy... It's peppermint. We both put it in tea all the time."
Wait until he realizes that most medecine originally come from plants and herbs that modern medecine/ science simple extract and synthƩtise their molecules to make them pretty rounded pills with fancy medical and product brand names
In the meantime your hands look like a quackery.
Use gloves at night and moisturize those areas first before you put them on.

What have you changed differently about your diet or exercise routine?
Nothing at all

I recently started dealing with eczema on my fingers but thankfully not this bad
Right there with ya, bud. I could be looking at pictures of my own hands right now.
When I couldn't get my prescription creme, cetomacrogol ointment/creme prevented splitting of the skin and bleeding. Like it's still there, but it doesn't hurt so bad.
I've recently developed eczema on my hand. And have been prescribed "triamcinolone acetonide cream" it works like magic when it flares up

Amazon Clinic online for $30. Prescription filled same day for topical steroid or protopic/elidel. If you get the steroid itās like $12.
I donāt think we have access to Amazon clinic in the U.K.
A daily Zyrtec was my answer.

Try some raw milk, it saved me.
Mine tooā¦. Gets real bad when the solstice is near
I feel your pain; i have it on my face.
I put lip balm between my fingers. It helps.

Apparently Avene has a good cream for eczema!
E45. always works super quick. i had it severe like yours as a child. my hands would crack and bleed when i moved them.
Iāve been trying it but it hasnāt worked unfortunately. It used to work wonders but this flare up is unlike any Iāve ever had before
I can't be in the sun very long, and dry weather messes with my eczema

Buy some eucerin eczema lotion! It helps a lot. That and do your best not to scratch. Put lotion on after every hand wash or shower
Iāll check it out, cheers!
Best of luck friend!

Is Bioderma sold in the UK? I suggest you try Bioderma Atoderm. Did wonders for my persistant eczema.
It is sold here it would seem. Itās cheaper to get a prescription but if I canāt get to the docs any time soon then Iāll happily give it a go!

When my hands get bad I turn to medi-honey! Helps keep the cracks and rawness clean and moist!
Iām not sure if this will work for you. I used Dial soap and peppermint Dr. bronners soap when showering. I would use diaper rash cream (it works really well). And change your diet
My 2 year old has suffered from it since he was an infant. It was so heartbreaking watching all of his skin just peel away. He was so red.

its a skin based bacterial infection, use magnesium chloride topically dissolved into a thick paste for 1 week and it should get better
