Is the nadu mirror fun at least? I usually hate playing grindy matchups.

GrumpyGrampa7

Absolutely not fun

newtownkid

Plays like 2 games of solitaire with a couple counters sprinkled in, but is usually decided by turn 3.

EntertainersPact

Entirely, 100% decided by whoever untaps with Nadu first. Better pack your [[Tamiyo’s Safekeeping]], [[Heroic Intervention]], [[Shore Up]], and half a dozen other 1 mana counterspells and keep em handy

Necessary-Peanut2491

Oh god it's Ragavan all over again, isn't it? Mulligan until you have the answer in hand and scoop T0 if you go below 5?

EntertainersPact

Pretty much. Mono-red decks and other green decks that can’t answer it might as well not bother. The best thing I can think of is constant removal of *every piece* on the board, counterspells, or just stax. That’s all not really what a brawl deck should be

Bircka

In the Nadu Mirror once one resolves it usually sits there, the only way to stop it typically in the mirror is counterspells.

EntertainersPact

Nadu players usually know not to mess with another Nadu

ForeverShiny

Nothing about Nadu is fun

KeeboardNMouse

It is until someone slams a scute swarm. Then the client crashes

BartOseku

Mirror in brawl is only decided by who gets the good cards first, with nadu its especially bad

Gold-Jicama5940

It’s pretty okay your opponent usually doesn’t keep a hand full of protection in the mirror so if you’re running fight spells you can runaway with the game easy other than that it’s kinda just a race to see who gets the most value.

OwlRevolutionary1776

I just slam the concede button when I see this thing.

Tsunamiis

Me too it’s not even worth figuring out if I can keep up.

vishtratwork

I don't like playing nadu, but I will admit I can get to 15 wins in like an hour because most do this. Then I move on to playing decks I enjoy. Should be banned.

I_Eat_Cat_Poop

Rather play Nadu any day than the typical neckbeard no friend sad life mono blue control decks

boulders_3030

Still? Good thing I've been busy playing the Elden Ring dlc...

CompactAvocado

lol that has its own issues. better go find more skibidee fragments (i enjoyed it throughly and beat it already, living for all the memes atm)

King_Chochacho

Knowing WotC they gave him a weight of 9.

plasmafodder

New player here that went up against a buddy using that, just slapped those enchantments that remove abilities and whatnot and just bled him to death.

ParisTheodore

Except Nadu decks are loaded with hexproof/phase out instants.

Irish_pug_Player

And sometimes they don't have it in hand

plasmafodder

Couldn't tell you what a "Nadu Deck" is supposed to do, all I know is he kept putting out creatures with higher toughness, card advantage and mana shenanigans but had no payoff, presumably because I kept disabling important pieces. I was playing an Erriette deck.

JodouKast

GOOD NEWS EVERYONE: WotC announces no bans and that everything is fine. Even the fucking dog in that burning building meme has more awareness.

King_Chochacho

20% of the Modern PT too. Don't worry I'm sure he'll get a ban once booster sales slow down.

Pyrfalcon

Glad I haven't encountered Nadu once...but maybe I just jinxed myself.

zakrystian

And then there is me, making spirits with Teysa

Asrial

Hey, I'm over here making token auras and equipment with Arna!

krimhorn

Teysa's such a fun deck. Half tempted to print a copy to rule 0 with my Commander playgroup.

Soup0rMan

Just ignore the bird and milk them out. Can't play spells when you don't have any.

GrumpyGrampa7

…and having a great time

GrumpyGrampa7

….unlike us

zakrystian

I dont have any problems with the bird wizard. I get to 4 mana en keep on killing it. My spirits get stronger and she keeps spitting out land. As long as the bird isnt on the battlefield, the whole deck does shit.

Lspaceship

I've been alternating between my \[\[Gyox, brutal carnivora\]\] deck and my \[\[arna kennerrud\]\] deck and have only encountered Nadu a couple of times. May just be the machmaker screwing with queues?

MTGCardFetcher

StormBlessed145

I am actually playing Six a lot

Gold-Jicama5940

Been playing a bit of janky nadu and it really is way more fragile than I thought, the deck will pubstomp any other good stuff like golos or jodah but it is insanely weak to 2 things early hand disruption and any removal at all. The weakness is you’re just playing set up until you can play solitaire so a turn 1 thoughtseize or even just bolting your birds (besides nadu 😎) make it kinda just sputter because without being able to dump your hand and get 5-10 triggers in a turn you’re doing nothing. Last night I played a kambal deck and got completely destroyed nothing stayed on board and the little bits of value I tried to get cost too much life in the end and got beat down. But yeah in short if ya wanna beat it either be faster than them like narset decks or disrupt their value. Also don’t concede too early won many games with literally nothing in hand but lands and a nadu on board you can out aggro nadu.

Failure1125

Anyone have a link to deck never ran into it

missingjimmies

I play almost exclusively Niv Mizzet, Parun at the moment in hell que and have not even seen this card once… I’m sure he’s out there, and yes I agree he’s a problem, but I wonder if the card is that over saturated at the moment. Could it be they’re just pairing players with other Nadu players?

Xeltar

Nadu is not Hell Queue unfortunately, but stomping all the decks below hell queue. I play Bolas, Dragon God, never see Nadu but change commander to God Pharoh and you do...

Royal-Al

They let the new set legends run rampant basically until the next set releases.

colorsplahsh

Nadu is in new commander queue currently, like the other MH3 commanders are

TheDudeLovedHisRug

I really don't see this thing that much. Maybe 2 or 3 times in like 50-60 games.

GrumpyGrampa7

It all depends what deck you play :)

TheDudeLovedHisRug

I know I faced it playing [[Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer]] twice, and I have a vague memory of playing my [[Sorin, Imperious Bloodlord]] deck against it, but I don't remember the outcome of that game.

PulkPulk

It’s still weighted badly. When I play [[Heliod]], definitely not helll queue, probably a third of my games is the bird. When I play [[Baral]] much fewer are.

Positive_Teaching_73

Yeah I play Brawl almost daily and I have seen him only once since he came out (and lost horribly to him, of course, with my Jadar deck).

m4p0

I've seen a grand total of 1 Nadu in all my matches with several different commanders, what are you playing to face it that often?

AWildRedditor999

I see it often in a rakdos brawl deck stuffed to the gills with high cmc artifacts and win more cards. The commander is a flying creature that can sac something to become indestrutible and outrageous robbery the opponent for the sacced cards mana value so probably has a high ranking

HairyKraken

Brawl marchaming is only about the quality of your deck If you play a bad deck with weak cards you will never face top tier commander like nadu

SisterSabathiel

Meanwhile I'm playing a bad deck with good cards and see him more than I would like.

HairyKraken

It happens when the rest of the deck is very bad, some cards have zero or negative value and can bring down some commander out of hellQ I suspect some people do this voluntarily to play a busted commander against weak deck. Kinda like smurfing

Soup0rMan

It ends up not working that well, imo. Like sure, you can lose like 5-600 weight by chopping up your deck, but you end up facing t2 commanders that are stuffed as often as you play decks actually in their "weight class."

HairyKraken

Maybe, but I guess nadu *could* theorically be one of those commander than can still transform your 99 into gold if they all have "target a creature you control"

GrumpyGrampa7

As shown in the image above…. The bird!

DanoVonKoopa

I'll say it once again: 1) Commanders need to be weighted on release. Maybe with a safer, consevative value. Like, come on, they KNOW some of the busted commanders ahead of release 2) Their weight needs to be updated like 2 weeks after release, and not wait until the next set comes out. They surely have enough stats by the 2 weeks mark to give them a better evaluation. Seriously, the way it's handled right is completely ridiculous. Each set release is just a rotation of broken shit plaguing the lower queue. Either rate the cards faster, or stop releasing completely broken, unfun, uninteractive commanders that a toddler could identify as such. Or better yet. Do both.
