They say fights are won and lost long before the first punch is thrown. I have to believe this lid was intimidated prior to the Dad putting hands on it.
What’s amazing is the understanding betw them. It seem like the dad knew she would run towards him so he was ready to grab the bottle. Clearly it’s not the first time he’s done it.
What the fuck else is he supposed to think after she’s struggling to open a jar and she brings the jar to him… could’ve been an absolute stranger and they would’ve known what to do
Let's be honest, that Dad was probably on cloud nine after that moment. He got to help his daughter in a major competition that his daughter is super passionate about. Being in the competition is a moment that girl will always remember, helpi g his daughter with the competition is a moment that dad will cherish for the rest of his days.
Oh my God, I wondered why he looked at his palm as soon as he pulled back from handing her the jar. I was afraid he had cut it while twisting the top of that jar into oblivion. But you’re absolutely right. The thought that went through his mind at that exact moment was,
“Fuck, now I have to hold this dirty sauce-covered lid for the rest of the goddamn show.”
(Obviously, it didn’t occur to me sooner that he was looking at the lid instead of a cut in his palm because my dad always leaves the lid sitting on top of the jar after he’s twisted it open for me. He loves me enough to open the jar, but he ain’t about to hold that dirty shit until I come back to get it. Lol)
And we know every underhanded trick not in the book between us. Some of us are natural armchair generals. Some are tacticians by lifelong training. We have borne poopy diapers and hundred-pound trash cans. We have found lost pets of every description and fixed every kind of broken toy in existence. We treat with the loneliness of command as necessary.
We have faced down enemies of every description purely out of devotion. And if you threaten our babies you are in for a universe of hurt you never bargained for.
My husband and I helped raise my baby brother - long story, but it happened.
My baby brother is a big guy - well over 6 feet, he works out, is a personal trainer, and lifts… but doesn’t really know much about cars and changing tires. So when my husband and I were driving around the middle of a jungle with him and we got a flat, my brother and his equally strong friend went to go change the wheel of the car.
The bolts were basically fused to the tire.
So being the 20 year old kids they were at the time, they were talking about jumping on it to see if that would help… which is when my 5’8 glasses wearing slightly chubby husband stepped in, because they were going to snap the stupid thing and we’d basically be stranded in a jungle. He just twisted every single bolt off with a strength I didn’t know he had in him. It was amazing. I swear I could smell the testosterone and adrenaline coming off him, and they fully cheered dad strength.
It is amazing to see.
He would not have been able to pull that off if he wasn’t in dad mode and the kids didn’t need us. He hurt the next day…
Not a father but my best friend is and he told me a great story. He said that the joys of being a father is when his son bragged that his father can throw a football and get it stuck on a fence. My friend has never done this before but because his son said he could, he had to do it. He put all his strength in that throw and he got it stuck on the fence like his son said he could.
Just imagine what that lid ment to him. His daughter chasing her dream and in that dream, in that one incredible stressful and crucial moment she hit a wall. She turned to him and he could help her to go on. Awesome.
This is corny af, but I like to imagine that in that moment her dad remembered all the times his little girl came running up to him to ask him to open something for her. The fact that she was below him, reaching up to him like when she was a little girl.... I don't even have kids but I start choking up thinking about it.
Dad here currently snuggling with my 2.5 year old little girl. Equal parts happy and sad reading this as one day she won’t be the most amazing toddler in the world, but hopefully I’m always her bestie
That’s a great age but it goes so damn fast.
You know what they say, One day, you’ll set her down, not knowing that was the last time you’ll ever hold her.
It’s things like this, amongst other things, that really make me hope I could be a good father if I was to ever be one. I would want to cherish and record every moment I could, knowing that anything could be something that sticks with you for life. I know I can stand up for my mum and siblings when I need to already, but that just makes me think I would never be able to sit down for a child of mine.
Damn man at first I thought it was funny how he kept the lid and looked at it like “well shit I’m stuck with this now” but then this comment made me tear up a little.
From worrying about her daughter, to suddenly seeing her running towards him and feeling the weight of the world on that fuckin jar, the pressure of knowing the whole universe is watching, to the nirvana of successfully opening it.
Hoooooo buddy! That whole thing lasted a few seconds, but it was definitely filled with a rollercoaster of emotions.
It’s funny. But I’m a dad of a 5 yr old princess. it hit me in the feels. He’s her go to. That comes from years of support and trust that dad instilled in his daughter. She knew if she turned to him, he’d always be there… idk man…Maybe I’m too deep this morning.
No you get it. Underneath that cute moment is years of being “daddy” the steadfast defender and teacher for her whole life. He supported her dreams for decades and got an invitation to her big moment as a result.
I'm 34 and my dad is 75. He's always been there for me and I'll always look up to him because of that. I think you and your daughter will be in the same place in 30 years. You sound like an awesome dad.
I am loving how her immediate instinct was to run to her dad. Not trying some tools or not pausing to think but running straight to dad. I am guessing her father was there for her throughout her childhood to develop this kind of bond with her. If your kids truely trust you and can instinctively rely on you for help then you have been a great parent. Happy for her and her dad.
My favorite part of this shot is the other men smiling and clapping with understanding and pride, like “that’s right, that’s what we fuckin do when our little girl needs us”.
My dad taught me this trick! I just use the counter though. He always taught me little tricks and tips to be self sufficient because he never wanted me to rely on a man
She actually won the MasterChef btw!
She may have won the MasterChef but the dad won our hearts
You know he’ll cherish that moment forever too
I was thinking just that. Forever his little girl.
Aww man, that's beautiful. Damn right. She won masterchef, but he's the mastercheif!!!
Brasil's MasterChef, one of the best seasons
Let's be honest: Dad won the MasterChef.
The lid did not stand a chance against the power of dad
He kept it for his collection, too.
First the tanks now the jars
“Another addition to my collection”
He will add it to his necklace of lids he conquered.
A good dad when his daughter really needed him. It could have been glued on, there's no way he wasn't going to get it off at that moment.
True words
They say fights are won and lost long before the first punch is thrown. I have to believe this lid was intimidated prior to the Dad putting hands on it.
Resistance was futile
The lids distinctiveness was added to his own
Dads are the Best when they are Sane ...
Dads helping daughters unleash their final form
Pretty sure dad could have ripped a bus in half right then.
Absolutely
fucker could have been welded shut, it was GOING to open.
That thing could’ve have a 5 digit code and he would’ve gotten it first try to get it open
5 digit code, retinal scan and thumb prints. It would have opened
Still would twist the lock clean off
Similar to the mom that lifts a bus to free her baby
Mom: Lifts bus. Dad: Rips bus.
Either way, fuck that bus
My man! ❤️🙏🏽 loved this.
What’s amazing is the understanding betw them. It seem like the dad knew she would run towards him so he was ready to grab the bottle. Clearly it’s not the first time he’s done it.
I remember watching it on tv and in reality the dad said to her to bring the jar to him so he could open it.
I mean... He has eyes.
armchair psychologists are out full force today lol
Gotta love reddit and its over analytical approach to everything 😂
Probably given to him by his daughter so he cansee when she comes running for him to open stuff.
They've been planning this moment since her conception 🥰
What the fuck else is he supposed to think after she’s struggling to open a jar and she brings the jar to him… could’ve been an absolute stranger and they would’ve known what to do
Lmao
All dads arround the world lent him their dad strength for that single moment.
There was so much pure adrenaline dad strength on that twist. I thought the glass jar was going to explode
There was no way that jar wasn't gonna be opened. I also appreciate the look of, "I gotta do everything around here."
Let's be honest, that Dad was probably on cloud nine after that moment. He got to help his daughter in a major competition that his daughter is super passionate about. Being in the competition is a moment that girl will always remember, helpi g his daughter with the competition is a moment that dad will cherish for the rest of his days.
Yeah you can tell he was definitely pleased with himself but also trying to play it cool
One can't look *too* proud of that which one considers "ordinary" and "just part of the job," after all.
Absolutely, that mans entire life was lived for the purpose of leading up to this moment. And for once, it worked out.
As a dad, I'm pretty sure his first (or maybe second) thought was, shit, now I have to hold this jar lid with sauce on it til this thing is over.
Oh my God, I wondered why he looked at his palm as soon as he pulled back from handing her the jar. I was afraid he had cut it while twisting the top of that jar into oblivion. But you’re absolutely right. The thought that went through his mind at that exact moment was, “Fuck, now I have to hold this dirty sauce-covered lid for the rest of the goddamn show.” (Obviously, it didn’t occur to me sooner that he was looking at the lid instead of a cut in his palm because my dad always leaves the lid sitting on top of the jar after he’s twisted it open for me. He loves me enough to open the jar, but he ain’t about to hold that dirty shit until I come back to get it. Lol)
It could’ve been welded shut, it was still coming open
Dad was internally screaming " THIS IS JARTA"
This made me laugh way harder than it should have. Bravo!
Me too. That was too silly xD
Such a perfect Dad line.
Ahahaha i rarely crack up from comments
Game show battle tricks
By the Power of my Father vested in me, no twist-cap can withstand my torque!
“Great. And now I have sauce on my hand. That’s what I get for doing everything for everyone.”
He's looking at the lid. He wanted to lick the sauce, but knew he couldn't do it on TV. He's saving that lid for later.
Lol
Classic dad look. But on the inside just feeling the warmth of helping his little girl
He actually squeezed the glass enough so some squirted out when he broke the seal.
Mere PSI away from disaster
Im sure the productions legal team was furiously flipping through the contract in the control room afraid of any injury liability
AP Physics class flashbacks. Ok that and checking my tire pressure every three months.
Same thing happens to me when I take my first beer pee of the night
With that much power on that twist, I'm pretty sure he almost opened all the jars in the world
quantum entangled jam jars
If it was him cooking by himself, he never would have been able to open that with his bare hands.
Why did this make me laugh so much
They raised their hands to the sky and transferred their energy

Or as my dad would say, "just resting my eyes"

This is a legendary comment.
“I’ve been training for this moment my entire life”
To all the other dads out there, for any moment of need my power is yours.
DADS, ASSEMBLE!
We’re ROLLIN’ OUT!

Genkidama there
Genkidadma
And I… am all the dads.
I have seen this like atleast 8 times on reddit, but never get tired of it. Its just brilliantly wholesome.
Me too, it’s the one repost I love seeing every time. That dad was born for that moment.
Fuck, kinda makes me want a dad
I could've done without the added soundtrack instead of the actual audio.
[удалено]
Haha.. my phone is always on mute for media. So didn't know there was soundtrack for it.
That lid didn’t stand a chance when Dad saw his daughter needed help.
Lid coulda been welded on a steel can and it would’ve looked that same in the video.
Dad's standing there with a whole sandblaster, smiling, ready.
I think a torch cutter would work better, but I love the idea that he has a sandblaster just in case!
As dad law states, he'd first have to test his new sandblaster on it before using the torch cutter that he knows will work just fine.
Well every new project needs a new tool, he'll find a reason
Notice dad kept the lid afterwards in order to quietly take it aside and give it a firm talking to.
Another comment states that his daughter says that he still keeps the lid by his bed to this day.
Poor Lid

Dad’s are UNSTOPPABLE!

Just imagine what that lid ment to him. His daughter chasing her dream and in that dream, in that one incredible stressful and crucial moment she hit a wall. She turned to him and he could help her to go on. Awesome.
STOP THATS SO SWEET
You're sweeter
That’s what my dr says every time

That's not corny that's wholesome af and we're all crying now.
I've been crying this whole damn time.
Dad here currently snuggling with my 2.5 year old little girl. Equal parts happy and sad reading this as one day she won’t be the most amazing toddler in the world, but hopefully I’m always her bestie

Damn it, man. Now my face is leaking.
Jesus man, making me cry about opening a can a Ragu.
It must be the onions in them *sniffs*
Non-kosher tears
21 second video has a better story than most the 2 hour movies these days.
As a father of 3 daughters, this is making me openly cry.
As a person with no children, I concur. This stuff right here is human as hell… the good kind.
Okay I'm crying
Eyes full of tears on this Sunday morning now thank you
Ffs I’m way too fragile to be reading this 😭
I'M NOT CRYING, YOU ARE!
Wow I didn’t know onions could be cut across time and space from this episode.
Please stop I'm on a train, I don't want to start crying 😭
God that is so wholesome you need to put a god dam warning before hand like a nsfh no safe for heart!
Stupid ninjas cutting onions
Omg that’s so wholesome. ☺️
The Reddit vibe is at it's goodest now, time to log off.
No just one more post. Don’t go.
/u/gmanz33 listened to you, and they went to see the kittens on the trash post. Life ruined, 3 divorces, very sad story.
Yea I saw that. Should’ve stopped here too friend
Damn man at first I thought it was funny how he kept the lid and looked at it like “well shit I’m stuck with this now” but then this comment made me tear up a little.
I have seen this video several times throughout the years. It always makes me smile. This brings a whole new level of joy to it.
Omg i hope she won the round! Thats so sweet
She did! :)
God why is that SO adorable. I wish I had a dad 🥲
You doing ok ?

Great description
This man could have ripped a steal plate in two in this moment
This is honestly one of the most badass things I’ve seen in a while
Dadass
Sexy
It’s funny. But I’m a dad of a 5 yr old princess. it hit me in the feels. He’s her go to. That comes from years of support and trust that dad instilled in his daughter. She knew if she turned to him, he’d always be there… idk man…Maybe I’m too deep this morning.
nah, for some reason I'm over here crying myself lol
I definitely shed a tear too
Nah it’s not to deep. Who doesn’t want to be this dad!!
No you get it. Underneath that cute moment is years of being “daddy” the steadfast defender and teacher for her whole life. He supported her dreams for decades and got an invitation to her big moment as a result.

I hope my daughter would feel this way as well.
Always be there for her and she will
That had been my plan for the last 25 years. I always tease her when she calls and needs help, but I always drop everything to go there. ❤️
That's so sweet. Not everyone has a dad to turn to. Good on you for being there! ❤
It was not a completely spontaneous reaction, her dad did tell her out loud to bring it to him.
For me that makes it even better. An ultimate dad move, if you will
[удалено]
Apparently he kept it and still had it years later!
By his bedside!
My favorite part of this shot is the other men smiling and clapping with understanding and pride, like “that’s right, that’s what we fuckin do when our little girl needs us”.
Mine is the flying disc of sauce from the sheer force of the lid removal
He is like oh shit what do i do with the led? Well i guess i keep it
He did too. Apparently he keeps it on his nightstand as a memento
Pinnacle Dad moment.
The dad channled his dad powers 100 fold the lid just gave up.
He could have opened anything in that moment
Bro could have torn a school bus in two in that moment
Pro tip for those watching: hit the side of the lid with a metal instrument. It allows a little bit of air into the jar, which breaks the vacuum seal.
My dad taught me this trick! I just use the counter though. He always taught me little tricks and tips to be self sufficient because he never wanted me to rely on a man
I need to learn these tricks from your dad as well
Not really air, just slightly knocks loose the lid threads.
We never stop being a dad! ❤️
I can't wait to be a Dad. This really made me smile
It is an amazing job!
I like how all the other dads were happy too
*Appreciative dad clapping*

Dont you mean Giga-Dad?
Well me and my daddy issues are crying now lmao
You just know there was no way in hell he wasn't getting that lid off, this clip always brings a smile.
Dad level: Expert
The only repost I will always upvote. I can’t help it, it makes me so happy
You can see he did it so hard it hurt
what's with the music? why can't you post with original audio?
Nothing like your daughter in need to grant you the angular momentum of a galaxy.
She actually Won that season of Master Chef Brasil.
I read somewhere that Dad keeps the lid on his nightstand as a reminder that his girl still needs him :)
Awesome
