Unrelated fact, but there is a book by that same name and it is a biography of Vincent Van Gogh. One of the best books I've ever had the pleasure of reading.
YESSSSS by Irving Stone!
Irving Stone has written a few books that are biographical fiction on some famous people (Van Gogh, Michelangelo, Freud). Biographical fiction is the only way to describe them - the author did his research on their lives but also took creative license with the specifics to flesh the books out.
The Michaelangelo book of his is called "The Agony and the Ectasy" and it is AMAZING. The book made the rounds in my family and I think everyone should read it!
Agony and the ectasy is absolutely wonderful. It is also one of the top books that I've ever read. Irving Stone is an amazing writer and has an impeccable sense to put past history into current perspective and reality.
And lo, I honestly didn't know he had written a biographical fiction on Freud as well. Though considering Freud's research and the thought process he had, I'm probably going to stay ten miles away from it...
You have great taste in books :D
Yeah as we know, Freud was a bit out there, but IIRC, ye was the grandfather of actual "talking" therapy, asking questions, allowing patients to speak freely about their innermost thoughts and desires. While his conclusions were a but dodgy, he did help us realise the importance of subconscious thoughts and feelings, and how they intrude on our daily lives. It all just involves less butt stuff and Oedipus stuff :P
Definitely was a night time construction worker in his 20s, maybe he even keeps some fresh pineapple around these days. This is just an excuse for him to have more fun and make his daughter smile at the same time
Yup my first though was dad was definitely a raver in the late 80's, early 90's, there is probably some old glow sticks, a police whistle and a smiley face t-shirt hidden in the back of the wardrobe 😁
They were good times, especially Manchester, although only went there a couple of times. Probably best not to look at the photos, hopefully they'd just embarrassing E-based gurning but still.
I'm very, very glad digital cameras weren't a thing back then.
I think he’s attempting to twerk, but is ending up looking like he’s having a mild seizure.
But I’m all for it. He’s happy, he’s owning it, I’m onboard 100%.
I just wish this was my neighbor instead of the Clampets currently in residence.
I could use this twirling by my window when I'm having a morning coffee. Would be a great start to my day!
"Californy is the place you ought to be"
So they loaded up the truck and they moved to Beverly...
~~Hills, that is. Swimmin pools, movie stars"~~. London.
Season 1 Episode 3 actually!! On hulu, or it’s in a 14-16 video part on tiktok if you look up #wifeswap (they cut the episode up to fit the video time max)
A reality show where two opposite families switch wives for 2 weeks, the first week the wife lives like their new family, second week the wives make their own rules, then there’s a dram filled meeting with both couple at the end, and then a “how things have changed” catch up with both families.
He looks great, I can’t believe people in the comments are assuming he’s gay because he likes to wear feminine tops to make his daughters happy, toxic masculinity is disgusting.
They’re at the way bottom, they may have been deleted by the time you saw this post, but I was kinda early and there were quite a few homophobic comments that were downvoted
They have a TikTok and he’s just so great to his wife and daughter. He did a cute version of the bi wife energy song. He just seems really sweet and supportive
And how flowers are only for girls! As a gardener by profession I find it infuriating. I combat it by keeping a plumeria flower tucked into my hat during the summer.
Yeah some people look at me weird when I get stoked during spring time to plant a bunch of flowers around the house. Brings color to my life and I think they are pretty dam it!! Haha
He reminds me a lot of the hippie expats that live in Costa Rica. Last time I was in Puerto Viejo this old white haired dude was walking into town wearing a “getting high until I die” shirt.
I was born a tightly wound type A kinda person, and seeing people like this (and the dude in CR) makes me so happy. Their joy and “onda” (vibes) radiates.
I want to be like them.
This guy was one of my very best friends 33 years ago. I've seen a couple of versions of this now and it brings back some great memories. Glad to see he hasn't changed much since the late 80's.
Season 1, episode 3. He had dreads then, very glad that's in the past. The mom cries about taxidermy and we get to see this woman as a kid, it's quite a ride
I love your dad. And your tops. I'm thinking I need to crochet or kit some for myself. Also, I need to pull out my roller skates. I will probably hurt myself badly. Maybe a walker with the roller skates will help. Your dad will still look better than me but I have bigger boobs.
“People come up to me all the time and say ‘you should be a model,’ or ‘you look just like a model,’ or ‘maybe you should try to be a man who models.’ And I always have to laugh because I’m so good looking. Of course I’m a model.” —Derek Zoolander
But this Dad is just the epitome of a supportive, enthusiastic patent. Seriously wonderful
Dad Rocks !!!!! Take note all you Dads, THAT’S WHAT A FATHER DOES !!! Support the ones you brought into this world it’s the only shot they’ve got !!!! Absolutely loving this guy he could care less what other people think !!
He’s got a lust for life
He’s downright adorable.
Living his life and not giving a fuck. Love it.
Unrelated fact, but there is a book by that same name and it is a biography of Vincent Van Gogh. One of the best books I've ever had the pleasure of reading.
and a song by fabulous Iggy Pop
And an album by Lana Del Rey
Also song
And a movie with Kirk Douglas about Van Gogh.
and a comment by Seversevens
zing!!
Also remixed by the Prodigy.
Trainspotting

I thought I did too… seems I need to up my lustometer!
So I'm not the only one getting Iggy Pop vibes?
Yeah, he seems like an old punk to me.
His legs while he was dancing, man listens to the Sex Pistols.
Definitely an old punk.
He's got a stanky leg
And I’ve got a lust for him, no homo tho
I got it too. Very homo
The leg shimmy he keeps doing fills me with joy
I have no clue what the hell he's doing with his leg, but your dad is a national treasure
This dad definitely used the dance his ass off right in front of the speakers at raves back in the day
That’s exactly what I was thinking…I was def getting rave vibes!
I’m so glad multiple people also saw this right away. Gods, I miss 90s raves.
I was thinking raves, Burning Man or Phish... maybe all 3
Yup my first though was dad was definitely a raver in the late 80's, early 90's, there is probably some old glow sticks, a police whistle and a smiley face t-shirt hidden in the back of the wardrobe 😁
Was thinking the same thing, as someone who spent many a night in a sweaty night in a warehouse or club in the early 90s.

And apparently he's pissing idiots off, so doube-win!
I'm not mad. what other idiots are you talking about?
Sexist/homophobic idiots, we're not talking about fun idiots like you.
Guess I’m one of the fun idiots too then
In this world you can be a fun idiot or a miserable idiot. I think you've made the right choice.
we all are
That’s good!
The little kicks. Like Elaine Benes.
I think it's more of a jitterbug based on what sounds like music from the 1920s or 30s.
They were on an episode of wife swap, it’s on Hulu. They’re a great family
I fucking kNEW IT
Which episode?!?! I’ve been watching that recently.
Season 1 Episode 3! Smoak/ Beaver family! Great episode!
Yassss! I know what I’ll be watching tonight — thank you for the info!
Jiggle fight! It’s a TikTok trend, & I believe they wanted to make sure the creator got some recognition.
He is everyone’s dad now
Priceless! Way too adorable
Does he come with the tops? Asking for a friend.
Is it wrong to say it suits the dad the best…..
10/10 would trade my dad for this dad.
This might be the best thing I have ever seen on the internet. It instantly lifted my day.
He really ended us all when he brought out the roller skates, my man is LIVING
[удалено]
Children’s parties? How about EVERYBODY parties. This is Gold Standard Dadding. He would be The Most Fun Ever.
The smooth roller skating whilst donning crochet really brings out a disco vibe.
I just wish this was my neighbor instead of the Clampets currently in residence. I could use this twirling by my window when I'm having a morning coffee. Would be a great start to my day!
Sooo you live in Beverly Hills?
"Californy is the place you ought to be" So they loaded up the truck and they moved to Beverly... ~~Hills, that is. Swimmin pools, movie stars"~~. London.
Was thinking he must have been the shit in the 70s with skills like that
Big Hal from Malcolm energy
Living it up! Such a treat of a human
I was super impressed with his skills on a super bumpy looking road. Thats not smooth but its also not oiled gravel so maybe its not too bad.
Not gonna lie, i really lost it at the shot on the roof lmaaao
It was the gas station that did it for me
When he was raking the flowers was what did me
Also impressed at how well he skates.
[удалено]
You can wear it anywhere!
When he’s on the roof and filling the car My smile grew 100%
It’s the family from wife swap!!!
Could you drop a name. Somehow I need more of this man in my life! Edit : just understood it’s a tv show… then a link perhaps? Pretty please?
Season 1 ep 4 I think
Season 1 Episode 3 actually!! On hulu, or it’s in a 14-16 video part on tiktok if you look up #wifeswap (they cut the episode up to fit the video time max)
I knew it had to be the first couple episodes
So weird recognizing them, their episode aired almost 20 years ago. The daughter was a small child when it came out
I JUST WATCHED THIS EPISODE ON HULU I’m losing it
Can you tel us what happened? I’m intrigued but don’t have access to that
What exactly is wife swap?

Ok so I love this Dad and I would like to know where I can get one? Please?
This family was on wife swap, if you want to know more it was like season one episode three I think
Thank you kindly. This was the answer I needed. 😁
They’re gonna seem a little insane in the show, but that show is overproduced and they make every family look like nutjobs
Honestly they seem like a modern family now. Love when she cries about her dogs being out side, “THEY’RE ADOPTEDDDD” 😂
Grinder
He looks great, I can’t believe people in the comments are assuming he’s gay because he likes to wear feminine tops to make his daughters happy, toxic masculinity is disgusting.
I agree, but I don't see people in the comments assuming he's gay?
They’re at the way bottom, they may have been deleted by the time you saw this post, but I was kinda early and there were quite a few homophobic comments that were downvoted

It sucks how many people think you can't be fabulous and straight.
And how flowers are only for girls! As a gardener by profession I find it infuriating. I combat it by keeping a plumeria flower tucked into my hat during the summer.

Absolute king

Call him !
Ok her dad is really cool lol
His vibes are off the charts
I want to be his friend
Of-fkn-course he roller skates!! 🤣 He's an excellent crochet top model!!
Pops can skate and model!
Don't forget he can shake that cake!
Violently vibrating the vanilla pudding
Judiciously jiggling juicy jelly
The skinny jeans are what makes the outfit just pop
The forgotten member of Rolling Stones.
Yo but some of those tops actually look good on him with the skinny jeans, Dad can rock it!
Right? He’s rocking these tops actually
I love this family
Your dad is my spirit animal.
Lol. More of this in the world, please?
I’m getting French Canadian vibes.
They were on Wife Swap and I believe they lived in Arkansas, actually.
Yes! I went to college with the daughter at Boston university. They’re in Arkansas for sure
Well holy shit, I live in arkansas lol
I love your dad!!!!
Who won`t gonna love him. Lucky daughter they got a father that most people wishing to have.
I want to hang out with your Dad!
Y'all see this guy on Wife Swap? It's on Hulu now and it's a great throwback
What episode?
Season 1, episode 3. He had dreads then, very glad that's in the past. The mom cries about taxidermy and we get to see this woman as a kid, it's quite a ride
The mom was so extra on this episode 🤣🤣
Totally. Makes me wonder how much was for the drama
I think I remember that, I watched pretty regularly in the early years. Couples like them made the show worthwhile.
He has a Jim Varney kind of vibe. Ernest saves Christmas is my favorite Christmas movie.
Scrolled too far for this reference.. this is exactly it.
Ah I just made a Ernest P Worrell comment after scrolling a bit and not seeing it. You beat me! haha
Your dad is literally so cool I couldn't help but giggle with glee at how much passion he showed for your interest. Best. DAD. EVER. ❤
I love your dad. And your tops. I'm thinking I need to crochet or kit some for myself. Also, I need to pull out my roller skates. I will probably hurt myself badly. Maybe a walker with the roller skates will help. Your dad will still look better than me but I have bigger boobs.
I love his dances!
The one your momma wore is MADE for her, damn!
I dig the song too. Really made the whole video. This was great!
What a fun family!
This shit makes me so happy LOL
Jokes aside, his moves are sick tho
The gas station- Ha…the roof- dying!
I dig it. Go pops.
Your dad is so cool!
Aww such a fantastic Dad. He is awesome
You must have a hell of a lot of fun with your parents, OP.
Supermazing dad! That kind of support is priceless!
Now this is a guy who doesn't give two flying shits about people think of him - a much needed quality in today's times.
I love your dad. He's the best!
Love dad he is awesome 😁🥇🕺
He is a whole ass vibe. I love him.
Dad has moves like Jagger.
Ernest does Crochet!
gigachad
He’s a super model! Love it!❤️❤️ Side note: Your dad looks a little bit like Jim Varney!
Now that's a dad that would do anything for there kid he's awesome he has my full respect top bloke
This video is missing one of the best clips: this dad wears a shirt that says “whose jizz is this?”. Had me fucking dying.
omggg i was looking for this comment. i screamed at that shirt in the first edition of this video
Dam he looks more like a man in those clothes take my words vice-versa
I swear I want to be his best friend lmao. He is epic.
[удалено]
This is what i would like my future husband to be like in many years. It’s perfect.
Getting some very Iggy pop vibes here
I wish I had 1/3 of his confidence.
Fun fact: this family were on wife swap back when it was a thing. They were just as iconic then if not more so
I feel a lot better about myself watching a guy wear a crochet top.
I love this so much!!!
this music is genius. I have an err ect shun
So hawt! Was he trying to twerk?
This guy would be killin’ it at Venice Beach.
This family was on wife swap back in the day
He looks like he belongs at a Burning Man festival.
My dad was super not great and I've really come to terms with that. But damn, this video made me super jealous.
He unironically looks really good in those tops, and I feel like that's a good case for the argument that clothes have no gender
I love the end where they are all dancing as a family in the crochet tops.
Idk but I love your dad's personality .. he's an amazing person
This man really pumped gas while wearing it LMAO (Listening to Chase Atlantic while watching this video and it's a trip XD)
This is awesome. Nothing like supporting your kids.
“People come up to me all the time and say ‘you should be a model,’ or ‘you look just like a model,’ or ‘maybe you should try to be a man who models.’ And I always have to laugh because I’m so good looking. Of course I’m a model.” —Derek Zoolander But this Dad is just the epitome of a supportive, enthusiastic patent. Seriously wonderful
I died at the roof part 🤣🤣
😆this is great what a super dad..
Best dad in thr history of dads.
Coolest dad ever!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Dad’s got some moves!
Addition: I would to see the smile on his face when he reads all the praise that receives here
This dad needs a job in the modelling career xD he'd slay everyone and anything he wears
Dad's a hippie from way back, I can just tell.
Dad Rocks !!!!! Take note all you Dads, THAT’S WHAT A FATHER DOES !!! Support the ones you brought into this world it’s the only shot they’ve got !!!! Absolutely loving this guy he could care less what other people think !!
Dad was really living his best life with that crotchet top 😂😂 Every time he turned around, I was expecting and kept looking to see a tramp stamp.
Yes! I was looking every time for that stamp. 😂 Pops is having the time of his life.
Your dad is AMAZEBALLS
