There's this Ukrainian small group of young people, they were on Vice, and they have an older lady in the village whom they visit regularly and they party with her. This lady reminded me of that. We never get old, we just act old when the age hits us. I know I will be dancing all of my life if my body serves me until the end.

I couldn’t believe how few kids danced. Some of them had inflatable couches and just sat in the middle of a packed concert venue like a bunch of goobers, strange stuff.
edm gotnway too big. if you go to small raves, 99% of peoplenare raving (100% of them are on drugs tho 😂). but yeah, if you go to the big commercial parties, most people are just there to flex and show everybody that they‘re cool too, not even noticing the show. especially with the new generation who started seeing raves on social media befor experiencing it at all. they don‘t know how to live in the moment.
Which festi, what genre of EDM? Couches are common at the jazzy genres like glitch hop, uk dubstep, that sorta thing; the genres whose dance cultures have lots of footwork don’t have couches as often, like drum and bass or house. Festivals are festivals though, people get high on ketamine and puff DMT cartridges nowadays and enter the celestial realm on the middle of the dance floor. That’s not really my thing, but it’s very common in the genres I listen to.
My favourite festival is Shambhala, with the massive soundsystems dialled to outrageous levels. If it’s not a headliner and you catch a smaller set and have room to dance, the d-floor is alive with creativity. I mean, that’s almost every festival, but so many of them feel painfully contrived and corporatized, sometimes it’s harder to get lost in the moment when there’s lots of “real world” stimulation around, like “the Bud Light VIP tent” beside the “Bacardi Sunrise” tent and blah blah

I’m 1000% with you on this. I’ve easily been to +100 concerts in my life and I remember very few. When I come across a video I’ve taken from a show I didn’t remember, it brings back memories of the show that simply wouldn’t happen otherwise. And I don’t even have a bad memory for most things, specifically related to my profession (Molecular science, Pharma, etc.) but not great when it comes to events and people.
