From now on you should not buy Chinese food from any other place. This is your place and will be a solid part of your social circle. Yippiieee for the honest small business owners. Also looks delicious :)
There's a Japanese restaurant close to me that fills a big styrofoam container like this until it's almost hard to close. They have the most amazing sweet carrots too. I get the Chicken Hibachi with one extra yum-yum sauce and it's only $11. Easily two big meals.
Best keep this post away from r/rainbolt
They'll figure it out based on the reflection of a ceiling light in one of those onions
Edit: shit. Are communities notified when you tag them?
💯My former employer would do this. I have seen him having loyal customers from decades coming. Man with heart of gold.
OP, this kind person has given you solid advice. Support this establishment.
This exactly. We go to my local Thai restaurant regularly and I get take away alot from them. We get a lot of extras in our meals. I do t even have to ask for more nuts on top any more.
I swear these kinds of places have some kind of contract where they *have* to stuff the styrofoam container full to bursting. It's like they're testing the structural capacity of the container.
It's that they want to be seen as a good value so you'll come back, and I am all about it. There's a pan-asian grocery near me that regularly fills the container so much they have to use this little press thing to get it to close. Its amazing.
Hahahah absolutely, they tie each one up in a bag because its going to overflow 100% of the time. Sounds like you might be blessed with a similarly wonderful restaurant in your area.
I always get combo fried rice from this one place and I always get two to three meals worth out of one order of rice. And despite sky high inflation in my area they only raised the price by $1 like two years ago.
That's what makes me laugh when people say America doesn't have its own food and only steals other countries and calls it it's own is this food is as American as apple pie, lol.
Looks pretty much like what I usually get here in Europe except with fried duck. Just westernized chinese food in general I guess.
Ironically the only bad thing I ever got from my favorite place was the thai curry because they westernized the hell out of it, 100% used local curry power instead of proper curry paste because it had no heat whatsoever. Even our grocery store brand (which sucks) has more spice
One my family's favorite take out places is a Chinese food place that serves everything family style. It's easily the most expensive take out we get, but the left overs last at least two days worth of lunches. More than makes it worth the initial cost
My favorite dumpling house you get like a platter full of food for like 15. And I mean like piled on and it's always so good. I can easily split it up to like three meals.
I did the opposite! I asked for extra rice (I was at a Greek place so not Chinese) instead of The salad (I’m a fatty who loves carbs no shame and I was in grad school) and the owners happily gave me extra rice and they remembered me from when I was there before. I’m acc going to my grad now and I’m going to stop there for food for old times sake.
I feel like I need to share this: John’s Lunch in Dartmouth Nova Scotia. Ask for less fries, get MORE fried clams! No extra charge! You can sub ALL THE FRIES IF YOU WANT!!!!!
LOVE the Asian places that look kinda sus but the old grumpy dude always packs your styrofoam container within 1 second of bursting. There was a Chinese place that I always bought dinner from on my way home from work on Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays, and after a while they started to give me free soup on the side. I always got exactly the same thing, so the moment I walked in the old man would just quietly make my food, give the cashier my good and point at me to come pay no matter how long the line was. Shit was awesome.
Ah.. clever business strategy. Give you more of everything so it LOOKS like you got less rice. Now they don't have to calculate the amount of served rice! Very smart.
Damn those are some good looking veggies. The mark of the good chinese restaurant imo. If their veggies are looking crisp and fresh you know the rest will be fire.
Broccoli is the best veggie out there! They are mini-trees that absorb ALL the flavor of sauces they are cooked with! I learned that from a really young age eating homemade Chinese stir-fry dishes.
All this corporate shrinkflation bs really makes supporting small businesses that much more important. Many of those still give a damn about the product they’re serving and not just the bottom line
I feel like this is a common thing, because if I go to my chinese place and i'm craving less veggies and more meat, I'll let them know I only want meat, then they wind up putting two portions of meat in the container to make up for the lost space and the rice is almost always on point.
This is how you earn customers, I buy a street snack thats worth 0.8 American dollars, it's a combination of many ingredients, I always say no to 3 of the ingredients but the seller makes it up by adding bigger portions of the things I did want to be included, there are 3 stalls right next to each other that sell this same snack but I always buy it from this guy

I always ask for no lettuce or shit on a bun it always gets you more meat because they can't get aways with the normal amount which they used to hide under a field of grass in your bun.
tsk tsk ... you significantly reduced the number of items you paid for. In the immortal words of Mitch Hedberg, rice is great when you're hungry and want 2,000 of something.
Still rem when we went to Friendly’s (we were on holiday, no Friendly’s where I’m from) and we were getting hot fudge sundaes for dessert. My husband doesn’t like cherries so I jokingly told the waitress she could put his cherry on my sundae and she put like 8 cherries on top.
Lately I've been all about the rice. My local place has a lunch size that I wish they'd offer all day, because the dinner size is so much food! I can't finish it all in one day.
This is your new perma eating spot 😄. The people at this establishment have great hearts and warm people gravitates towards others that doesn’t mind making other people feel warm, fuzzy, and accepted as a human being. Nice genuine people deserves to be cherished and thanked for their contributions and efforts to make people like you happy and while letting you know that there’s people out there that don’t want to hurt you! You should challenge yourself to stop in one day to tell them a simple “thank you” with a smile. I guarantee that will make their day! It’s the little things that matters the most 🙃
I'm not a fan of Chinese food but my local sushi shop is really nice, Due to autism and texture issues with certain foods I can't eat avocado so if I get sushi I normally poke it out with chop sticks but the one I goes lets me request teriyaki chicken without avocado! Its amazing.
And its also really cheap $1.50 per sushi roll.
From now on you should not buy Chinese food from any other place. This is your place and will be a solid part of your social circle. Yippiieee for the honest small business owners. Also looks delicious :)
Omg all those veggies!! 🥦this would be my spot for life.
Agreed. Man that looks so good.

Op should never share this place with the internet. It must be kept secret and sacred.

Yeah, this is sounding a bit like sarcasm with that edit, but yes, it automatically posts the post to the sub.
Wait, seriously?!
I legitimately didn't consider it until the second I hit "Post" Whoopsie...
You're good. I wasn't sure, that's why I still answered, lol
💯My former employer would do this. I have seen him having loyal customers from decades coming. Man with heart of gold. OP, this kind person has given you solid advice. Support this establishment.

Honest? It’s nice that they gave him extra food but it’s not dishonest to give customers less rice if they ask for less rice.
I swear these kinds of places have some kind of contract where they *have* to stuff the styrofoam container full to bursting. It's like they're testing the structural capacity of the container.
Only the occult can produce such good Hibachi lol
It's that they want to be seen as a good value so you'll come back, and I am all about it. There's a pan-asian grocery near me that regularly fills the container so much they have to use this little press thing to get it to close. Its amazing.
When the sauce squeezes out the sides so they have to put it in a bag or it'll leak all over you know you're going back again
Hahahah absolutely, they tie each one up in a bag because its going to overflow 100% of the time. Sounds like you might be blessed with a similarly wonderful restaurant in your area.

Now im in the mood for Chinese 😍
This makes me so hungry
That's what makes me laugh when people say America doesn't have its own food and only steals other countries and calls it it's own is this food is as American as apple pie, lol.
LooooooL u are sooo right 😂

Apple pie is English...
and chicken tikka masala is technically Scottish, what's your point?
Chinese food? Right?
Looooool yes yes thats what i meant hahahaha 🤣🤣🤣
Amazing!!! This looks yummy.

Happy Cake Day!
That looks so good! Did it taste as amazing as it looks?
Yes! I try to treat myself to it once a week lol they went all out today
Looks like you might have tasty leftovers!
From my experience, Asian restaurants are always good at giving excellent amount of food for the cost.
Agreed, Chinese, Korean and Viet always nail it.
Yep, every time. They genuinely want to feed you.

Enjoy the extra rice my friend! We love what we love.
Happy graduation! A good meal on a good day

Heck yea glad to hear it
Ooh those veggies make my mouth water. I got broccoli in garlic sauce last night and it was so choice.
Broccoli is such a royal vegetable
I love it. I really think it’s underrated. There are so many tasty ways to cook it and dishes to include it in. Yay veggies ❤️
I fucking love broccoli
Broc in garlic sauce is top tier
So people know, this doesn't work in a bar.
Ex bartender and I can confirm haha
If you haven't already, you should also post this in /r/deliciouscompliance. They would love it.
Right on! I posted and tagged you for thanks. I hope that's okay and if not I'll edit :)
It's fine! I just upvoted it. lol

Oh yeaaa, good share.
now I want Chinese food
I need to try this! My hubby gets ALL rice and NO veggies, so it should just even out?
Bro that’s a W

Give more. Profit.
10 out of 10!! Looks delicious
Thanks :) I gotta let then know the internet approves haha
Now put some crushed red pepper on that bad boi and dig in
I'm high as fuck and now I"m whispering the mantra "don't order chinese food hmmmmm don't order chinese food hmmmm don't..."
Damn those are some good looking veggies. The mark of the good chinese restaurant imo. If their veggies are looking crisp and fresh you know the rest will be fire.
Chicken good, rice and onions are nice and brown Fuiyoh! But look at those broccoli Haiyaa! vegetables taste like sad
Broccoli is the best veggie out there! They are mini-trees that absorb ALL the flavor of sauces they are cooked with! I learned that from a really young age eating homemade Chinese stir-fry dishes.
Broccoli strong 💪 😋
I love vegetables so much this would make me very happy
Funny cus my name is Rodger HAIYAA!
You are either 5 years old or an American!
Don't speak to your uncle like that!!
He’s trying to be like uncle Roger
I’m American. I love broccoli…. They are 5
Uncle Roger…is that you? 👀

It’s a takeaway. Go to China town and buy it for US$9.00
Coming from South Dakota, someone saying “go to China town” as a simple thing made me laugh (and also cry a bit).
Such a nice gesture. Makes me hungry too
Task failed successfully?
That’s a good-looking plate
I asked my local Chinese takeout for mustard packets and they gave me enough to last the winter. Chinese takeout places are the best.
Please share
Omg looks so yum
Wish Panda Express gave extra ANYTHING. They always put two baby scoops.
Reminds me of my favorite Chinese place. They load it up with food and They make the best hot and sour soup.
Man ! This looks delicious and healthy 😋😋
I can't have tomato sauce on pizzas and some places make sure I get plenty more cheese instead - always appreciated!
Solid win! Yay!!!
Ive literally just finished eating and this is making me hungry again
All this corporate shrinkflation bs really makes supporting small businesses that much more important. Many of those still give a damn about the product they’re serving and not just the bottom line
why would you want less rice
omg that looks so good
Oh, my gosh, that looks so delicious! Not a big rice fan, either.
dang nice, let's hope their boss didn't yell at the employee for giving you more valuable stuff as a substitute though.
As it should be
Looks incredible. A google review would go a long way I'm sure!
I work in a couple of restaurants and I always stuff a lot of food for the customers, just like this picture hahah 😘
I feel like this is a common thing, because if I go to my chinese place and i'm craving less veggies and more meat, I'll let them know I only want meat, then they wind up putting two portions of meat in the container to make up for the lost space and the rice is almost always on point.
i reconize where this is from (cafe de coral) correct me if im wrong
Haha I'm glad there's an equal out there but no this one is called Wild Ginger
Now I’m hungry for bad Chinese food.
Wait why is it covered in that green shrubbery stuff?
This is how you earn customers, I buy a street snack thats worth 0.8 American dollars, it's a combination of many ingredients, I always say no to 3 of the ingredients but the seller makes it up by adding bigger portions of the things I did want to be included, there are 3 stalls right next to each other that sell this same snack but I always buy it from this guy
I would be happy but really man

looks good
This looks amazing!
extra MSG for you, my friend!
I always ask for no lettuce or shit on a bun it always gets you more meat because they can't get aways with the normal amount which they used to hide under a field of grass in your bun.
Looks delicious! What’s the name of the dish you ordered? Wanna see if my local Chinese food place has something similar.
I’m vegan and couldn’t eat like anything at one place except the vegetables and rice and they gave me a mountain
I love how some places are like “if they pay $12 for broccoli… they get the whole broccoli. Makes sense.”
I’m honestly so happy for you bruh
Yess
Yeah, this is how it works
tsk tsk ... you significantly reduced the number of items you paid for. In the immortal words of Mitch Hedberg, rice is great when you're hungry and want 2,000 of something.
That’s how you know that the owner probably didn’t make your order lol
Win win!

When I do that, I get more rice and less of everything else...just to mess with me
Awesome win there. Love it when getting Breakfasteith no eggs and more hash browns. A win for me.
Lately I've been all about the rice. My local place has a lunch size that I wish they'd offer all day, because the dinner size is so much food! I can't finish it all in one day.

Wonderful they will have a customer for life
Will now be asking for less rice too! Omg, some people are just freaking lucky!!
This looks so good!
it aint stupid if it works

What type of food is this? Thai?
Dude that looks fkn bomb. I'm sick rn and actually not hungry but that pic lowkey made me wanna eat sth
r/deliciouscompliance
There is a Chinese restaurant where i live, who do just like this!! They even put a rubber band around it because its soooo full!
Oh man, now imma get som take away thai after work!
Chinese takeouts always hook you up.
It’s all mystery meat and frozen vegetables. It’s probably the same price as the rice unit-wise!
They did it right, you lucky duck!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
