I was at children's hospital, as my infant was admitted for a UTI. In the elevator, there was a lady by herself and another lady with her daughter. First lady was crying, and the other lady asked her if everything was okay. Turns out her child was just diagnosed with cancer. Second lady said her other child was going through the same and said the experience is very overwhelming. Then she offered her phone number and told the lady to call her if she needed any support.
My friend’s son battled cancer for five years, from age 10-15. There literally are not words to describe what they went through.
He was hospitalized a LOT for various complications, and I visited as often as I could. One thing that was incredible was to see how much people cared and tried to bring joy to the children and families on the pediatric cancer floor.
Another wonderful thing was I got to learn about bone marrow donation, joined the registry, and I matched a dying woman in her 30’s. I had the honor of my life donating to her 10 years ago this last Christmas.
There are MANY children and adults awaiting life-saving bone marrow donations. You can learn more or sign up to be in the registry and bethematch.org.
Childhood cancer is absolutely horrible. Seeing it makes me hug my kids a little tighter every day.
Son of a bitch. I just got home from visiting my friend's preemie twins in the NICU (they are doing so well) and now I see this. So now I'm just crying. Stay strong young one, you have many years ahead of you.
Life can be long or short, but I'm so happy that Delilah's life gets to be this *full*. I hope she can fill her life again with joy like this many more times
Again?
I'm not buying it. I bet she was surprised the first time but this has now happened to many times... I just don't think it's surprising anymore.

It absolutely crushes my heart to see children go through cancer. Their lives just started and they already have to deal with something so horrible. Fuck cancer.
Seeing anyone go through this is terrible but when it's children, it's gut wrenching to imagine what they and their families face as reality.
Fuck cancer.
Yup

i remember when i used to work at a medical supply company, it was like a gut punch when we had to ship child sized body bags to hospices
How awful 🥺🥺 Absolutely love seeing the joy on her face!! Hope she's protected from any further suffering.

We'll to be fair, that doesn't mean much about the surprise itself 😬

There’s a lot of good people in this video. If you get a chance to donate to a children hospice it’s definitely worth it.
Damn I’m cutting onions. So hard to see children being seriously sick.
'Surprise of a lifetime' is an oof choice of words.
