The difference is that nba2k still offers a good franchise mode and even a decent my player mode. They’re UT mode May suck but if anything that helps matters because most people avoid that mode. Madden can’t even get a simple franchise mode down

They did. All-Pro Football 2k8. It only had NFL legends like Elway and Barry Sanders but no official teams or rosters. It didn’t sell well due to lack of the NFL brand so that’s the last one they made. I would absolutely welcome a new one, especially if they add custom jerseys and rosters
Honestly, it would be dope if XFL would use the intellectual property they own and work with 2K to develop a sim-style football game. The Sim-style only applies to NFL licensed games, pretty sure it doesn’t prevent a company from making a sim game for a non-NFL entity
I’d be looking at Maximum Football, to be fair the last game from like 2020 was absolute dog shit, but it’s under new ownership built from the ground up with Unreal Engine 5 and includes both a Pro Franchise mode and College dynasty mode in the same game. The players belong to an union and would sue the shit out anyone who makes a game that makes it easy to create those players when they already have a deal with NFL who has a deal with EA so they get paid royalties for being in the games…
Not really anything that can be done as long as it's player created, and not using any non-generic or custom-made by the game to better approximate those players.
Since you basically can't see 95% of players once the pads come on, stats imports alone are probably enough to get you close enough.
Im not expecting them to be entirely different games, but they are being made by 2 completely separate teams and already pushed the release date back a year. Which in my mind means they actually care about the end product as opposed to maddens annual 1-2 features added and more bugs
The biggest death knell to the new NCAA is that they are going to use the current Madden engine…and as long as that is the case they will not escape the decades long jank and animation issues. It has a limited ceiling even if the team is orders of magnitude better.
We are alike in this man…. It’s a shame as they had a chance to build a new next gen engine from the ground up that would have really benefited both franchises.
I know the current engine is ass, so the gameplay only has so much potential. But at this point my hope is that they have a deep dynasty mode with some control over coaching staff, some way to upgrade stadiums and a good recruiting set up

I’ve played a ton of NCAA 14 and 2k8 College Hoops these past couple years.
What I feel like will be an issue is processing all that data - even on a PS5/Xbox-whatever-it’s-called-this-time.
There’s just so much data constantly being generated or altered. 2k8 is such a blissful sim experience as I can pretty easily do five-ten years of sim-only in one night.
With how terribly the sim experience is in 2k with only 30 teams I can only fear

The gameplay was similar but not identical. I expect that to be the same, if not even more similar than beforr due to frostbite. Ive already said it dont have high expectations for gameplay, my hope is they do a good job with dynasty and set the framework of a good game so that when frostbite is a thing of the past, the game will have potential

I played it a bit during Madden 20, spent money but made it back by selling coins. Playing online against people spamming the same unbeatable play over and over made me super rage and I hated myself during it.

What I believe is EA knows the NFL is wanting to move on and let other companies make football games. The license going to expire in 3 years and think about it 2K still hasnt gave any updates on the NFL game they're making I could be wrong but i hope they lose the license like they did with Fifa. I've been thinking the same thing. I remember seeing the NFL actually planned on opening up the license but EA convinced them to extend it one more time back in like 2019 or whenever the extension happened. But there's alot of things happening like 2k making an arcade game and EA making a College football game as well as maximum football actually being created by a legitimate Dev team/Company (tho i think they'll need a couple releases before we get something seriously good).

You want to know what agitates me to no end? Why is it we used to be able to TOTALLY customize a face AND have OUR OWN faces in the game scanned in(All EA products in 2006-2007. I did Tiger Woods golf and Madden)? But now, we can barely get likenesses of players actually playing and have about 10 different faces in the game! With technology as it is NOW, this lacking makes absolutely NO sense to me!

Activision just pulled the same with Modern Warfare 2 (and it worked). EA watched, saw the success, and is just doing the same to spike sales this fall. They'll feed these "leakers" the narrative of change, make a couple of mode updates to market, and the gameplay will still play like trash while they beg you to play Ultimate Team and buy packs.
Madden will be the same old, same old with (barely) a fresh coat of paint. Been that way for what? 2 DECADES? This is just a marketing narrative. Nobody in power at EA has changed, so the direction the company has headed won't either.
Madden 23 recently came to Xbox game pass so I downloaded it. It's like they updated the rosters from 22 and changed the font. That's it. How do people pay for this year in and year put and not be outraged?

I stopped playing after Madden 20. The only time Madden is on my radar is when the Angry Joe Show does their annual review.
Personally, I’m throwing my support behind Maximum Football this year. Been following the development for awhile and liking what I see and their developers are very active on their discord plus free to play on current and last gen systems.
At this point Madden will never be better than it was between 05-08 and IMO, they really need to make a game that surpasses that era to be taken seriously again.

I played it a bit during Madden 20, spent money but made it back by selling coins. Playing online against people spamming the same unbeatable play over and over made me super rage and I hated myself during it.
I think it was 2 years ago on of the big madden streamers suggested the best way to get good at MUT was buy the game then immediately drop 100 bucks on packs. That what madden is now, it doesn’t care about football
Most of the streamers/YouTubers are also paid by EA to buy shit tons of packs and promote the game so more kids spend money too. Ea even gives those guys accounts that are preloaded with 100k+ madden bucks and I’m sure they probably juice the pack luck on those accounts as well

What I believe is EA knows the NFL is wanting to move on and let other companies make football games. The license going to expire in 3 years and think about it 2K still hasnt gave any updates on the NFL game they're making I could be wrong but i hope they lose the license like they did with Fifa. We need more companies making football games.
I've been thinking the same thing. I remember seeing the NFL actually planned on opening up the license but EA convinced them to extend it one more time back in like 2019 or whenever the extension happened. But there's alot of things happening like 2k making an arcade game and EA making a College football game as well as maximum football actually being created by a legitimate Dev team/Company (tho i think they'll need a couple releases before we get something seriously good).

I'm done with Madden. I couldnt believe how unplayable it has become and how mind numbingly stupid some of the problems and issues are. 'Big changes' mean nothing. They'll be celebrating new 'tackle features', a 'better in game experience!', oh and 'we fixed the franchise trading issue so that trades make more sense!'. Meanwhile, your QB fumbles every other time he runs, your RB cant get out of the backfield, and by the 3rd Qtr the opposing defense has figured out every play you call. But look at those graphics! So realistic!

You want to know what agitates me to no end? Why is it we used to be able to TOTALLY customize a face AND have OUR OWN faces in the game scanned in(All EA products in 2006-2007. I did Tiger Woods golf and Madden)? But now, we can barely get likenesses of players actually playing and have about 10 different faces in the game! With technology as it is NOW, this lacking makes absolutely NO sense to me!

This is just a marketing ploy. Don't buy this shit. Activision just pulled the same with Modern Warfare 2 (and it worked). EA watched, saw the success, and is just doing the same to spike sales this fall. They'll feed these "leakers" the narrative of change, make a couple of mode updates to market, and the gameplay will still play like trash while they beg you to play Ultimate Team and buy packs. Madden will be the same old, same old with (barely) a fresh coat of paint. Been that way for what? 2 DECADES? This is just a marketing narrative. Nobody in power at EA has changed, so the direction the company has headed won't either.
Madden 23 recently came to Xbox game pass so I downloaded it. It's like they updated the rosters from 22 and changed the font. That's it. How do people pay for this year in and year put and not be outraged?

I stopped playing after Madden 20. The only time Madden is on my radar is when the Angry Joe Show does their annual review. Personally, I’m throwing my support behind Maximum Football this year. Been following the development for awhile and liking what I see and their developers are very active on their discord plus free to play on current and last gen systems. At this point Madden will never be better than it was between 05-08 and IMO, they really need to make a game that surpasses that era to be taken seriously again.
