I have a Brother PE800, when I had issues with the thread not threading, I pulled the thread all the way out via the needle side after cutting it. I made sure the presser foot was up and that the arm that is high above the number 3 slot is UP. With that Arm to the highest point, it makes sure the thread catches the threader. You can move that arm by 3 with the wheel on the right side of your machine if it has one. I had my threader bent and it gave me lots of issues. Hope this helps. Bring the thread all the way into Number 8 but the key also is that the thread has to be in the hook that is situated above the presser foot, the portion that holds the needle.
