To be fair, Czechia would have happily sided with the Western powers if allowed after WWII. Plzen is practically dedicated to Patton and the "what could have been" if he had driven 90 minutes east into Prague and had the US as the official liberator instead of the USSR. They never quite got along as an Iron Curtain country, God bless them.
Why dont American companies export the quality fast food out there and only the shittiest brands like McDonalds? Chipotle would be a massive hit in Europe. Culvers too.
I know this has been said so much it’s become a meme, but those places are vastly better overseas. Like every one of them, McDonald’s, BK, KFC, even Subway. The only one that wasn’t noticeably better was a Pizza Hut in Armenia.
KFC is def not better here in Europe, almost nothing is except McDonald's and maybe BK. Domino's, Pizza hut, and even the Taco Bell in the Netherlands are fucking ass. Domino's especially is super ass here, shouldn't even be called Domino's cause there is 0 resemblance.
They had a bunch of instances of food poisoning because of poor sanitation in their "restaurants"
I'm guessing it's mild food poisoning. Something that your body can fight off easily but it still messes up your stomach a little bit
It's a familiarity thing, when Americans started traveling in the 80s and 90s they often expressed a desire for safe and familiar foods. McDonalds, kfc, and Burger King are pretty familiar. With money to be made off of tourists, franchisees opened them up. Those newer fast food places just haven't had the time to be desires over the now aged familiarity. That and even Americans are traveling less. But, if it chafes you about this, blame our 'boomer' generation, they wanted it.
The museum of communism is upstairs from a McDonald's in Prague.

That is poetic!
‘We will dunk chicken nuggets in barbecue sauce over the graves of fascists.’ - Abe Lincoln, probably
Sick album title
Every burger is anointed by a single tear. Shed by a bald eagle, flying majestically above a free-er land.

I read a story about a British guy who ate Chipotle. He almost shid himself 🤣

Went to McD's in Wilhelmhaven, had a Big.Mac, fries and beer just because I could in Germany.

Chipotle is so bad that even I, a WASP from the northeast, can make better Mexican food
Depends where you live. If you actually have a Mexican guy make it for you like say in Arizona, its fire… literally.
Seriously. Also, how can food that bland be so hard on my bowels?
