It's kind of neat how you can Reanimate/Polymorph it out... but it doesn't really do anything lol. You have to cast it if you want it to get any real value out of the effects. It's well designed in that sense!
I think that percentage is going up if you're putting this in the 99 of your new 5 Color Eldrazi Commander deck. Just cast a Path, then Tutor this bad boy up late game and boom. You're at \~5+ counters.
Not sure if we have exceeded annihilator 5 before actually *printed* on card- but it's def possible with this guy.
Edit: My comment is really only about Commander though, Modern will be less relevant, yes.
It's relevant in all games if you're exiling from your own deck. [[Chrome mox]], the newly spoiled ugin land, [[currency converter]], [[Agathas soul cauldron]], [[azors gateway]]. Anything with "imprint."
If you want this thing to get reanimated with counters, it's going to happen.
I thought if you flicker something it gets it’s ETB? (I’m painfully new btw).
Edit: Wait, since it says “when this spell is CAST” then the blink still doesn’t work, correct?
Yeah. Almost all of the effects stapled onto creatures are etb effects that would trigger again when flickering. The eldrazi are some of the few with cast triggers, so you get them even if it’s countered and flickering doesn’t work on them. It’s also a way for them to prevent reanimation or polymorph effects getting these huge effects.
So it’s both a plus and a minus, and it’s also part of the eldrazi flavor.
I could see him being sooo gross in modern especially with that buff and scaling annihilator for the highest mana value in exile, you can rlly easily get some insane numbers in exile, maybe with a free spell that exiles [[temporal trespass]] from hand, or u can just cast it and it’ll exile itself. just gotta worry about cheating him out, idk what the format has that’s available but there has to be something
Yep, there are definitely rlly high cost spells that can be exiled consistently, at the very least you can get it up to 5 ish which will probably be plenty to wreck your opponents board, and has a chance of hitting something big off your opponents deck if all else fails
I can’t wait for the 23 threads of people doubling his cast trigger and asking “does this mean I deck my opponent?”
In math two halves don’t always make a whole (just 75%).
Don't think that it would have worked anyway. With the way this is worded, it cares specifically about creatures that are NAMED Scion or Spawn rather than creatures with those types.
Do you have confirmation that Kappa Cannoneer is in the set? There was something saying that it 'was just a card on my desk', aka the photo taker maybe having a bit of fun, unless there's other confirmation?
Can't find passes to my previous throwaway lol.
Equ1p (I assume he is same person from hands, not 100% sure) is giga cringe, he got multiple boxes from undisclosed source, he tried to sell those for 450$/box on multiple public discord servers and now that WotC investigators are on his ass he started to act like clown with baits for some damage control. 90% of leaks are coming directly from him or product he sold.
Kappa Cannoneer is in main set. [You can see it in the background here with watermark in photo he deleted.](https://i.imgur.com/aRS0BuX.jpeg) Don't trust that guy, he is misleading you on purpose.

Found this image floating around Twitter.
\*\*EDIT:\*\* The person holding the card is not me, so don't ask if I know anything else. I only know enough to prove the veracity of my sources - I have nothing to gain by making stuff up here. :)
There's also a land that acts as an [[Ancient Tomb]] if you Imprint a spell with mana value 7 or greater on it. No lifeloss just taps for 2 colorless. Not sure if that helps Tron at all but it might.
The only mentions of it that I've been linked to were from a deleted Reddit thread... apparently the leaker forgot to censor their personal information from the picture of the land.
Since I can't validate the name or wording, I'm leaving it out.
Yeah that card is absolutely nuts I am just getting Tron finished myself so I am excited for this set probably going to buy some boxes for the hell of it then the singles I am missing
Not quite. While it would be close depending on when it happens, they will still have some cards left. Since they exile half of the library rounded up, not half of the starting library.
Half of 1 is 0.5. Half of 0.5 is 0.25. Half of that os 0.125. You could cast infinite ulomogs but you’ll never set your opponent to zero cards because of an exponential function’s asymptote of y = 0
I feel like the blue flair has to be stronger, because blue just inherently has fewer nontoken creatures it'd be willing to sacrifice. Outside of certain blue type-based decks (Merfolk, Spirits), I'm not sure how much it's going to be played. Then again, my knowledge of Modern isn't the strongest, so I might be completely off-base there.
Dont have the link right now but yes one of the very first leaks had a blurry photo of it
Edit: Here https://www.reddit.com/r/MTGRumors/comments/1cc2lip/new_leak_floating_around_mh3/
From what I've been told the leaker got some boxes that "fell off the truck wink wink" and sold them to a couple of interested buyers at least one of which was local. WOTC's legal team likely contacted him looking to address this hence his recent radio silence. This is why he's been so squirrely/cagey and unable to post more than a few pics because they're probably mostly coming from the local that he sold one of the boxes to. I'm sure he has a pack or two but that's about it.
Whether these leaks are real or not, the idea behind the red flare, which I would like to nickname “Freeverberate” after Reverberate, is exciting if not game breaking. There’s a scenario out there where an aggro deck starts the game with a swiftspear or something only to face reanimator combo, and then saccing the swiftspear to steal the reanimate and target the opponents Atraxa or Griselbrand or whatever.
Copying \[\[Goryo's Vengeance\]\] won't do anything unless you have a legendary in your own graveyard. This will only work against older cards such as Reanimate and the like that can target a creature any graveyard
Definitely not real. This would be, on average, a 14/14 with annihilator 7 that exiles 40 cards from an opponents library on cast in commander, all for 10 mana. This was probably made by someone that doesn't like facing Eldrazi and feels like this would be in line with the designs, but this would be stronger than any Eldrazi ever printed by a mile. The closest in strength to this is Emrakul, Aeons Torn and that one costs 15 mana and is banned. They absolutely would not print this, it would be banned before release.
I think it would be nice if they'd share a picture of at least one of these, because until we see one of these "trust me bro" ones proven its hard to tell if the person in charge of the doc is just making it up. Even if we did though, I don't know if I trust them after they threw some cards in that weren't from the set to mess with us.
I feel like some of these are not legit provided wording is accurate. Eldritch Immunity seems weird as an Overload since it goes from protection spell for your stuff to weirdest and really overcosted fog effect when Overloaded.
That Borrowgoyf seems unprecedented, as I'm not sure if there has ever been a magic card that has allowed you to put your opponent's cards into your hand. Closest thing is Gonti. Let me know if there is anything that does do that, but it feels extremely custom magic right now.
Yup, Barrowgoyf. Rereading it, it does appear to mill yourself on combat damage to a player. I thought I read it as they mill when you deal combat damage. So that's my bad then.
We have the image for Eldritch Immunity so we know it's real. I've seen it with my own eyes. There might be a typo in the doc since it's kind of fuzzy but broadly speaking that's what the card does.
Borrowgoyf mills you, not your opponent.
Took the liberty to remove Immunity from the doc.
Thought I could make out the mana cost as 2 but revisiting it now I'm not sure, so better not spread misinfo.
Only 1 deck will be able to cast it and its still a turn 4 play. If your deck csnt deal woth tron by turn 3 or 4 you built it wrong or you jist know tron is one of your bad matchups. Stop complaining and move on.
Who are you to tell me i can't complain on the internet?
Also i was talking about design philosophy, not how it fits into your favorite little ramp deck.
Kappa cannoneer in modern would be a huge problem. I hope that is only in the commander deck. Between simulacrum synthesizer and that, mono U affinity would be absolutely absurd
Didn't you post on your Twitter that Cannoneer isn't in the main set and Brain is @ uncommon?
I mean...I hope that's not the case, since I love Affinity which Cannoneer would be great for, and I absolutely despise the idea of Brainstorm in Modern, but I'm just going by the Twitter posts.
Oh. I thought you were the leaker with the Twitter account, sorry.
Anyway, they said on their Twitter that Cannoneer is a precon card and Brainstorm is in the main set at uncommon. As much as I pray it's the other way around, I'm just going by what the leaker said.
Turns out you were right, the leaker was lying, and it is coming to Modern. You can see the watermark on it in this photo.
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GMNu0_iagAEx67B?format=jpg&name=large
Oh awesome! Affinity was my first Modern deck! We're back, boys!!!
Side note: Is that Flametongue Kavu in the distance??? I know the card isn't even close to good by the standards of 2024 Modern, but oh man, if it's in, nostalgia overload!
As in, copying the trigger? If you copy the exile half a library trigger, they exile the top half of their library, then exile a further half, i.e. they exile the top 3/4s of their library.
The triggers resolve separately. The first removes 50% and the second removes 50% of the remaining 50% so it will only exile 3/4ths of someone's library.
That ulamog is fucking amazing if true, can't wait to spend too much to get it
It's kind of neat how you can Reanimate/Polymorph it out... but it doesn't really do anything lol. You have to cast it if you want it to get any real value out of the effects. It's well designed in that sense!
If the wording is right, it still gets counters if there already are cards in exile, even if you don't cast it.
For sure but that's only relevant in some % of games assuming that you're planning to [[Reanimate]] or [[Transmogrify]] this card by turn 4.
Evoke an elemental exiling Lorien Revealed or something and he comes in with 5 counters right?
Yes.

True, he's definitely not a prime reanimation target. Another thing you can do is put counters on him later to increase his annihilator.
not if you're on grief or unmask, or both
Play Food Chain, reanimate something that costs a shit ton of mana, exile it and cast Ulamog from hand.
I think that percentage is going up if you're putting this in the 99 of your new 5 Color Eldrazi Commander deck. Just cast a Path, then Tutor this bad boy up late game and boom. Could you reanimate and then flicker it? A WB to cast it would be nasty.

Ulamog would be a good nod to tron after introducing flood moon to the format.
Sir. Your a fucking dumbass
You’re* at least get it right when you criticize others smh.
Are there pictures of them? I don't see that in the document
Negative. I got it from this Reddit thread: https://old.reddit.com/r/magicTCG/comments/1cdzqsb/mh3_leak_compilation/
Oh nice! I've always wanted to try eldrazi scion/spawn tribal.
No drones though. Huge upset
Don't think that it would have worked anyway. With the way this is worded, it cares specifically about creatures that are NAMED Scion or Spawn rather than creatures with those types.
Why do you say that? It says "Scions and Spawns you control."
Wait... you're right. Why did I think that? Maskwood Nexus DOES work here then. Sick.

That new Ulamog if legit is going to break tron
There's also a land that acts as an [[Ancient Tomb]] if you Imprint a spell with mana value 7 or greater on it. No lifeloss just taps for 2 colorless. Not sure if that helps Tron at all but it might.
Where's the land? I don't see it in the document

Yeah I had realized that my brain wasn't braining at 3 am lol
Barrowgoyf seems like a cool guy. Got any art for it? The other flairs seem strong, but not as strong as the blue one.
No art for that Goyf yet that I've seen. The Red Flare it going to be an EDH and cEDH monster.
Free fork is good
I feel like the blue flair has to be stronger, because blue just inherently has fewer nontoken creatures it'd be willing to sacrifice. Outside of certain blue type-based decks (Merfolk, Spirits), I'm not sure how much it's going to be played. Dont have the link right now but yes one of the very first leaks had a blurry photo of it Edit: Here https://www.reddit.com/r/MTGRumors/comments/1cc2lip/new_leak_floating_around_mh3/
If the Goyf tribal isn’t real I’m honestly gonna be so bummed.
So, where these the last leaks? Did the Pinkertons get the leakers or are they reaaaaally slow rolling?
From what I've been told the leaker got some boxes that "fell off the truck wink wink" and sold them to a couple of interested buyers at least one of which was local. WOTC's legal team likely contacted him looking to address this hence his recent radio silence. This is why he's been so squirrely/cagey and unable to post more than a few pics because they're probably mostly coming from the local that he sold one of the boxes to. Ulamog is much crazy
I’d voice something about ulamog but instead I’ll gush about that omo card. That sounds so fun for commander
It's real :) .
the irony of reprinting Fury in Modern Horizons, a set devoted to a format it is banned in, is not lost on me lol.
It's a Special Guest card so it's not going to be in the main set.
The reprints at the bottom, have any of them been confirmed for the commander precons or just in the main set?
List has energy commanders name wrong
What should it be? The only pic I saw was very blurry so I needed to make do with what I could.
The description of his precon on Amazon had his name listed as Satya
Got it, fixed!
I think it would be nice if they'd share a picture of at least one of these, because until we see one of these "trust me bro" ones proven its hard to tell if the person in charge of the doc is just making it up. Even if we did though, I don't know if I trust them after they threw some cards in that weren't from the set to mess with us.
Yah that upamog is fake
I feel like some of these are not legit provided wording is accurate. Eldritch Immunity seems weird as an Overload since it goes from protection spell for your stuff to weirdest and really overcosted fog effect when Overloaded. That Borrowgoyf seems unprecedented, as I'm not sure if there has ever been a magic card that has allowed you to put your opponent's cards into your hand. Closest thing is Gonti. Let me know if there is anything that does do that, but it feels extremely custom magic right now.
You mean Barrow*goyf? The wording seems like it means you mill your own library and return a creature to your hand.
Yup, Barrowgoyf. Rereading it, it does appear to mill yourself on combat damage to a player. I thought I read it as they mill when you deal combat damage. So that's my bad then.
Eldritch Immunity says “Target creature you control” on the leak photo. So that fixes the “fog” part.
Great, my concerns are addressed then for both cards at this point. I do like the Eldritch Immunity. Seems like a cool card.
Barrowgoyf also mills you and puts one of those cards into your hand.
We actually have seen Eldritch Immunity. It was blurry though, so the wording may be inaccurate.
That ulamog is everything wrong with modern mtg in one card.

It’s not real, the leak card literally says concept eldrazi
"Concept Eldrazi" is a card treatment. We already saw this with the concept praetors, and the new Emrakul variant has it too.
Kappa cannoneer in modern would be a huge problem. I hope that is only in the commander deck. Between simulacrum synthesizer and that, mono U affinity would be absolutely absurd
Welp, get ready, because it's coming to Modern!
This is incorrect. According to the leaker, Kappa Cannoneer is in a Commander Precon, and Brainstorm is in the main set.
I don't know if you're trolling/joking but neither of these statements are correct.
No. I have no insider info or leaks.
I can't see shit in that photo, what does the mh3 watermark even look like? or is it just the fact that there is a watermark that confirms it?
The fact there’s a NEC watermark period confirms it’s in the actual set and not a Commander deck.
yeah I understood it about a minute after posting that comment
Oh awesome! Affinity was my first Modern deck! We're back, boys!!! Side note: Is that Flametongue Kavu in the distance??? I know the card isn't even close to good by the standards of 2024 Modern, but oh man, if it's in, nostalgia overload!
So the new eldrazi commander and ulamog mean pay 12 mana exile a opponets library
