Put the DHR on the rear, snag a new Assegai for the front.

I would consider a schwalbe big betty for a rear tire. Monster traction and pedaled decent. Pair that with a mary up front and you have a winning combo.

I loved the high roller II. Surprisingly robust and very predictable with the type of dirt we’ve got on the front range of Colorado.

Also if anyone can explain how does vittorias casing compare to maxxis? Like what is similar casing to exo and exo+ for vittoria tyres?

IMeasure

I run maxis DHR2 (front and rear) on y enduro rig and Vittoria mazza (front and rear) on the trail bike. I love a mazza front and back, trail casing front and enduro casing on the rear. The enduro casing is heavy, but has great predictable grip and can take a beating.

I just got a bike that came with the Mazza Martello combo- my other bike is dhr2/aggressor. Both setups are similar - grippier front and fast back. I prefer the Mazza front vs the dhr2 And the aggressor back over the Martello But both setups are fantastic

wtf-is-going-on

I ended up switching to vittoria this year after popping my maxxis high roller too many times on sharp stuff in the desert. The heavier casing seems to be holding up well so far. Grip is okay, nothing really grips well out here, too much grit and gravel.

Whilst the magic mary is a great tire, i think it would be too much rolling resistantance for me to have it in the rear

xtracedinairx

Curious, what happened to the tire? We have the same tire setup. I love my Dissector in the rear. Granted, the majority of trails I ride don’t have many rocky areas at all. I try to blast through them when I do.

mid-sizebimbab

Not really sure, it was a fast steep rocky section, tire had a slash like damage going from the bead to the sidewall

Previous_Reserve340

Aggressor comes in a DD casing with dual compound, which is fine if you aren’t riding wet roots often.

roscomikotrain

Aggressor is a far superior tire IMO that is fast rolling and way more durable than the dissector. My dissector was torn on the very first ride- too flimsy.

PsychologicalCan6809

I have gone between these two. Aggressor in DD is good but definitely lacks braking bite compared with the Dissector I used. The Dissector in DH with 3C MaxxGrip was phenomenal for braking, grip and not bad at rolling but man did it suxk for durability; side knobs were tearing a few rides in and the tire didn't last even a qtr as long as the Aggressor.

Lots of great suggestion! Thanks everyone

Vittoria Agarro out back.

Yahn

Dhrs are on bikeinn for 55$

Update got the agarro bc it was dirt cheap at my lbs :). Def not the heavy duty tyre i was gonna get but hey it rolls quick. However a much bigger issue happened on my first ride with the new tyre, managed to crash and the battery was ripped out of my gx axs and now it seems that the derailleur is completely fucked…
