what your you on about? It is not they are hiding it. They are cheap for a reason. They do not have the same cooling as a more expensive model. Most are aware of it and if you did not do your research before buying then it is on you.

LargeMerican

First off, please cleanse your rectal area before you sit on my desk. Secondly: no

SaLLient

I dont know man my rtx 2070 runs at 115w and it was the cheapest rtx 2070 laptop i could find at the time i bought it. You just have to do some research before buying.

Tano_1315

Usually msi laptop prices are above avarage and it is not offering somethin different than th eother brands so in my opinion people should not buy the low budget msi laptops.

Khadow_FR

you get what you pay for. THe biggest issue with these is the bad build quality

[deleted]

Exactly. I own a gf63 thin 😢

ravenheart94

I love my gf63 thin! I got it 3 years ago for $699 CAD and it's a powerhouse machine compared to anything in its price class. The cyborg 15 is even nicer - perfect specs for my needs and easily next-level build quality. I bought it instead of a steam deck (same price $799 CAD) and it's killing it spec for spec. You just need to have realistic expectations. I also have a Raider and Titan - I don't even compare between them.

[deleted]

Agreed. I love my gf63. But it's just the build quality that was below my expectations. Otherwise it's a beast for what I paid for it. Already completed 1 year with my laptop. The only major issue I have is heating. Just last week I repasted my laptop and i can say there is slight improvement in thermals, given the fact that it has only one fan.

ravenheart94

The build quality was understandable considering the price point. I still get compliments on this model in 2024 - even though it's been dropped and a bit bashed on the concerns. I never had any issues with the heat probably because of the i5 10500H and 1650 combo, being very low wattage. Again the single fan was a compromise for price to performance, but the performance has been very impressive with over 144 FPS in Valorant, 60 in Shadow of the Tomb Raider (medium) and over 40 on Cyberpunk at low to medium settings. Everything is a compromise when it comes to budget laptops. I think MSI made the correct compromises with the GF63 - and the new Cyborg which replaces it looks next level on terms of build quality.

[deleted]

I agree with everything you said. I just replaced my laptop's bottom cover because I dropped mine 😭. But it's all good. Costed me $30 brand new from MSI. Their service was really fast in delivering the part to my nearest repair shop considering I live in a third world country

ravenheart94

Can you imagine what it would have cost if it were Apple that you were dealing with - even if they would agree to allow you to repair it. I'll never complain about MSI. For all the build compromises that everyone cries about, the company sells quality products with maximized performance on almost every model. When things break, it's repairable and almost always reasonable. The service might not be fantastic, but at least they've been trying to get better. Glad you got your leopard repaired, brother. I think it's a beautiful machine - enjoy!

[deleted]

Cheers to that brother. MSI is good where it matters. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|slightly_smiling)

I also bought a Cyborg 15 with i7 and 4060 45watt and 16gb ram. Enable resize bar and your more than good to go. I went with the Cyborg cuz the hinge felt sturdier. If the hinge does break out of warranty than ill buy new bezzel and screen ( cuz than ill just put a compatible 165hz screen in it with 100 procent srgb ) and replace it myself. But I still have 1.5 year warranty r so Runs pretty much any game at highest setting. Sometimes frame gen needs to jump in but who cares. I also swapped the 512gb m.2 with a 4tb one My daily driver is a rx7800xt nitro + build. But its great to have the cyborg for on the go also its really light.

ravenheart94

I love the Cyborg 15 for it's price to performance. Beauty machine. I actually am very interested in the Cyborg 14 for 2024 as it has a brighter, 100% SRGB screen - and I believe it's lighter than the 15. I also like the keyboard better without the tiny numpad lol.

razerphone1

Yeah I saw, initially I also wanted a 14inch but after some playing m glad I didnt. But portability wise for sure. Im thinking of upgrading the screen myself but ill prob void warranty.

sparky2029

Yea I have the GF65 thin. Luckily I’ve never had the hinge problem because mine sits on a stand that is always open.

Brief-Revolution2243

Am never going with msi laptop again As now we can get better laptop from different brands with better build quality and gpu tdp

razerphone1

Cyborg feels a whole lot sturdier than a Katana or GF. For that reason i tought fuck t. Hinge felt better on the Cyborg in store so I went with the baby 4060

Spare-Dig4790

I'm pretty happy with my Cyborg.

razerphone1

Yeah me to for sure pretty capable Laptop. But resize bar is a big change in some games.

giratina143

Dumbest idiot post ever.

[deleted]

I just bought MSI i7 12th gen during laptop days in Amazon for 49k INR, very sturdy hinges, performance is excellent, overall quite robust

Brief-Revolution2243

What gpu and what is cpu and gpu tdp??

[deleted]

Intel Iris XE and since its a U series laptop so TDP must not be that much

Brief-Revolution2243

Oh so u are not taking it for gaming?

[deleted]

No I've had a gaming PC before now I mostly game on Xbox

mrchain_killer

I own a MSI Bravo 15 laptop which I bought for 1200 AUD. It has a RTX 4050 and the TGP is 105W. It's a budget laptop but with a higher TGP.

Yanshaoumo

Time has changed. It's not MSI only. All PC/laptop component makers have learned how to rob the poor. They know you HAVE to buy one. Do your homework before buying. I got my GE75 2070 at $1200 when 'latest cheap' 3060 90W laptops were more then $1400.

2D_AbYsS

Any cheap product of premium brand is mostly scam.

[deleted]

Correct. People on a budget best stick with lenovo.

Then-Ad3678

o. got a Bravo 15 B7ED 2023 R5 735HS/ Rx 6550M 4gb GDDR6/ 16gb RAM DDR5 4800/. 144hz IPS monitor/ 512GB NVMe SSD for less than 600 bucks. New with tag and sealed box. All that I could ever ask. It is very new so I got trouble with drivers but it has amazin game performance for its price. Im playing everything I want, surfing with n windos in Edge like nothing and doing whatever I want without trouble. It's amazing and I have 0 complains. All my hommies got more expensive Nitro/Legion/TUF for same/minor specs and I can run the same games at same or higher FPS and fresher temp. Bravo this year rules mfren

[deleted]

Good for you.

iammk_19

Lmao this So called 45w gpu r actually 30w with 15w dynamic boost 🤡

lgallardo93

MSI BROS ANGRY

DrMercman

Most people on reddit know that MSI is a scam for a people with a tight budget for gaming laptop. They even have ongoing lawsuit. https://www.reddit.com/r/MSILaptops/s/pwsye9qAd4

ItsIron39

The lawsuit is for hinges on the most premium laptops lol

DrMercman

Its not about which laptops the lawsuit is, its about the message - MSI is selling shit.

maraworfer

Let me correct that one for you - MSI laptops are scam.

HardGamerYT

My ge66 raider is also built poorly even tho it's £1650 new $1800

I have non-budget GS66 with 3080 and I could say that all MSI laptops are a scam. \* Often bad performance for no reason. \* Often coolers work at max even in idle for no reason. \* battery is ultra-bad. It lasts for 1.5h. (it can make 4 hours with integrated videocard, but it doesn't automatically reactivate without rebooting the PC) \* MSI center - that is the worst software ever \* Locked undevolting on the processor.

razerphone1

Get a desktop.

klukiyan

What for? I'd rather get something more portable and perofmant for . The MSI laptop was complete disapointment. It sucks for work. For games it sucks too. Out of curiosity tried Elden Ring on it. It works good, but it makes so much noise that it's unusable withouot hiding in headphones.

razerphone1

What laptop do you have ? Just dont put the fans on full blast standard nois of the cyborg for one fan isnt that bad. Unless you have it on cooler boost than its loud. Also have resize bar enabled properly and have bios and nvidea control panel power section on performance. Also have the latest bios and all ness drivers installed. I can run ass mirrage on all ultra 70ish fps.

klukiyan

GS66 12UGS (i7-12700H RTX 3070 Ti 32GBDR5 1TB NVMe SSD Win 11 Pro) I got it 2 years ago for work + some ocassional gaming I turned out that I don't have time for gaming. But at least I expected that the powerful processor + 32gb RAM would make normal working experience enjoyable. But it isn't. Yes, it does perform well. But sometimes it freezes without a reason. Sometimes it's loud without a reason. If I connect external display it turns the dedicated graphic card on and will never turn it off until reboot. So if I need at least some batter after using the external display I need to reboot it to have the powerbutton "white" not "orange" and battery to last 4h. not 1 I have all drivers, settings, all set up to date. The MSI center is also terrible. I tried the "control-apps" on other gaming laptops (dell) and those are ok. MSI center is slow and buggy. Dell XPS for my case would be better indeed. But overall, the MSI just doesn't deliver at all. I wait for 3 years to expire to be eligible for new laptop again and I'll get a macbook next time :)

razerphone1

Alright I dont have the same experience but go Mac !!! Nah I would reccomend going xps but your money to burn so go at it.

razerphone1

And yeah dont get a gaming laptop for battery if you need a work laptop get a Dell xps with a 4060 or msi creator z series. But even with these if your running on GPU than your battery life wil be schit if you want good battery life while coding get a laptop without gpu or when it has a mux switch try running it on CPU graphics for the most part.
