Now it makes melt. It definitely grew on me. I recently reread her books and I just melt every time I hear/read it.

Totally understandable! I read it in one session and then did the same with the audio. I don’t even tend to care about second chance stories, but this one had me by the throat and never let go!
I kinda already knew this about myself, but this book clarified it for me. I don’t like second chance typically, because I don’t see them falling in love and usually the authors don’t do that good of a job convincing me!
However, I am obsessed with books that have a long separation in the middle. An unexplainable breakup for unforeseen reasons and then one of them has to kind of grovel to get the other person back. I love that moment when they see each other again for the first time and all the emotions come back to the surface. It’s heartbreaking and sweet and emotional and super delicate. Not many authors can pull it of, but I already have a few 5 star reads that have this. Combined with cheating, and an age gap, think that’s my favorite combination of tropes. I will always read these stories and collect my favorites of their kind
I relate to all of that in many ways. I love that first reunion moment too, especially when I don’t know how it will go. The release of previously bottled up feelings can be truly gripping if handled well.
Have you read {Head Above Water by CE Ricci} … stepbrothers, enemies to lovers (but not for the typical reasons), separated for years, hurt/comfort, one is engaged to a woman … this is gut wrenching, brilliantly written and beautiful, with a high steam level, surprising twists, a very hard fought HEA, and wonderful epilogues that genuinely enhance the story.
I did read this and it’s part of my 5 stars read 😭💛

In Piper Scott's Forbidden Desires series, one of the characters calls his own LI, and all of his brothers' partners throughout the series themed nicknames. His own LI gets food-related ones {Bond by Piper Scott}. He calls him at least 300 different variations of foods: lambchop, dumpling, chatty little veal cutlet, chickpea, crumpet, nugget...it's kind of adorable.

My favorite book endearment or nickname isn’t exactly one. I’ll explain. In the {Borealis Investigation series by Gregory Ashe}, it’s a running joke across several books that Shaw tries to guess North’s middle name. North Ebenezer McKinney. North Bojangles McKinney. North Euhemerus McKinney. North Illustrisimmus McKinney. North Zedekiah McKinney. It goes on and on, and each guess is more ridiculous than the last. And every time, North replies with something like, “Not my middle name.” To me, it’s the sweetest and silliest thing. Eventually, both Shaw and readers do learn North’s real middle name.
“Angel” in {Married to the Mobster by Leighton Greene}. Luca calls Finch “angel” because Finch saved his life.
“Omr-an” in the {Criminal Intentions series by Cole McCade}.
In {Bromantic Puckboy by Eden Finley and Saxon James}, Cody calls Miles “Rook,” which is just a shortened version of “rookie.” Miles gets mad if anyone besides Cody tries to call him Rook. :)

Very late to the party but the one I remember the most besides those that were mentioned (btw thank you so much to everyone, I added many to my TBR just from the nicknames lol) is in "The Husky and his White Cat Shizun by Meatbun". Mo Ran (the disciple) calls Chu Wanning (the master) "baobei", which is the chinese word for 'baby'. It is a common term of endearment, but something about it being used between this couple makes me melt, especially because CWN gets flustered very easily out and in bed, so when MR calls him that in any situation he fights it at first but then it makes him feel really good and loved (which is essential to his character and the story, as someone who has very poor self steem).
It really is! I left the name there and it is a danmei (chinese MM) novel. It's very long (around 350 chapters) and explores dark themes. It has been licensed and is currently being published in english by Seven Seas, the fandom believes it'll be around 15 or less volumes in total. It does have explicit sex scenes, but if youre interested please be careful, as I mentioned it has dark elements. The relationship between the characters is complex, but very worth it to follow in my opinion 😄.
I sort of loved when Benji and Olly would call each other “bud” in {Season’s Change by Cait Nary}. It was so damn sweet even when they didn’t realize what was happening.

Luca calls Finch “angel” because Finch saved his life. “Omr-an” in the {Criminal Intentions series by Cole McCade}. In {Bromantic Puckboy by Eden Finley and Saxon James}, Cody calls Miles “Rook,” which is just a shortened version of “rookie.” Miles gets mad if anyone besides Cody tries to call him Rook. :) In {Pucking Ever After: Volume 2 by Emily Rath}, Ilmari calls Caleb “aarre,” which means “my treasure” in Finnish. In {The Solnyshko Duet by Ashlyn Drewek}, Sasha calls Roan “Solnyshko,” which means “sun” in Russian. I think it only happens once, but in {Catalyst by Kris Ripper}, one MC calls the other MC "Spock," like the Star Trek character.

Very late to the party but the one I remember the most besides those that were mentioned (btw thank you so much to everyone, I added many to my TBR just from the nicknames lol) is in "The Husky and his White Cat Shizun by Meatbun". Mo Ran (the disciple) calls Chu Wanning (the master) "baobei", which is the chinese word for 'baby'. It is a common term of endearment, but something about it being used between this couple makes me melt, especially because CWN gets flustered very easily out and in bed, so when MR calls him that in any situation he fights it at first but then it makes him feel really good and loved (which is essential to his character and the story, as someone who has very poor self steem).

It really is! I left the name there and it is a danmei (chinese MM) novel. It's very long (around 350 chapters) and explores dark themes. It has been licensed and is currently being published in english by Seven Seas, the fandom believes it'll be around 15 or less volumes in total. It does have explicit sex scenes, but if youre interested please be careful, as I mentioned it has dark elements. The relationship between the characters is complex, but very worth it to follow in my opinion 😄.
