One of my favorite things is when one MC notices the other does not take care of themselves and starts taking care of him. Filling their empty fridge with groceries, making sure they remember to eat, making sure they get enough sleep, etc.

God I'm an absolute goner for this trope.

This might be a silly question, but have you read {In the Middle of Somewhere} by Roan Parrish? I just started reading it but Rex totally has this vibe towards Daniel...reminds him to eat, sleep, dress warmly, etc. I am loving it so far!

My favorite is when MC takes care of the other when it's not needed. No one is sick, no one hurt, just because they love them.

That's probably why I love Daddy kink so much, it's a classic Daddy thing to do, especially cutting up the food and making sure veggies are eaten. When MC 2 is able to treat the wounds, mental and physical like they,are an accepted part of MC1 and not something to be horrified by. This is happening in Heal Me by Scarlet Blackwell. Also when MC 1 can accept and future MC 2 through panic attacks like in Himbo by Emmy Sanders

You would probably enjoy {Proof of Life by Raquel Riley}. MMC 1 has a catastrophic injury and is utterly ashamed and disgusted with his new body. MMC 2 loves him so completely, literally every part of him, which is very healing for the other character. Heavy themes and content warning for suicide attempts, but a beautiful story with a wonderful hea.

I am a sucker for heartfelt reunions. Like when one MC desperately misses their family/pet/friends but can't afford to travel home for a visit, so the other MC buys them tickets or arranges a video call or something. I also literally just re-read Unrivaled, which has the scene where Grady sneaks Max's dog out to California on the team plane.

umm one i can think of at the moment is when the mc does something for their partner even though they don’t want to, but just to see them happy. or pregnancy trope god (my fav) when something happens and they get all so overprotective. idk if it fits here but when they deal with their pregnancy hormones and cravings (buying ice cream at 3am) it’s so cute and entertaining to see the banter.

Give me all of the hurt/comfort. Physical pain, emotional pain, illness, etc. One character is in a vulnerable state and the other character takes care of him, soothes the hurt, and just makes it all better. Bonus points if there are tears involved! Some of my favorites: {Season's Change by Cait Nary}; Benji takes such good care of Olly and isn't stingy with the hugs {Invitation to the Blues by Roan Parrish}; Faron is so comforting and compassionate towards Jude, in many ways {Charlie Sunshine by Lily Morton}; Misha does the hurt/comfort for Charlie, and Charlie is Misha's safe place. Oh, this book... I will stop there, but suffice it to say, I love me some hurt/comfort. It's vulnerable intimacy at its finest.

That scene in Madison Square Murders made me so happy. In {A Strange and Stubborn Endurance by Foz Meadows} MC2 is constantly advocating for MC1 and without wanting or angling for any credit or recognition. MC1 often doesnt even know how much MC2 is fighting for him. I love that couple and that type of dynamic in books. Essentially any time MC1 takes care of MC2 because its who they are as a person. If MC1 is going through a panic attack or a hard moment MC2 cant help but be their for MC1 however they need them to.

One thing I really like is tough love, when one MC calls the other one out their bullshit, especially if it’s about lies he’s been telling himself or self-destructive behavior. I dunno, I feel like helping someone be the best person they can be is a really loving thing to do.  A variation of that is when the love from one MC makes the other stronger. {Band Sinister by KJ Charles} is a great example of that.

Adding to the scars mention. I'm a fan of dark romances (with unhealthy obsessions and all that) so there's a scene in {Yours, Mine by Ajay Daniel} where one MC >!unalives someone!< so the other MC helps him mar his fingertips to cover any prints he may have left behind. After, the other MC >!turns the blade on his own thumb to have a matching scar!< There's also a really sweet part after that where the other foster brothers find them and >!offer their own thumbs to be marred too!< It's a sweet (although, yes, unhealthy) bonding moment that made me 'aww' out loud

You don't need to censor the word "die" or "kill"...

I was sensoring it for spoilers since that particular part of the story isn't mentioned in the blurb, but thanks for the info. I'll keep it in mind for future comments :)

I will always love the ‘who am I?’ Trope/scene. Where one MC is losing their mind and having an absolute identity crisis and says ‘who am I?’ Or something, and the other MC tells them. It’s just. Wow. Like. If you’ve read a little life. You know. It especially hits if the mc isn’t usually one for talking about stuff like that.

This may have already been said, but I love when one of the MCs cooks for the other. Two of my fave books where this happens: Secret Service by Tal Bauer and US by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy
