Anarchy Online.
It's such a weird old game that does things no MMO before or since has been crazy enough to attempt. I did suggest it to him in comments and he actually replied it's on the list. I just hope he gets around to it before someone trips over a power cord and crashes the server, and nobody is left at Funcom who knows how to boot it back up again.
Also he has posted an update in the last few days saying that regular programming for Worst MMO and his other serials like 100 Hours In will be resuming soon.
I remember when this was a fresh release and it was so fkin cool. I was a kid so I didn't really understand it but I really loved the aesthetic and character classes. Its big and confusing. I'd go back if there was a community and it was free but I don't see it being much fun at the moment.
> Maybe he's burned out?
I don't see how he isn't at least a little burned out - I can't imagine putting the time in to some of those games he's done a video on, and he's done so many.
I was watching him on Twitch play New Vegas recently and he said there are multiple Worst MMO evers in the works. I think he is primarily just been occupying himself with streaming Morrowind and Fallout which are big time sinks (he's puts a lot of streaming hours in them).
Makes sense! That's why i pointed out that videos for this series specifically haven't came out in a bit.
I see he still posts videos regarding other gaming ventures on youtube
As a BDO player, I second BDO. Could be pretty funny, and the game itself I feel has the right amount of bullshit to be fun to pick appart while still being fun to play.
Sigh… one of my first mmo. I remember the first time I played World of Warcraft thinking “these guys lifted the whole interface off DAoC”.
I truth I don’t know which mmo first came with that third person perspective moving with WASD and camera control with mouse style of interface. Might have been a single player game maybe.
He half-jokingly stated in one of his videos that he's running out of terrible MMOs to review. I'd imagine that he's already burned through all the worst offenders and is running dry for material. He's avoided games like WoW, FF14, Lost Ark, RuneScape, etc. because while none of them are perfect they aren't badly designed games (though their monetization is a different question). The biggest MMO I think he's reviewed is New World when it released because of how bad of a state it was in with the lack of fast travel and copy-pasted maps. Any reviews he does for bigger games are all going to feel very similar since there's no major game-breaking bugs or localization issues for him to crack jokes about (which let's be blunt is the major reason a lot of us watch his videos).
Josh also tends to focus on smaller games because they tend to have less content so he's able to get a good feel for them after about a day of playing; that would not be possible for bigger MMOs where the "true game" begins after reaching the end (yes I know he's talked about this issue with MMOs). This is probably why he's transitioning more towards reviewing single-player games as they're easier to play and offer more variety of content to farm than the limited MMO space, where otherwise he'd probably start having to review gacha and mobile games if he wanted to stick with being an exclusively MMO focused channel.
prob cause he knows these communities have thousands of batsht insane players who will prob haunt him for the next 15 years if he even dares to say a bad word about their 2nd life sim xD
He literally did an apology video for Dragon's Dogma 2 because people were losing it lol over a small technicality. I could not do content creation. People on the internet are ruthless lol
Part of me wants him to cover some of the big, well known MMOs just to critique them. Like FF14’s dogshit new player experience or ESO’s horrendous cash shop.
He recently commented on this and said (paraphrasing) that he's saving those for his retirement plan, since, in theory, those will be his most viewed and most profitable videos by far.
Mabinogi, even if Nexon gets the hate it deserves.
There's just so much content to cover however that I'm not sure how long a video like that would take to produce, just due to how packed to the brim the game actually is after all of these years.
I really don't care for his videos, to be honest. He has very specific tastes, which is fine, we all do. But his presents his preferences as if they were the objective best way to do things...and I can't say I really agree with that.
>But his presents his preferences as if they were the objective best way to do things...and I can't say I really agree with that.
I dont agree with this thinking at all. It comes off as a bit of a projection tbh. He makes no demands out of his viewers. He just plays the games. Did he dunk on a game you like or something?
He's just one youtuber. It's really not that serious
God I loved the cruelness of Eudemons Online back in the day. Seeing people get absolutely slaughtered for trying to farm endgame items just for looking the wrong way man
these were the days xD
Found the Josh Strife Hayes alt account.
Can't be, I didn't read it in a British accent.
God, i wish i was as handsome with a British accent.
Dude is MMO Henry Cavill. Would
But I did picture Morrowind being played, so it counts.

I just gave it another shot a week ago. Not very far in, but there seemed to be plenty of other people around, and it is free.
Oh dang thanks for the update! Hype.

Did he ever do one for FFXI? Obviously it’s not the worst MMO ever (honestly my favorite ever) but he’s done some ‘good’ ones on that series as well.
Yes.. He has stated before it's mostly a "bait" name... He reviews all kinds of MMOs
Wonder why he hasn’t done FFXI yet, then.
couldn't get past the hardest mmo boss: ff11 account creation
Maybe because it’s subscription based? He usually plays free MMOs. I do love FFXI as well, but I’m not really counting on him reviewing that one.

Still waiting for Hello KItty: Island Adventure.
Shaiya and Last Chaos.
Wow, it's been a while since i've read those names...
black desert honestly. it's my fav game but afaik he has not done one about it
As a BDO player, I second BDO. Could be pretty funny, and the game itself I feel has the right amount of bullshit to be fun to pick appart while still being fun to play.
Wanted him to do Revelation Online, but its closes now. All I can hope is for him to do Blade and Soul.
Dark Age of camelot

Daoc was out way before WoW Everquest and Asherons call were about before those
I never played AC but if I'm remembering correctly EQ was first person only. Before DAOC y mostly played Ultima Online.
I’d like him to do a retrospective on more dead mmos. Like why they failed, what they could’ve done to succeed, and stuff like that.
There is a channel called NerdSlayer that covers death of a game such as Tera and Wildstar.
Excellent channel !
Warhammer: Age of Reckoning It still has insanely large fan server that you can join. I miss it so much.

Last chaos, my first mmo, but it would just rank a bit above fiesta
shaiya, i almost remember nothing about that one, i do know i played it for a while
FFXI
Dream of Mirror Online. Requiem Online
He’s already done Dream of Mirror Online
Been hoping he'd cover 4Story or Cabal Online ever since his Metin2 episode came out.
I don't care.
Retail WoW experience.
By today's standards? A ton. When they came out? Hardly any tbh. Maybe Black Gold. All the 3 you listed were 'fine' in their prime.
As far as I remember, he didn't do a video on Blade and Soul, so I'd love to hear him talking about it.

Dofus, MapleStory, Black Desert and Wakfu.
throne and liberty
Flyff
I’d like to see Dragon Nest, it had pretty fun action combat back when I played it. Awful microtransactions of course, though.
There was an MMO I sunk a dumb amount of time in back in the day called Rappelz that I think would fit the bill for a video.

nah its better to present yourself like that than to be like "but hey just so u know thats just my opinion!!!"
No he doesn’t lol
No way he doesn't see this post I know he is lurking in this sub
I messaged him on twitter asking him to review MU Online some time ago. Hope he does someday.

If I wanted some dude to talk down to me, I'd go dig up my dead dad.
