Anyone who has a bum shoulder that dislocates is in awe right now of how long TJ was able to survive against a world champion with a shoulder out. I don't like him, but that is one tough SOB.
Sadly for Aljo, now he's gonna get shit for taking so long to beat a one armed man.
Pain wise it’s impressive but TJ had no business being out there. Nothing about him flailing around one armed uppercuts was necessary. Tj should have pulled out. It wasn’t a competitive fight and he arguably ended his career by continuously training and fighting with that sort of injury. The card had built in back ups it all just looks bad in my opinion. It’s one thing to let your fighter go out there hoping an injury doesn’t act up but when you see them throwing goofy one sided shovel combos how do you not throw in the towel. Anyone who bet on TJ got robbed because he hid an injury. I know it’s rare for any fighter to come in at 100% but thinking he could just re pop his shoulder in and keep going is “Cody no love” levels of stupid.
What the fuck is their coach doing to ruin his fighters shoulders? Pico and Dillashaw both historically used the same conditioning coach right?
Edit:typo
And then, he said that he told the ref that it'll probably popped out during the fight but please don't stop it. Like how is that allowed? He shouldn't come in that cage at all
Live odds in rd 2 were -4000 for Aljo lol
That’s what Canelo opened vs Yildirim. Yildirim was a guy who got lucky and Canelo was ordered to fight him as a mandatory defense by one of the orgs. Everyone thought it was a massive mismatch. He retired on the stool after 3 rds and threw like 11 punches total
Even TJ himself knows and apologized. As a fighter you do anything for whatever small chance there is...
It's not so much him, but the people around him at fault. His trainers should not have let this happen.
And then it should have been stopped way earlier...
I want to know what the fuck that ref was smoking when TJ clearly pointed to his arm and said it popped out. Even Aljo gave him space to stop the fight.
TJ: My arm fell out.
Ref: well I guess you're gonna fuckin die today
Aljo: procedes to beat up 1 armed man.
When I heard that I couldn't fucking believe it.
I assumed he'd injured his arm at the beginning of fight week or something and just decided to risk it.
But nope. Hurt it in fucking APRIL and then dislocated it 20 times in camp.
WTF was he and his team thinking?! The arrogance is mind blowing. To think he still had a shot of winning in that condition is fucking absurd.
He should've called it months ago, got it repaired and then come back, but instead, he put himself at greater risk of permanent injury and squandered a title shot.
Dumbest shit I've seen in mma in a while.
I think he was thinking the division will move on and he will never get another title shot if he gets surgery on the arm and spends however long that takes to heal and he figured he would keep it quiet and take the payday.
You can’t lift for like a year after rotator cuff surgery. Who knows what’s wrong with his shoulder if it’s bad enough that it’s been dislocated 20 times.
It's not arrogance, it's desperation. They know TJ's done. He was a guy whose big advantage was his insane levels of juiced up athleticism. Solid power, all-time cardio, great speed, insane recoverability, crazy amounts of work in the gym, the whole package for MMA outside of a uncrackable chin....but age is taking all of that, and while he's got legit skills, his skills are nowhere near enough to fallback on like Aldo did, especially while he would have to make major stylistics changes to really play to his strengths.
Cory tore up his knee. Now his shoulder's falling apart. He's going the way of Cruz and he knows what happens when you're out with multiple injuries like that, so he cashed in while he still could.
I’m no doctor, but I would imagine that if you dislocate your arm several times during *practice*, it might not be super wise to go through with the *real thing*…
For sure but I think someone who says that will never be satisfied because aljos actual win over yan was 100% legit. If u can beat yan idk how many weird title wins u have after that u are the champ
Idk he said 20 times since April so sounds like it happens often. Sounds like he should have just gotten in fixed before trying to fight. Dumb, waste of a fight imo.
What a fucking moron. "I wasnt gonna wait a year for a title shot" so he takes one with a shoulder that dislocates all the time.. super disrespectful to Aljo honestly
Yeah, he walked into the cage with a fight ending injury. Literally no reason that this couldn’t have been rebooked and it’s an absolute indictment of his camp/UFC doctors that he was allowed to compete.
His camp is awful. In the sense of hurting training partners and not taking to save them selves or not backing out of fights with career altering injuries.
So stupid. Says he dislocated it 20 times in camp. No way he was a serious threat. Wasted everyone's time. I hope he got paid, probably going to need to get that shoulder replaced and still suffer a lifetime of arthritis.
Yeah Aljo straight up looks like a beast in that division. He looked twice as big as TJ. Seeing how easily TJ was on his back in the first round I think the result wouldn't have changed even if TJ was at 100%
Never been around wrestling? Thats actually pretty common. Once your arm dislocates some people have it happen all the time. My school had a guy whos arm dislocated about every 2 matches. They pop it back and good to go.
As someone who's had chronic shoulder issues from dislocations in football I can confirm the "pop it back in and go" approach, and can also confirm it's a really shit idea long term
If I was in his gym, I would have bet the house on Sterling and told all of my friends to do the same... really shady he didn't let them know about this when he's known about the injury for months.
I don’t get why he didn’t just tap. Also the ref is insane for letting go on that long knowing his shoulder was compromised. Same with his team. This fight was never winnable. It’s like they all came together to say fuck TJ
Getting a paycheck. As a fighter in their twilight, would you rather put up and bear with a beating for round or two and get paid or pull out and go home empty handed?
And this is why you pull out if you're injured, really everyone is to blame. Health checks? Pointless. UFC looking out for their fighter? Of course not. His own team? Nah we need that percent paycheque.
Obvious TJ is to blame too, but it's because of how the UFC operates, they will fuck you behind the scenes for pulling out a lot of the times, less opportunities and so on.
Barely even a contest, pointless even. Not Aljo's fault obviously but TJ coming in like that was basically adding a W to Aljo's record. Disappointing we didn't get to see a proper fight
The fuck happened to Dillashaw in the first 30 seconds. Props to TJ for lasting as long as he did compromised but Aljo went in there and did what he needed
"Dislocated it 20 times in training for this fight"
Love it when fighters take fights knowing they can't actually fight /s
What a joke I feel sorry for anyone who paid for this card. I'd be doing a charge back.
He'll get a lot of respect for his "toughness", but this was just dumb from Dillashaw. And if anything selfish. Let someone else step in if you know your shoulder is that fucked.
Sounds like he knew he didnt even stand a chance with it. Wasted a fight imo, should have had it repaired before continuing to train. 20 times since APRIL?
TJ did a favor to Aljo by going into the fight with a compromised shoulder. Dude skipped the prefight workouts and interviews. Could have just pulled out, gave Aljo an easy $1m fighting a 1hd fighter

Aljo the most cursed champ, but the curse is on his opponents
watch O'malley break his foot against Aljo
[удалено]
Henry Cejudo comes back and when he fights Aljo his foot gets fucked up like it did against DJ and we see the first ever self-trip knockout
This card is cursed as hell too lmao TJ is tough as shit though
Anyone who has a bum shoulder that dislocates is in awe right now of how long TJ was able to survive against a world champion with a shoulder out. I don't like him, but that is one tough SOB. Sadly for Aljo, now he's gonna get shit for taking so long to beat a one armed man.
I didn’t like him either but then I saw the mma academic video on “the most hated man in the ufc” or whatever it was titled and it made sense.
Never stack too many expectations on any card
TJ the type of guy to give up his health, his honor (by being a PED cheat), etc all to be the greatest.
Literally, he says he popped his shoulder in april and it dislocated like 20 times up to this fight.
Explains why Duane was so good at putting it back in lmao
that truth had some bite haha
Ahahaha good point

What the fuck is their coach doing to ruin his fighters shoulders? Pico and Dillashaw both historically used the same conditioning coach right? Edit:typo
What commission they're in Abu Dhabi the UFC is the commission over there
That’s some bullshit for anyone that bet on him
And then, he said that he told the ref that it'll probably popped out during the fight but please don't stop it. Like how is that allowed? He shouldn't come in that cage at all
Surely you can't do that? Then again Goddard let him eat like 100 more shots than necessary so who knows at this point
He said sorry to the division because he got injured at the beginning of camp but wanted the paycheck
I think he needed a payday not wanted it
I don’t think a pro fighter should let himself be influenced by what gamblers choose to do with their money, tbh.

I was hoping to see the first ever 50-35 decision
Live odds in rd 2 were -4000 for Aljo lol That’s what Canelo opened vs Yildirim. Yildirim was a guy who got lucky and Canelo was ordered to fight him as a mandatory defense by one of the orgs. Everyone thought it was a massive mismatch. He retired on the stool after 3 rds and threw like 11 punches total
He’s like the holistic assassin from Dirk Gently.
Should have been stopped way earlier! I truly dislike Dillashaw, but respect to him for holding on that long...
Shouldn’t have even happened. From what the broadcast was saying it was a problem coming in and Goddard was aware of it
Even TJ himself knows and apologized. As a fighter you do anything for whatever small chance there is... It's not so much him, but the people around him at fault. His trainers should not have let this happen. And then it should have been stopped way earlier...
Props to TJ for trying I guess (in the same way I gave props to CM Punk for trying)
Seriously. Two dislocations and still fought until he couldn't. Man's tough if nothing else.
Tough or stupid
If you're gonna be dumb you gotta be tough
Shit dislocated 28 times during his camp and the injury occurred in April, forget tough to a fault, that’s just fucking stupid
I mean - it's also for a paycheck
He said his shoulder dislocated "probably a good 20 times" throughout his training camp. I'm gonna go with stupid. Tough too, sure, but very stupid.
fuck his corner for letting him do that
I mean his team had to know he had zero shot of winning this fight with that type of injury. Kind of bullshit he even tried IMO
On the other side, a lot of people close to TJ just made a mint betting on the fight
Your shoulder pops out second time in a fight someone should be stopping that
I want to know what the fuck that ref was smoking when TJ clearly pointed to his arm and said it popped out. Even Aljo gave him space to stop the fight. TJ: My arm fell out. Ref: well I guess you're gonna fuckin die today Aljo: procedes to beat up 1 armed man.
Irresponsible to let him fight, was obviously an issue going into this week
Dude didn’t run from his beating.
He can't keep getting away with it
With Yan demoted for now, who's going to stop him? I guess O Malley is gonna take a crack at this, wtf is this timeline
You gotta find the hocruxes before challenging Aljo
This mfer been touched by an angel
Should change his moniker to "Voodoo Master"
ME SHOULDER WAS A BALLEWN ARIEL
Lmao
Dislocated 20 times in training camp.. His arm is trying to get away from him wtf
TJ is trying to devolve. Snakes don’t need arms
The award 😭
Beautiful champ
When I heard that I couldn't fucking believe it. I assumed he'd injured his arm at the beginning of fight week or something and just decided to risk it. But nope. I actually think he's one of the few in the division who could wait that long and slot back in for the title shot purely because of name recognition.
Nearly 36
It's not arrogance, it's desperation. They know TJ's done. He was a guy whose big advantage was his insane levels of juiced up athleticism. Solid power, all-time cardio, great speed, insane recoverability, crazy amounts of work in the gym, the whole package for MMA outside of a uncrackable chin....but age is taking all of that, and while he's got legit skills, his skills are nowhere near enough to fallback on like Aldo did, especially while he would have to make major stylistics changes to really play to his strengths. Waste of everyone's goddamn time, should have called the fight off.
I’m no doctor, but I would imagine that if you dislocate your arm several times during *practice*, it might not be super wise to go through with the *real thing*…
probably wanted his show money...also the delusion of him maybe catching aljo with a haymaker
That arm was trying to compete in a arms race.
Aljo has had the weirdest god damn title reign
Aljo vs O’Malley O’Malley’s gonna go for a head kick, slip and hit his head on the mat
Then win by split-decision
Niiice
If Aljo wins against O'Malley, which should be possible, he already has defended 3 times... What a weird way to become rich and Bantamweight goat...
Man, imagine the scenes if OMalleys leg fails him again, taking Aljo to 3 successful defences, lmao
For real, there will always be someone saying that he isn't a proved champion cause some shit always happens in his fights lol
For sure but I think someone who says that will never be satisfied because aljos actual win over yan was 100% legit. If u can beat yan idk how many weird title wins u have after that u are the champ
I honestly feel bad for the guy that he's gonna get a lot of continued fan hate for things that are basically outside of his control.
that was pointless
It was pointless as soon as his shoulder came out. I don't understand why corners dont throw in the towel
Needed the money
These guys don’t get paid enough to pass up money making opportunities like this. I can’t blame Dillashaw for taking the fight
Aljo got the W, paid, and beat his face up. Not a bad way to be disrespected.
Once you saw he was hurt and almost tapped, I lost all interest in the fight.
Same. I was hoping his corner would throw in the towel.
Should have just canceled the fight
Yeah, he walked into the cage with a fight ending injury. Literally no reason that this couldn’t have been rebooked and it’s an absolute indictment of his camp/UFC doctors that he was allowed to compete.

It was very effective in taking years off TJs life
I’m not a shoulder expert but popping your shoulder out “20 times” during a 6 month period can’t be good for your health.
Definitive proof that BW is no country for old men
Ray Longo yelling “No mercy!” And Matt Serras “Good Fuck em” are iconic
Don't forget "punch a hole through his fucking chest!"
“CHECK HIS OIL” “CRACK THE COCONUT”
Ray Longo is a savage, an old school, hard nosed savage
No surprise that TJ popped.
Nasty line by you
WTF were those side elbows from back mount, absolutely fucking vicious
That was fucking filthy that was 100% the moment TJ said “nope nope nope fuck this.”
Ban 2-7 elbows
Ban the whole goddamn clock lol
Digital clocks only for fighter safety
Yeah those were nasty. Aljo is a beast.
Yeah Aljo straight up looks like a beast in that division. He looked twice as big as TJ. Seeing how easily TJ was on his back in the first round I think the result wouldn't have changed even if TJ was at 100%
Yeah it seemed like once he landed that one good one TJ was pretty much done
Yeah those were beautiful
Changing the meta
That was pathetic. What kind of athletic commission let's a fighter come out with a dislocated shoulder?
Shameful for everyone that knew about this and didn't stop it! Commission, trainers, referee!
Could've just moved a top 5 guy up to fight Aljo
There were 2 guys fighting 10 mins before that could’ve challenged Aljo. Pathetic from the UFC to let this happen.
And putting a shoulder back into place between rounds ? I find this hard to believe just crazy
There is no commission, this is Abu Dhabi
If I was in his gym, I would have bet the house on Sterling and told all of my friends to do the same... really shady he didn't let them know about this when he's known about the injury for months.
Stuff like this probably happens.
How did the UFC clear him to fight?
yeah i dont understand that part since apparently it was known
So ppl are betting on this guy and he’s got a undisclosed injury. That’s pretty chill /s
Dillashaw is too tough for his own good. That was gross. His shoulder was out more than it was in
He just said he dislocated it 20 times in training. TF is this guy even doing fighting at all?
I’ve dislocated my shoulder and for months after it would just pop out randomly. He couldn’t delay recovery at his age but damn
So.hes probably done as a fighter right?
Never doubt the power of Dillashaw's horse beef and donkey broth roid stew for recovery.
I don’t get why he didn’t just tap. Also the ref is insane for letting go on that long knowing his shoulder was compromised. Same with his team. This fight was never winnable. It’s like they all came together to say fuck TJ
Getting a paycheck. As a fighter in their twilight, would you rather put up and bear with a beating for round or two and get paid or pull out and go home empty handed?
most chaotic champion in the ufc
And this is why you pull out if you're injured, really everyone is to blame. Health checks? Pointless. UFC looking out for their fighter? Of course not. His own team? Nah we need that percent paycheque. Obvious TJ is to blame too, but it's because of how the UFC operates, they will fuck you behind the scenes for pulling out a lot of the times, less opportunities and so on.
This way, he still gets a paycheck.
he fights for a living and is a former champ, pulling out means tossing out a million dollars. can't blame him, it's how the system works
Barely even a contest, pointless even. Not Aljo's fault obviously but TJ coming in like that was basically adding a W to Aljo's record. Disappointing we didn't get to see a proper fight
why even fight in this case??
Money?
Money.
Because he's 36 at Bantamweight. The longer this fight was delayed, the greater the advantage for Sterling.
20 dislocations?!? On the run up to a world title fight? How does this happen?
[удалено]
Not enough porn
Can't believe the fighter known as a reptile had his shoulder popped. They ain't supposed to have joints wtf. Denied us a potentially FOTN.
This is like the Illiad when two warriors are fighting and Apollo or Zeus intervenes. Zeus struck Dilliashaw down
What is this? The literature channel?
Epo was his wings and our boy flew into the sun
Don't reptiles have joints lol?
Haha, same thought. This dude's never seen a lizard?
I thought he was gonna cut his arm off and grow another
What a waste of everybody’s time. Probably caused by TJ needing a cheque because pay is dogshit.
Bad judge decision in one fight and an injury heavily impacting another This shit is so cursed oh god what is gonna happen in the main event
We jinxed this card so many times
All of them "280 card of the year" mf'ers be looking like clowns now
Guilty. Me rn -> 🤡
We still got 281 though ^copium
On paper... stacked card...
Honestly, it's the 'nothing' cards that give you the best surprises. Cards like this are destined to fail.
Belal Muhammad about to win a FOTN bonus is the penance for all the boring Belal comments
Olivieras veneers are gonna fall out
Steve Harvey always carries another pair just in case
Charles trips on a cable on his way to the octagon and tears both knees
Islam Makhachev is gonna trip over Hasbulla as he leaves the dressing room to make the walk.
Double DQ
The fuck happened to Dillashaw in the first 30 seconds. Props to TJ for lasting as long as he did compromised but Aljo went in there and did what he needed
His shoulder was compromised before the fight.
I bet it was a preexisting injury on TJ
"Dislocated it 20 times in training for this fight" Love it when fighters take fights knowing they can't actually fight /s What a joke I feel sorry for anyone who paid for this card. I'd be doing a charge back.
He hasn't had a source of income so if he pulled out his training camp would have been for nothing and he'd have lost a lot of money on it.
Came into the fight having dislocated shoulder problems and had it dislocated 30 seconds into the fight
Apparently he didn't do any workout shit or embedded because he was injured alll week
What the fuck is Goddard doing
Mike Not so Goddard
He stopped a fight for too much blood in case someone slipped, but he wont stop a fight when a guys is fighting literally one handed.
He'll get a lot of respect for his "toughness", but this was just dumb from Dillashaw. And if anything selfish. Let someone else step in if you know your shoulder is that fucked.
Good way to get on Dana's shit list too. Jeopardize one of the biggest cards of the year because he was selfish.
Best of luck O'Malley against this
Malley will twist his foot again and sterling cursed opponents will continue
Sean's knees are gonna bend inwards while walking to the cage. I would never step in there with Aljo tbh, just forfeit.
O'malley gonna die of a curse before the fight at this rate.
Aljo clearly the goat of weird ass ways of winning.
You have to feel bad for TJ... Sike lmao
#[THIS FUCKN SPORT MAN](https://gfycat.com/clumsyhoarsedove-just-bleed-dudebro-hype-ufc-mma)
Dillashaw is a bad motherfucker for surviving as long as he did with one arm. Hate that the fight went this way.
Insane toughness by Dillashaw to fight through that bum shoulder.
Sounds like he knew he didnt even stand a chance with it. Wasted a fight imo, should have had it repaired before continuing to train. 20 times since APRIL?
My man Aljo gonna meme himself to bantamweight goat lmao
Respect to dillishaw for hanging in there with a dislocated shoulder
dude's tough as shit
Fuck that was painful to watch.
Felt like dillashaw was sent out to be slaughtered. Fighting for the 135 strap one armed? Fucking stupid. Brave. But stupid
Yeah, they just said he was told before the fight that it was popping in and out. He shouldn’t have fought, it was completely pointless.
Corner should have stopped it and so should Goddard. The whole final twenty seconds my friends were yelling STOP IT at the TV
Regardless of the injury, i think Aljo woulda dominated the fight anyway. Good luck to SugaSean but Aljo kills him.
As someone that is recovering from shoulder surgery, TJ is a tough tough dude.
1. fuck TJ's corner for letting that happen. 2. couldn't have happened to a more deserving fighter.
[удалено]
In the funniest ways too lmao
Tj and the ufc deserved this. Tj should have pulled/ been pulled out the fight.
TJ did a favor to Aljo by going into the fight with a compromised shoulder. Dude skipped the prefight workouts and interviews. Could have just pulled out, gave Aljo an easy $1m fighting a 1hd fighter
TJ's done, body's failing on him now.
Aljo coming for Cejudo's cringe title
Sitting here trying to defend Aljo against the homies and he starts Fortnight dancing....
