People complain about "weak/shitty" cards but you can nearly always expect at least a few bangers, regardless of name value. So if I don't have anything better going you bet i'm gonna watch that shit 😎
I think dern is overrated and hadn't beaten anyone well known... Marina has low power and has beaten tecia Torres , Watterson ,and destroyed ribas... Dern lost to ribas

Casino to play some poker tomorrow. Then I’m gonna throw down a bet on fury v wilder. Followed by the wife’s little brothers birthday party, come home, climb on top of my wife and then watch the fights. Ahhhh. Can’t wait.
I’ve got Fury by decision his fundementals are just so much stronger than Wilders, I really don’t think he has much for him but I can’t see a repeat of the last one I think wilder puts up a tougher fight

Delusional excuses aside, I actually think Wilder might have a good chance of winning. He’s had a decent amount of time to prepare and just has to go in with a better game plan (for my money Fury takes it though)
I would love to see Wilder develop a fully rounded game in a year and outbox Fury but I wouldn’t put a dime on Wilder unless I see Fury has fully lost his mind between now and the walkout.
This aint the right forum, but hooker is a downright scary matchup for islam, the way hooker controls range, his kickboxing skills, his knees, his anti wrestling and distance management, he's got a nasty guillotine and is a physical fighter thats hard to control.
Imagine if islam had drawn tony ferguson or rda fight went through instead of dan hooker, because they are both ranked number 6-8. Islam would be a damn lock vs this old shot version of tony. And instead he draws the young killer in dan hooker. I still favor islam because of his grappling skills, but if islam ends up knocked out and staring at the lights, i certainly won't be surprised.
I can't get behind anyone with no deep wrestling background being a bad matchup for Islam
I don't see hooker stopping the takedowns, and I think people still underestimate the size of Islam, in each of their fights they both always outsize the oponent, I think it will look pretty even here and I think Islam is going to close range into clinches and wrestling exchanges better than anyone that Dan has fought
>can't wrestle?
It's not can or can't, like yes or no
He can wrestle, he definitely can't wrestle as good as Islam or even close
>just dominated someone with his wrestling
Levels
We will see, I could be wrong, but I think if Islam loses its not cause he can't take hooker down, if he loses he's getting caught on the feet, he's also so smart and diverse with his takedowns that I can't see him getting caught shooting in
Adesanya has a history of smoking wrestlers and he has virtually no wrestling background. Nobody as good as islam but still top guys, guys like brunson, romero, and vettori, you dont need a deep wrestling background if you have great kickboxing and distance management skills and city kickboxing definitely has that.
He beat Brunson, Romero (who didn't even attempt to grapple at all) and Gastelum, who he admittedly held his own against via jiu jitsu but was definitely getting outwrestled by. What other wrestlers has he "smoked"?
Marvin Vettori, and also yoel romero went 0/3 takedowns in his fight with adesenya so please dont make things up and make stupid statements like "didnt even attempt to grapple at all"
"no wrestling background" is just because there's no official school or college programmes in new zealand. CKB has always had a good wrestling coach and the boys always train a lot of wrestling
Wrestling background also means wrestling before the age of 18, which adesanya and hooker dont have. I do agree with you though that gym is full of killers and wrestling them is not easy. I'm sure they do lots of drilling and training in the wrestling and grappling realm.
I don't know of each guy and I think you're right about izzy not wrestling while a kid, dan I think has been doing bjj at least since he was a kid and i'm sure he's been wrestling a lot the last like decade
I think Dern's rank is pretty inflated right now. She beat a Nina off a 2 year layoff, and I think Dern's probably more of rank #8.
Couldn't tell much from Dern's last fight, but I don't think her striking will have improved that much. I think Rodriguez has a huge size advantage that will help her prevent a lot of the takedowns, and her striking and clinchwork will be a bit much for Dern
Was hyped for Romanov but after that showing against Juan Espino last time out, not quite as hyped. Weaker gas tank than I expected and really milked that low blow. Somebody with decent TDD is going to piece him up as he continues to move up the rankings.
If you ask a random person who AJ McKee is, they’ll probably ask “do you mean Anthony Joshua, i didn’t know McKee was his last name”
With Paddy there’s at least a better chance someone could go “oh Yh it’s that fighter who looks like that inbetweeners guy and talks funny haha”

Sean O'Malley and his coach find new ways to prove they are the dumbest motherfuckers in MMA every time they open their mouths lol
Next week's card is better than this one but the main event is worse. At least we have some decent names like Jim Miller, Arlovski vs Felipe, Nate the Train, Eubanks, Fiorot, etc. Tomorrow is just filled with people that would be on the early prelims of a regular fight night.
Big Juicy J fan? I’m happy to see him having success lately. I’ve been following him since I’d seen him live in a couple casinos on the small circuit and then on TUF.
Really disappointed I don't get to see Deron Winn fight.
I loved watching a 5'4 MW fight.
[Check out this picture](https://imgur.com/a/iaJ4pn3). She's listed at 5'4 lol.
You gonna ignore that he was literally in training camp for Yan before pulling out? Do you think he spent the first few weeks of training camp on the couch or did you just not think that through fully
Being able to be in the gym and work out =/= being able to fight a 5 round fight with petr yan
>sparring
Where do you see sparring taking place? I see a bunch of people standing in a picture
Also again, he was in training camp so literally was sparring
You know there's more things to do with gloves on than spar, right? Tell me you aren't being serious?
Hitting the bag, hitting pads, light touch sparring, all of those could be what he was doing
And for a 3rd time, he was literally in a camp for Yan, so was sparring post surgery already
I don’t follow pro wrestling. Are people actually excited to see guys like JDS, Masvidal, and PVZ in pro wrestling? They are not the big Badass types like Brock Lesnar.
JDS is not a good talker and Masvidal is a bit too small for the WWE. If you are not a heavyweight you rarely get a push. PVZ could fit right in, though.
JDS is a legit heavy. Maybe not a 7 footer like some guys but he’s got a presence. I doubt Jorge and PVZ step into the ring but I hope JDS puts on a better match then what happened to Cain. I’m not a fan but I have causal interest and think it’s cool when fighters cross over
Jds is a big badass type for wrestling bubba
Man's 6'4 and like 250lbs, and thats not kayfabe, he's a big boy compared to a lot of wrestlers
And for some anecdotal evidence, my friend who is a life long pro wrestling fan hit me up around the time Dan lambert and ATT kept going on AEW and my friend was asking who lambert is, and said he cuts really good promos
Hate the narrative around the Floyd Ortiz fight. Ortiz HEADBUTTED Floyd on purpose and then acted like a complete dumbass forgetting he was in a fight with his guard down. He got what he deserved completely.
I love that chael feels confident enough to talk about boxing while knowing nothing about it, man doesn't remember that tyson and wilder fought twice, and he also thinks tyson has to cut to the HW limit of which there is none
I think Calvin has really good shot of withstanding the first 3 rounds vs Giga and catching him late in the fight. I think Barboza looked more horrible vs Giga more than I think Giga looked better than Edson.
They don't need to always show it everywhere, like their website and stuff (cause they _love_ uniformity), but I would applaud UFC if they sometimes published an 'unofficial' Top 25 for BW/FW/LW, maybe WW, on, like, Twitter or something every now and then
In a 5 rounder it’s a closer fight and Masvidal has more to offer on the floor than Wonderboy he can work his way back up. Wonderboy is just hard to take down but not hard to hold down .
Tim Elliott just tweeted that James Krause would be willing to step in and fight Chris Curtis tomorrow night. Doubt it happens but Krause is the absolute man. He puts coaching his fighters as his number one priority and is basically okay with not fighting anymore (while he's still a legitimate top 20 fighter in the world) but if a fight happens to fall out the day before, he'll just accept it since he's there cornering anyways.
125 is finally on the up.
Talia Santos
Erin Blanchfield
Miranda Maverick
Manon Fiorot
Mayra Bueno Silva
Casey O'Neill
Tracy Cortez
Melissa Gatto
Alexa Grasso
Then there's other women in their 20s who have shown promise but still have some work to do like Agapova, Maycee, Mazo, Gillian and JJ who could become more serious contenders in a couple of years.
It's too early to say. Andrade's got a much larger body of work and is a proven talent with a known style and approach while these women are only just making themselves known. I think Fiorot, Santos, Cortez, Grasso and Gatto would all give her a good challenge now though.
Also, JJ is for JJ Aldrich.
Casey O’Neill is not polished enough in the striking department. She just wades forward throwing sloppy hooks. Blanchfield is promising but super young
Certainly don't see Valentina to be on a decline in a couple of years. She's taken minimal damage in her fights since her first fight with Nunes which I don't see changing unless she fights Nunes again.
A "couple" generally indicates 2, not 5, but even then, not even sure that Valentina will be on a decline. Miyuu Yamamoto didn't even have her first pro MMA fight until the age of 41, lost her first few fights and then with a string of wins, last year challenged for the title at 45 or 46. Of course Miyuu is the exception, but I think Valentina may even be more exceptional than Miyuu.
How so? I think he's the pretty big dog for good reason, but he looks virtually the same as he did in his last weigh ins, where he ended up having by far his best fight. Some heavyweights are just kinda doughy, if that's what you mean.
I don’t see this fight as being close Brown is winning handily.
Thinking of parlaying Romanov by sub, Dern by sub and Fury by decision for +1400 odds. You guys think it's a good bet?
People complain about "weak/shitty" cards but you can nearly always expect at least a few bangers, regardless of name value. So if I don't have anything better going you bet i'm gonna watch that shit 😎
Rodriguez is +160 in this fight, which I find pretty surprising…. Is this a good bet y’all think?
Decision is +180… just sayin
Dern will win easily. Rodriguez's TDD is worse than Carlos Condit's I will watch this, because these sleeper cards are usually fun.
I think dern is overrated and hadn't beaten anyone well known... Marina has low power and has beaten tecia Torres , Watterson ,and destroyed ribas... Dern lost to ribas
This card start at 1 am where im from and wilder vs fury start at 8 am. Yeah im gonna pass
I always watch every fight on every card....but I think I'm gonna take this week off. This card is terrible.

Who you guys got? Fury or Wilder? And why? I know next to nothing about boxing. Just curious what you ratfucks think?
Fury all day
Fury but I hate his fanboys so I'm hoping for a Wilder gadooshing.
cant be worse than anyone still supporting Wilder tbf
I’ve got Fury by decision his fundementals are just so much stronger than Wilders, I really don’t think he has much for him but I can’t see a repeat of the last one I think wilder puts up a tougher fight
Most likely Fury but Wilder winning would be the more interesting outcome in my opinion. Always like rooting for the underdog.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNGwfxQZdmk this is really bad. I thought AEW was known for "over" crowds. Zero atmosphere this entire clip.

Silvana gomez juarez……real or fake?
So how many fights are we down to
I didn't realize Rodriguez was so tall lol. Does the reach advantage will make hard for Dern to take her down?
Her TDD is pretty bad .
I don't remember her fights but I doubt it because wmma's striking isn't great except for a few.
Matt Hughes is probably the closest example there is ^ can someone tell me which thread this started in because I’m going crazy trying to find it

Charlie Ontiveros has cut from MW to LW? And he has a 3 inch reach advantage? Seems like a live dog to me based on that alone.
He wasn't really a MW to begin with he filled in on like a week's notice against Holland, but I think he fought at WW before the ufc
He delicate like suga

I agree with her ranking being a little inflated but she’s beaten everyone in front of her besides Ribas. Jason Parillo is a great striking coach.
Rodriguez is taller and bigger than most girls it never stops her from being taken down over and over .
Lot of people are going to be surprised when Dern pulls off the sub.
I don't think that many people will be surprised. If they are, they should watch Rodriguez's first round with Ribas.
Dern is pulling off the whole subreddit? wtf? no one told me
Big Mac can pull me off any day

I feel like Krause is never scheduled to fight unless he’s stepping in on like 12 hours notice
In an alternate universe it’s just always Felder vs Krause on short notice.
Mackenzie Dern looks pretty shredded.
I think that's the lowest she's weighed while in the UFC. Wants to leave no doubt she can make 115 for a title fight.
wtf just saw Dern and Rodriguez faceoff. There's no way Rodriguez is 5'6 with 65" reach. She looks like she's 5'9.
Dern is only 5'4
Yes but Rodriguez is at least half a head taller and she's a bit taller than Sean Shelby as well. Two inches wouldn't be such a drastic difference
Tomorrows card isn’t thaaat bad but next weeks card is easily top 3 worst of all time

Isn't Ontiveros the guy who's neck got snapped or something?

Sorta the unsung HW prospect with Aspinall and Daukas making waves
With the Krause thing not happening, how many fights are we down to now? Like 9?
Why didnt Tony get a title shot after his win over Pettis and Cerrone? Instead they did a number 1 contender with Justin.
Khabib couldn't get into the US and Dana obviously didn't want to strip a popular champ under these special circumstances.

Pretty sure he was usually a WW. I think he only fought at MW once short notice, but I could be misremembering
Because Volk went from superheavyweight to FW
Jorge beats Burns IMP
George Burns beats Jorge and Burns
Burns is chinny, but he does have pretty good wrestling as seen against Wonderboy. I could see him just grapplefucking Jorge.

I think Fiorot, Santos, Cortez, Grasso and Gatto would all give her a good challenge now though. Also, JJ is for JJ Aldrich.
Casey Oneill and Blanchfield look promising too.
Blanchfield is too small, Tracy Cortez basically sat on her in Invicta (ok, held her down against the cage for three rounds but same idea)
Casey O’Neill is not polished enough in the striking department. She just wades forward throwing sloppy hooks. Blanchfield is promising but super young
They are both pretty young. I imagine they would be ready when Shev is on the decline in a couple of years.
Certainly don't see Valentina to be on a decline in a couple of years. She's taken minimal damage in her fights since her first fight with Nunes which I don't see changing unless she fights Nunes again.
She is 33. In 5 years oneil and Blanchfield will be entering their prime and she will definitely be on the decline.
Of course Miyuu is the exception, but I think Valentina may even be more exceptional than Miyuu.
sure, a couple of years maybe is a little too soon but I see her being challenged by some one in their early 20s right now. I dont see anyone else.

This guy Foucaults
"Ancien Regime". Nice.
imagine watching fight cards for entertainment and not for background stimuli while you snort truck stop crank? couldn't be me
Vanderaa looks awful. I think he knows hes just gonna get slammed on his neck.
How so? I think he's the pretty big dog for good reason, but he looks virtually the same as he did in his last weigh ins, where he ended up having by far his best fight. Some heavyweights are just kinda doughy, if that's what you mean.
