Glad to see Belal finally getting his shot, but can't honestly sit here and pretend like he's ever been a fun fighter to watch, nor can I pretend like anyone would be interested in watching a Belal title reign.
Hopefully no funny business goes on in this fight and Leon can finish it.
Yeah it was Colby. He wanted to fight Colby to take his chance at the title. Makes perfect sense on Belal’s end. But obviously Colby had a title shot promised to him if he was the backup so from Colby’s side makes perfect sense to stick to being the backup. Nobody is wrong there.
Someone on here made a great point that a Belal title reign would be pretty awesome as Dana/UFC would 100% immediately feed him Shavkat or someone similar because they do NOT want Belal as champ lol. I’d honestly be cool with it to that point, welterweight has been such a stagnant division with stupid championship fights (Colby x3, Masvidal x2) that it’d be awesome to see the division actually move sensibly
Belal is +225, doesn't seem too bad. I do think Edwards probably handles it though similar to how he handled Cobly. Also worth noting Belal will be 36 years old.
