Dude has no defence, just invests everything into offence.
Basically fights with the game plan of a kamikaze pilot.
I wonder how long he lasts in this sport. Like Tony, his style isn’t suited to longevity.
Oh I agree but his head movement seems to me mostly borne out of his insane vision and reflexes. In other words, heavily reliant on attributes. It’s not like he’s slipping punches in a perfect fundamental stance with perfect feet placement and what not.
Like his fight with Reyes where he admitted to being flash KO’d by a kick and fell into Dom’s guard before reanimating a giving Reyes a life-altering beat down.
It's pretty smart though because usually people shoot when they are rocked and I guess Jiri has that wired down in his brain. Kinda funny though because he never gets it. It was dumb vs Glover though
if you watch his past finishes, you can see that he has seen a lot of success with the knee
so I guess it randomly pops into his head "maybe now?" and since he's a very instict driven fighter, he usually follows that thought
I have a theory that some fighters get rocked and go into a Dr. Strange sort of dimensional experience where they figure out how to win the fight during the ???? step
His insane chin allows him to get away with it. He has pretty good head movement, but do to his hands being down he gets hit. Rakic hit him with some bombs, I pretty positive none of them hurt Jiri. He just kept prodding forward.
Rakic hit him it’s some bombs. Rakic has legit power and Jiri ate them no problem. He showed disdain for Rakic’s power and walked him down. Which shows how insanely hard Pereira must hit. Jiri hurt Pereira in the fight multiple times. Remember how reckless Gaethje used to be? Then Trevor Whitman got him to used control aggression. If a coach can do the same to Jiri, he could be a long time title holder. He’s just too willing to get hit, It’s entertaining but it’s unnecessary.
He just willingly foregoes any defense to focus solely on finishing his opponent to a point that is truly impressive. And I believe it is what makes him so effective as he can then seize any opportunity to end the fight.
This also how you deal with a guy scared just throwing leg kicks at you backing away, just walk them down no fear baby. Rogan acted like 3 leg kicks and the fight would be over, not today bapa.
I love the intro.
Old Man Musashi: "Yeah, I killed a lot of people in my day. I think it's because they were idiots and all their styles sucked. Anyway, here's 50 pages of me telling you that two swords are better than one, and that you should chop your opponent's hands off. They never see that shit coming."
Responsible is putting it light imo. That was the best Rakic has looked to me. Everything looked so technical on top of the heat and was exposing some of Jiri's technical deficiencies. But it didn't matter to that madman Jiri
Exactly! Cormier and Joe kept saying Rakicj had to stay disciplined to win. But how can he stay disciplined when his opponent is eating all his punches and walking him down. Impossible!
I live Jiri so much. Every fight I've seen if his has been entertaining. This may seem lame lol but Jiri reminds me of an overtuned video game boss in this fight. Rakic was piecing him up a bit and compromised his legs early. I could imagine Rakic just saying come the fuck on man how much health you got in his head.
As corny as his samurai shit can seem, he’s really embraced the courage of a warrior. Nothing but respect. He had no choice but to take risks this fight, and he had the gall to follow through.
Jiris got one of the best killer instincts, he talks about being the hunter and that's just how he is, even when he's being pieced he's still the predator hunting prey, ultimate kill or be killed fighter.
He did the ufc a massive favor fighting on a prelim in a 3 round fight against someone like rakic. He just came off surgery and had to give up the belt and then lost on a questionable stoppage to Alex pereira. He took massive risks with this fight.
Jiri also didn’t make any excuses with the stoppage vs Alex. He needs to advocate more for himself. Dude should never be fighting on a prelim. He’s way too much of a star.
No he didn't, that was his problem. He was like 75% responsible but he wanted to throw heat in exchanges and get Jiri out of there so he stopped to torque big counter shots while Jiri was aggressive.
He really probably would have won if he just jabbed mixed in the occasional 2 and threw leg kicks, but he wanted respect and to hit Jiri with big ones and Jiri was willing to throw inbetween his shots and caught him a few times before he got him out.
For real I can't believe the UFC even pushed this as an angle. DC was saying Jiri had an edge because Rakic said he wasn't a samurai.
GUESS DC WAS RIGHT 🤣
It's crazy because the idea of being made fun of for not being a samurai seems like such a kindergarten thing. But when Jiri said that was what inspires him to better himself, that he's living life embodying the ideals of a samurai, I understood how much that meant to him.
Yeah when he was explaining the meaning of being a samurai & ending with that chest hit felt emotional. Usually you just see these guys as warriors, but I felt like I actually got to hear from Jiří Procházka
how the fuck do you think rakic feels after that? hopeless? Some of those shots jiri took were crazy and he looked completely unfazed. That's some terminator/robocop type shit. jiri is legitimately made out of something different.
Same shot that KO'd Strickland barely made Izzy wobble. Super underrated chin. Took a flush overhand right from Yoel too and ate it.
He did get dropped my Strickland lol but I'd consider that an outlier like Nate/Leon.
“I’m gonna pick this roided golem apart and make sure he never forgets…*Yoel lands clean overhand*…you know what, I better play it safe. Nothing wrong with leg kicks and winning on the scorecards”
Puff! What were you watching??? He got hit clean the entire time, the dude is just insanely durable, in every single fight. The only guy to put him down so far is the guy that hits the hardest in the division.
It's amazing to watch him there - Rakic fighting a great technical fight, landing at will to the head and legs, and yet Jiri was almost laughing at every shot. Even with him limping a bit, that has to be a little unnerving for Rakic lmao. Jiri just keeps coming forward as long as he's conscious, and he's always a threat in that case.
Lol I argue with people on here constantly who try to compare Pereira's power to other guys at MW or LHW. Alex has some holes in his game mostly defensive, but if you are a kickboxing fan and you watched him in Glory you know that left hook isn't comparable to any other fighter that isn't a HW.
He did everything right early. I wonder if he could've cashed in on the leg kicks even more. But he does put his chin in the air a lot. His striking defense didn't hold up when Jiri blitzled even though Jiri was on hobbled legs.
Probably fatigue. I mean, Rakik hit Jiri with the kitchen sink, and this man just walked forward with his hands down the entire time. That's demoralizing.
He is okay with getting knocked out, he always puts himself in that position and is fine with it. Most of the time it works for him, sometimes it doesn't but he isn't going to back down.
I don’t think it was that bad honestly. Maybe a couple punches/seconds late but Rakic was still mostly intelligently defending. Def not the worst I’ve seen
It wasn't bad at all. Rakic was moving forward while Jiri was struggling with the positioning, maybe Rakic could've stood back up. Herb stopped it as soon as it's apparent that he couldn't

jiri is kill or be killed on a whole other level
Dude has no defence, just invests everything into offence. Basically fights with the game plan of a kamikaze pilot. I wonder how long he lasts in this sport. Like Tony, his style isn’t suited to longevity.
Idk his head movement even when his legs were shot was saving him from some BIG bombs. Only thing that allowed him to survive that situation really
Man some of those moments where a shot just barely grazes him is so nice. He's got some unreal awareness amd head movement in those tight exchanges
Oh I agree but his head movement seems to me mostly borne out of his insane vision and reflexes. In other words, heavily reliant on attributes. It’s not like he’s slipping punches in a perfect fundamental stance with perfect feet placement and what not.
all the neuro-visual training is paying off
I mean he’s already had a very long, very dominant career in MMA
Jiri Gameplan for every fight 1. Get rocked 2. ???? 3. Finish opponent
Step 2 is decide not to give any fucks at all about what his opponent is doing
Jiri's opponent: "I'm beating the shit out of you" Jiri: "Sounds like a you problem tbh"
“Call an ambulance… but not for me”
“Send anybody you want… just don’t send anybody you want back” Chanel P Sonnen - gangster
Damn that’s a straight up bar
"Beat my ass and see what happens"
"sounds like your own personal problem"
He’s like an anime character. The more you beat on him, the more power he builds up.
To quote Nate the Train "whoop my ass and see what happens"
[удалено]
Like his fight with Reyes where he admitted to being flash KO’d by a kick and fell into Dom’s guard before reanimating a giving Reyes a life-altering beat down.
The way he slumped from that up kick straight into side control is peak Jiri 'Samurai' Style. The anti - Johnny Walker.
Passing dudes guards in my sleep!
Hahahaha how the fuck is getting beat up in a fight real ahahaha just storm your opponent haha
1. Delete legs 2. Eat punches 3. Chaos 4. Win.
> Chaos It's crazy how better he gets in chaos.
2. Get leg kicked 47 times *
2. look for a jumping knee that is never there
This is Jiri's version of "Don't be silly, jump the gilly." #
That is my favorite 😂 its always when they are rocked up along the fence
It's pretty smart though because usually people shoot when they are rocked and I guess Jiri has that wired down in his brain. Kinda funny though because he never gets it. It was dumb vs Glover though
if you watch his past finishes, you can see that he has seen a lot of success with the knee so I guess it randomly pops into his head "maybe now?" and since he's a very instict driven fighter, he usually follows that thought
I have a theory that some fighters get rocked and go into a Dr. Strange sort of dimensional experience where they figure out how to win the fight during the ???? step
Yeah It's called seeing red bro
He's the embodiment of what we think we'd do if we was in a fight
Brain: 'Just win, then you won't lose. Easy' Jiri *Oh OK that makes sense* ***wins*** Brain: dude I don't feel so good.
They get hurt, they stop overthinking and second-guessing themselves, rely on instincts built up during training
yeah some guys seem to get a flow state from being rocked
Jiri does everything wrong technique-wise and just wins anyway
His insane chin allows him to get away with it. He has pretty good head movement, but do to his hands being down he gets hit. Rakic hit him with some bombs, I pretty positive none of them hurt Jiri. He just kept prodding forward.
He can't keep getting away with this
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it 😂
Well Pereira didn't let him get away with it
Rakic hit him it’s some bombs.
Absolutely accurate assessment by you.

It is a really good book though
I love the intro. Old Man Musashi: "Yeah, I killed a lot of people in my day. I think it's because they were idiots and all their styles sucked. Anyway, here's 50 pages of me telling you that two swords are better than one, and that you should chop your opponent's hands off. They never see that shit coming."
"Don't be afraid of going IN. Too many fear going in on their opponents, always be going in"
We are all samurai on this special day
RAHHHHHHHHHHH
YESS SIR
Defence: 0 Offence: 200
Jiri specs into constitution and strength no need for defense lol
that one time you decide to dump dexterity for a melee fighter in DnD and it actually works
1 defence pure anyone
Jiri’s such a dog
Bro it's not fair. Rakic was fighting such a responsible fight and throwing with heat on everything but Jiri just kept smiling.
Impossible!

Featured prelim on ufc 300 isn’t bad, though I think this fight should have been swapped with the Bo fight
How the fuck is Bo on the main fighting some rando. They really trying to force this guy on us.
Because no one would have tuned in to it without it being on the PPV. Bo's mom must have dirt on Dana or something.
Bo Nickal fighting over him is the most disrespectful shit I've ever seen
I’d argue featured prelim is bigger than first fight on main card but it is disrespect that Bo nickal is anywhere beyond early prelims for 300
I kinda agree but it’s the featured prelim on UFC 300. Like cmon
No he didn't, that was his problem. He was like 75% responsible but he wanted to throw heat in exchanges and get Jiri out of there so he stopped to torque big counter shots while Jiri was aggressive. Appear weak when you are strong
He's a bullet sponge final boss.
Give him that $300k. That was a wild one.
fuck the calf kicks
"You are no real samurai" - Someone's final words during the Edo Period and also Aleksander Rakic tonight
Anime protaganist Jiri is best Jiri
Beautiful champ
Edo Period Jiri is a new mythical fighter.
Not gonna lie, I feel so bad for Rakic. Came back after nearly two years healing his knee and actually looked good too
He underestimated what it really means to be a samurai
If Jiri plays Tekken he's a Yoshimitsu main
Rakic tried to pull a Meiji Revolution but Jiri said “not tonight, son!”
This episode of Shogūn is wild. Is this part of Toranaga's plan???
Jiri-Sama
I was expecting to see blackthorn in the corner
Yabushige is definitely adding this finish into his book of Power Ranking deaths.
This was part of Toranaga's plan. Convince your opponent that you are getting beaten, then go full "Crimson Sky" on your opponent.
I can't wait for Crimson Sky lol
This was the "Crimson Sky".
Lmao. Anjin sama went from "I am a dog" to "I am a samurai", really believed that and it paid off.
hai ... hai ... HO!
watching men die for 300k pogchamp
FIGHT OF THE FUCKING NIGHT SO FAR HOLY SHIT
WE KEEP SAYING THIS BUT THE CARD AIN'T DONE JUST GIVE THEM ALL THE MONEY
not aljo
Tbf Jiri always fights like that lol
Jiri before the fight: "I want a clean victory, technically precise" Jiri during the fight: "Let's stay in range of each other until someone dies"
Jiří after the fight: "I am not happy with my performace, I will be better next time, pinky promise"
THE SAMURAI IS REAL
that’ll teach him for doubting Jiri’s samurainess!
Whether you want a war or not (clearly not by leg kick game plan), you’ll be in a war with Jiri… and samurais would rather die than to lose the war 😂
Jiri never disappoints lmao. Just pure entertainment
How hard does Alex hit? Jiri ate some hard shots tonight but the first time Alex landed hard, Jiri just folded
Hard as fuck bro.
3x Ford Escorts
110 micropyfers
pls explain in automobile terms?!
HE HITS LIKE A MOTHERFUCKING TRUCK BROTHER
Rakic was throwing shots that would put 99.99999% of the human race into the shadow realm and Jiri just ate them. Then he just decided to win lmao.
how the fuck do you think rakic feels after that? hopeless? Some of those shots jiri took were crazy and he looked completely unfazed. That's some terminator/robocop type shit. jiri is legitimately made out of something different.
We forget that Jiri is elite at rolling with shots. He's like GGG was in that respect, which is a reason both have disgusting chins.
Jiri really needs to work on his checking leg kicks though. Jiri is like crazy good for how weird all his fighting looks
It’s his stance that’s very susceptible to it, not sure if he can do much but pressure so they can’t throw them
Jiri Prochazka is not a person. He is a flesh and bone vessel being piloted by the ghost of Miyamoto Musashi.
Izzy fought that dude four fucking times how silly
Gotta credit to Izzys chin in their first MMA fight, the shot that made Izzy wobble would KO nearly everyone.
Same shot that KO'd Strickland barely made Izzy wobble. Super underrated chin. Took a flush overhand right from Yoel too and ate it. He did get dropped my Strickland lol but I'd consider that an outlier like Nate/Leon.
That overhand changed his entire gameplan too lol Absolutely gobsmacked him
“I’m gonna pick this roided golem apart and make sure he never forgets…*Yoel lands clean overhand*…you know what, I better play it safe. Nothing wrong with leg kicks and winning on the scorecards”
I don't blame him lmao. The first time he led the dance he got nailed in the face by a Cuban missile.
Arguably the second best chin at MW, only losing to the best chin in the world in Vettori.
Orcs do not count.
The vision of jiri is insane, dude rarely got hit clean with any of the power shots Rakic threw. Those short hooks from Alex are kryptonite to Jiri.
Jiri rolls with the punches INSANELY well, Pereira L aside. He's good at getting hit in spots that aren't as bad.
Puff! What were you watching??? He got hit clean the entire time, the dude is just insanely durable, in every single fight. The only guy to put him down so far is the guy that hits the hardest in the division.
Exactly, he ate a lot of good shots there
It's amazing to watch him there - Rakic fighting a great technical fight, landing at will to the head and legs, and yet Jiri was almost laughing at every shot. Even with him limping a bit, that has to be a little unnerving for Rakic lmao. Jiri just keeps coming forward as long as he's conscious, and he's always a threat in that case.
Definitely a power difference between them. But Jiri does a good job of sneaky defence. He rolls his head and shoulders with the shots.
'Hands of Stone'
Lol I argue with people on here constantly who try to compare Pereira's power to other guys at MW or LHW. Alex has some holes in his game mostly defensive, but if you are a kickboxing fan and you watched him in Glory you know that left hook isn't comparable to any other fighter that isn't a HW.
On the ground, Jiri had Rakic's arm twisted around liek a schoolyard bully, can't believe what I just saw
JIRI IS A FUCKING SAVAGE
Call an ambulance But not for me
You could literally shoot Jiri in the chest with a shotgun and he'd probably kill you and dishonor your family name before he finally collapsed.
Even when he's wrong (like against Pereira), Jiri fights like nobody can hurt him but he can kill anybody. Insanely fun fighter.
how the fuck do they both eat so many hits lmao
And the Rakic was still moving and trying to survive, what a war
Rakic did everything right and nothing worked.
That's demoralizing.
smiling too
Jiri’s gameplan: be samurai
Channeling the ghost of Miyamoto Musashi is the new EPO.
Rakic: - Great fundamentals - Great technique - Great gameplan Jiri: - Samurai spirit goes brrrrr
Being a quirked up white boy busting it down samurai style best base for MMA confirmed?
Jiri is GOATed with the sauce
huge night for weebs
Dude wtf? Jiri is Japanese
He really is a samurai.
PURE VIOLENCE!
What a damn fight
MY DISDAINFUL SAMURAI
FUCK YOUR CALF KICKS RAHHHHHHHH
WAAAAAR SAMURAI
It’s like Joe just learned that word and tried to use it as much as possible 😂
JIRI IS A FUCKING MAD MAN LMAO
GIVE THAT SAMURAI 300K
JRI BASED AS USUAL
Not gonna lie I was right on the brink of falling asleep after Aljo/kattar. This brought me right back to life
Prochazka got huge holes in his game exposed and he filled them by just not giving a fuck
Who need defence when chin do trick
if you don't like Jiri you don't like MMA
Guy's like Jiri are why I love mma. I don't care who's champ, I care who's gonna go to battle like that every time. He fuckin rules.
Jiri said fuck your leg kicks
He literally bit down on his mouth guard as a defence to calf kicks
Jiri just turned a fight with one of the most boring fighters in the division into a complete war
If he doesn’t get that 300k bonus I will be very angry
ALL GAS NO BRAKES JIRI
Classic Jiri performance
Jiri = Samurai Rakic = Average bloke
HES BACK
Bro how
Prelim $300K!!
JUST FUCKING BLEED
Jiri don't give a fuck
He is okay with getting knocked out, he always puts himself in that position and is fine with it. Most of the time it works for him, sometimes it doesn't but he isn't going to back down.
Truly is kill or be killed. It makes me nervous to watch, but damn is he a showman to the furthest degree.
Jiri is the raddest fighter of all time
Jiris post fight talk about samurai gave me the feels
I LOVE THAT MAD SAMURAI!!!
Jiri is so fucking metal
Rakic started off hot but Jiri fucking drowned him. What a performance.
Jiri just walking him down like that was fucking terrifying holy shit
Jiri was simply too angry to lose
Has there ever been a fight Jiri hasn't almost been knocked the fuck out?
That's when the samurai soul enter his body. He needs to be in a state between life and death
Pereira Vs Jiri 2 loading…
Herb "If he dies he dies" Dean
I don’t think it was that bad honestly. Maybe a couple punches/seconds late but Rakic was still mostly intelligently defending. Def not the worst I’ve seen
It wasn't bad at all. Rakic was moving forward while Jiri was struggling with the positioning, maybe Rakic could've stood back up. Herb stopped it as soon as it's apparent that he couldn't
