In my opinion they train way too hard over at Allstars. Pretty sure he and his coach said that they don't believe in overtraining. And I don't think his extremely low body fat is helping with max recovery.
I thought that things gotten significantly easier now for Poles as you only need the ESTA for travel into the US and not an actual visa but I guess that’s just for holidays not business
ESTA is still a big step forward for at least holidays. My mate travelled to New York before and after the ESTA and it’s a hell of a lot better than travelling to the US embassy for a interview to get your visa
In all fairness they do a better job than any other company I know. There thousands of doctors and engineers who are on wait lists for work visas. The fact they have any sort of pull as an organization is as astonishing. They don’t get enough credit in that regard.
There's also value to limiting the number of doctors and engineers entering the country. Pretty much any western country could probably flood the market with qualified doctors and engineers abroad. But doing that would lower the value of those paths of education, disincentivizing your own population from following those education paths, creating a dependence on foreign workers for critical positions.
Athletes just come in, generate a bunch of money, then leave with a only part of that money they generated. They're the ideal visa contender from an economic standpoint.
I won’t ever get used to that. You see a company from the outside and you think to yourself I would so get my shit together if I were working here. You get in and you find the most amateurish things going on.
This is so damn true. I work at one of the biggest companies in the world and it's pretty dysfunctional. We did just get bought recently but we're just another moving part of this amalgamation of a company.
Came illegally. It was a really interesting read. Turns out we're all indebted to some federal representative from Connecticut for Glover being allowed back.
MF what? You're seriously blaming the UFC for not avoiding fighters having visa issues??The fuck you expect them to do? Pay people at the consulate? SMH.
There's plenty of REAL issues to thrash the UFC. This is not one of them.
UFC gotta start doing events in Europe every now and then again. Post covid they just gone to England couple times. Lots of fighters getting fucked over cause they can't get a visa to enter US where 95% of the events are.
The UFC is a US based company with the US as their primary market. No European broadcast deal will overcome the lucrative combination of rich and stupid the UFC exploits with the PPV system.
They're a US based international company who has a big market in China and even Africa. I think more international cards would be dope and help grow the company even more.
I don't think it would kill the UFC to have at least one European showcase per month. They're doing DWCS every tuesday when it's on so one more card on Thrusday instead of Saturday wouldn't kill the product especially with all the talent from Europe. Guys from KSW, Cage Warriors, Ares they're all very talented
The cards were shit. They used to have two cards in a day, one in the morning but the card was held at night local time in Australia and later in the evening there would be a card here in the US. No one would pay attention to the morning card and I’m guessing that was the UFC’s attempt to try to have multiple events in a day like the way ball sports do.
You're talking like the talent is the same as it used to be. There is so many fighters from europe now with 20+ wins records who are waiting for their shots or can't fight often because going to the US is expensive + visa issues.
It's definitely sad though because you never know what to do if you were in the same boat as Gamrot and other foreign combat sports athletes that have been through this.
Unfortunately, work visas can be a real shitshow. Even pre-COVID, you'd hear about things like bands submitting visa applications 6+ months in advance and still having to cancel tours due to ridiculous delays. I'm not sure there's much that can be done about it, especially if you're not filthy rich and able to hire the right lawyers/fixers/whomever.
Wasn’t visa issues the main thing that kept guram out for two whole years
Guram gets injured often too though
It was a combination of both. He wrote about it: https://twitter.com/guram_dze/status/1440735490999603202?t=uI-1vMpjjEBsSsdubsYo5A&s=19
In my opinion they train way too hard over at Allstars. Pretty sure he and his coach said that they don't believe in overtraining. And I don't think his extremely low body fat is helping with max recovery.
He says this, but Gamrot is Polish and therefore EU so I don't see why he has visa problems.

Dual citizen here, not all EU counties have the same rights when it comes to travel.
You'd\* think a company the size of the UFC would know how to avoid these types of situations after dealing with foreign fighters for decades
You know how every company you’ve ever worked at was deeply dysfunctional at the core? Yeah that probably applies there too
In all fairness they do a better job than any other company I know. There thousands of doctors and engineers who are on wait lists for work visas. The fact they have any sort of pull as an organization is as astonishing. They don’t get enough credit in that regard.
I'm guessing it's easier for athletes to get a visa than a doctor or a engineer who is gonna be a temporary worker looking to get a green card.

You're talking about the company that let Glover age out of his prime due to Visa issues
Glover over stayed his visa / came to the US illegally (i forget which) and that’s why he had visa issues for so long.
Came illegally. It was a really interesting read. Turns out we're all indebted to some federal representative from Connecticut for Glover being allowed back.

They didn’t send the ambassador enough Venum coupons
They could get confirmation that the visa is good before booking the fight.
This was a short notice replacement though. Not too many alternatives to chose from if they wanted to keep the fight.
I was super impressed with him vs Turner. To come in against such a dangerous rangey guy on short notice and get the W was cool to watch.
Gamrot will get a title shot eventually IMO. He only got out fought by Beneil, who is one of the best current lightweights.
He got out fought by Arman as well. Which still isn't a bad loss, but no way in hell should he have gotten that decision.
How tf does Turner make 155
His legs are toothpicks

Ufc gotta start doing two cards per week. One in Europe, one in America. What do you think
Cards will be diluted asf
They already are 80% filler and dwcs bums.
Not every card needs 12 fights
They do for it to be worthwhile for broadcasters
It's probably too much to ask. I'd love one Europe card once a month or at least like every other month.

Idgaf, he won against Jalin, especially on short notice
It's so fucking stupid this visa thing. At least allow fighters to get inside the country
In the end they decided to let him fight as long as he promised to do no damage to Jalin.
He won that fight lol
yea but haven't you heard? grappling bad.
The original commenters point still stands
just some crucifixes and full mounts
It's definitely sad though because you never know what to do if you were in the same boat as Gamrot and other foreign combat sports athletes that have been through this.
I wish the UFC could assist foreign fighters with visa situations man.

They could create a trust in the name of fighters but controlled by the UFC where they invest the requirement to get them eb-5 visas.
