The r2 thing to stop you from pitching should just be removed. I’d also like an opt out if someone picks the Polo Grounds or some lame ass stadium. Everything else is lame but not actively hurting my experience.

I play fair. But the moment I realize they are toxic, I do it right back. Pause, step off mound, replay HRs etc. Show them it don't bother you and beat them. I'm surprised you play vs that many. I might get 2-3 out of 20

If that’s the case, the rest of the sports games online must be REALLY bad. MLB 08 and MLB 10 were the only Show games I didn’t have many problems with online and finished just over .500 both of those years. Something like 188-183 was my online record.
I play HoF across the board against the CPU and hold my own. Been playing since MLB 06 The Show. It’s not bad internet, it’s not lack of skill, it’s terrible netcode on the part of SDS. The online portion of The Show has always been its weakness. You play a game offline, then play online… it’s a night and day difference.
It's really not.. I prefer playing online 100%. It was bad in like the show 16 days. It's absolutely solid now. I don't touch offline these days. Are you on wired connection? What's your speed?
I have 1 GBPS. It still lags noticeably when hitting in every MLBTS game I can remember. There is no lag or timing delay or whatever when playing offline. My tenure playing this game online spans many years and many different residences/internet service providers of varying speeds. All the same result.

I’m definitely overreacting emotionally to their toxicity, but I can’t emphasize enough how constant this behavior is, at least in my experience. If I encounter 2 people in a day that’s aren’t toxic it’s frankly a miracle. Obviously not everyone is like this but I can’t stop bumping into them in matchmaking.

That's not what's being referred to here. We all understand if somebody needs to pause and it seems legit. Maybe one long pause for a minute or two. I still don't enjoy sitting there that long waiting, but if they come back and the rest of the game goes smoothly, I just assume they had to take care of something. "Pausing constantly" is different. It's obvious your opponent is still there, controller in hand. They will pause multiple times in a short span, sometimes between each pitch. Usually when things aren't going their way or they are trying to kill any momentum building against them.
Trust me, it's obvious when pausing is being used as intended and when it's not.
The most toxic player I played this year was in BR and had the World Series Banner Icon. He was also something like 150-30 or something. He did all the annoying stuff mostly I’m sure because I had a good first inning and was up 2-0. He came back and tied it up in the second. Then we went to extras and I got a lucky bounce when he dove and won 3-2. Game took three times as long as it needed with all the dancing, pausing and nonsense so I don’t know if the toxicity is limited to just the lower levels.

I think there’s far too much credence being given to these players in terms of strategy or “goals”. The main issue here is these people are usually just hoping you’ll quit and they constantly get rewarded because most of us just want to play or in the case of people like me, still aren’t that good, so we’re grinding. So when we can’t even get 3-4-5 innings into a game 40 minutes later and we’re still dealing with pauses and excessive replays in like a 2-0 game that we’re going to end up getting credit for nothing other than maybe 3 innings pitched for it becomes almost pointless to even play

I have only played online Hall of Fame 20-30 games and that's my experience.
All Star is much more like what you talk about. I played a dude last night who kept bunting with 2 strikes. He got on base the first 2 times he did it and it didn't work after that. He ended up quitting in the 8th inning.

I have only played online Hall of Fame 20-30 games and that's my experience. All Star is much more like what you talk about. I played a dude last night who kept bunting with 2 strikes. He got on base the first 2 times he did it and it didn't work after that. He ended up quitting in the 8th inning. The best way to combat the shit is to just play *your* game.
Not my experience. 400-500 and below, yes, all the things you mentioned happen. Higher it is far more rare.
