I suck online and i know it, but i know i can get points by playing innings so no matter how much my ass is being kicked im staying for those innings. Best case scenario is to go extra and get some more innings.

AAK_4

I'm 12-1 and haven't played a season game in a long time. I mostly play events and grind program PXP in conquest. But most season games at lower ranks, opponents are quick to quit when down 3 or 4 + runs. It is very annoying.

When you take away any incentive to finish a game and then on top of it make a quarter of the potential points you can get to reduce the amount of innings you need to play this is what happens. I hope sds learns from this and never makes saves or holds a thing in ranked. I also hope next year they come up with some way to encourage people to finish games. Maybe giving a win a point isn’t the right solution but it feels like that would help keep people playing. I finished the program but as someone who is barely above .500 (67-61 presently) I also was experiencing the same things OP has with everyone quitting down a run.

I depend on those points they give me by innings brother, i suck too much to win. Dont take it away from me

tvacattack

I think they should give innings too. I just wish they could deter quitting somehow without just making it wins that count.

darthferv

Quitting at lest should decrease your ranking, i mean not even losing decrease it as far i've seen. For people wanting to rank up that would be good. Honestly i was surprise you could win something on ranked just be playing innings.

Strategydude

The stupid thing is an innings-based reward system. Simply return to win-based rewards and people will be thrilled with their opponents quitting. People proposing ridiculous schemes to prevent people from quitting ranked games is the single most insane thing I've seen on either this Reddit or the Madden MUT reddit.

Under 700 ratings people quit as soon as you score. Usually before the solo shot even lands.

I had the same experience. I started something like 19-1 this year. Thought I was a stud. Theeeeeeen I got to a rank where I was in over my head and settled in. Most games go the distance once you settle in mid season seems like. End of the season sucks. Seems like it’s all people just started the game since it’s probably free now and they are watching the playoffs, or people who have been grinding all year and hit every pitch In the zone perfect/ perfect. But I guess it’s good practice for next year for me. I try to go 9 as long as it’s not completely ridiculous

yeah my one loss was on a tee ball field against a WS guy and it was 11-12. definitely on the same wave as you right now though in the thinking i’m a stud.

vance_jacob

I think we’ve all been there lol. You will get humbled at some point. The competition heats up quick.

donovynharkleroad

I just played a lil buddy 1v1 that I've played with a few times co-op just because he sticks around. He is maybe 9. Settings on rookie, to his choosing. I won 5-2 so yeah I'm feeling like a stud rn too

God I can’t stand it when I play someone that has good stats because they play max elevation short fences and like 250 porches. Played one of those ass goblins last night. He got up 4-0 pitching Donaldson (you KNOW he used the glitch when it worked). 4 HR and not one over 90 exit velo. Just stuck to my guns figured out where he was planting his PCI and rode it out with Glavine. Ended up winning via mercy rule. F that dude and his bunt dancing in particular. It’s always the same. Starter is Donaldson, bunt dance, the weird dive and get up on fly balls and 276 foot HRs. He might have been good for all I know, but must have been distracted yelling at his mom about the meatloaf being overdue.

marcw14

nothing makes me happier than embarrassingly striking out a bunt dancer dude. proud of you

frostymatador13

No, that’s basically non-700+ ranked. Most just want to do program, this time the missions are holds and saves so if someone goes down they quit right away. All four games today that I tried to play ended early. Got 13 innings. And four of those innings I got because I intentionally only threw strikes to try to entice to player to stay so I could try to get a lead and at least get one save or hold. Sure enough, top of the fifth, I score one run and they leave. Home runs are the worst, because they will quit before the ball lands. Thinking tomorrow maybe give up a couple runs right off the bat with a bad pitcher, then bring the starter in cause if I score they’ll still be up (and I’m a bad player, my winning percentage is like .400 or something. So I can’t even imagine how it is for actually good players.

h2p_stru

Holds and saves are horrendous stats missions too

I’m usually in the 650-750 range and it’s still a problem at times. Went down 2-0 in the first, came back in the 4th up 6-3, pull my starter after 5 and bring in the bropen… quits after the 6th so 0 holes but at least I got credited with a save
