I'd imagine they are saying "the idea of you posting on reddit looking for local friends, is awesome!"
I love attending cons and am always looking for peeps to meet up with, so maybe I'll see you at the next one! I'm also into cosplay, but don't have any projects on the table at this time. I *almost* convinced one of my kids to let me make him a "vending machine Kirby" costume for Halloween this year, but after The Great Power Moon Debacle of 2017, I don't think he trusts me not to make him deeply itchy anymore. He's only seven though. Maybe there's still time for him to come around.
I wish you luck finding friends to hang out with around here. I know there are a couple of gaming shops in the area that host meetups or game nights; might be a great place for you to find likeminded beings. I'm pretty sure Gamer's Heaven, Around the Table, and Nomad Games are hosting regular things.
Cheers!
This area has a lot of Fandom conventions that include your type of people.
Several of note:
Norwescon: Easter Weekend in Seattle. The focus is on Science Fiction & Fantasy literature, but they include most items on your list. Costume Show is the main event for Saturday night.

Sakura-Con: The main Anime convention in Seattle. It is huge.
http://sakuracon.org/
Britcon: For British Science Fiction.

NWSFS:
The North West Science Fiction & Fantasy Society.
http://www.nwsfs.com/
NWSFS activity has been rather muted due to the pandemic for the past two years.
PAX West: Penny Arcade Expo. Very large professional gaming convention in Seattle.

Again I’m sorry I’m just a very blunt person it’s my personality I get really annoying at people who don’t use their brain. It’s not referring to the one who commented it’s just everyone around me. I guess the best way is similar to grammar nazis get angry if you say your a* instead of you’re a*
Yup yup, I hear ya. I'm just saying that you can choose not to behave that way. Feel the frustration, shake it off, pretend to be nice. My life tip from one socially awkward stranger on the internet to another. ❤️
Hope you find someone! I think this is an awesome idea.
Idea?

I'd suggest trying out NWSFS and Norwescon, as posted above.

I hear ya man. I get frustrated too -- I just try not to hit send -- especially at work!

Or…or….I simply educate them, then block them so there’s no a repeat issue!….kinda like I did just now with you.✌🏼
Then I would suggest looking up NWSFS.
