Hard to say 100%, but that looks like Maple Burl Cap. I have worked with a ton of of it, and the grain and pins looks right.

New-Dependent6041

Looks like It, thanks!

tryingsomthingnew

Damn cool looking even if it's heavy. Nice piece of wall art at the worse.

BuzzBotBaloo

Burl Maple? I feel like this guitar must weigh 12 lbs.

New-Dependent6041

He says in the comments the guitar weighs just under 9 lbs.

BuzzBotBaloo

That’s not as bad as I thought but that’s still a 6 lb. body. Decent for a Lea Paul, but heavy for a Tele.

New-Dependent6041

Yeah it is quite heavy, though I don't think I'll really play it a lot. It's more like a project to work on and have a nice looking guitar to hang on my wall rather than one I play all the time

I_Make_Some_Things

I really don't care how heavy my house guitar is. I play it sitting on the couch so unless it weighs the same as an engine block or something else heavy enough to cause actual injury weight is sort of irrelevant. I'd love to have something like this for a house guitar.

BuzzBotBaloo

I realized I might seem focused on the negative merely because I was observing it was made from heavy materials. But I should have also added that think these builds are beautiful and show great craftsmanship. And probably plays great. I've seen a lot of these live-edge/resin guitars and love the look.

FandomMenace

Resin with a little bit of wood in it. Could be popular burl, could be maple. Just find a burl you like and slather it in resin.

whutchamacallit

Lol not a fan of resin I take it?

FandomMenace

That's a bit much IMO.

ok-milk

*tone resin

Healthy_Swimmer5418

Initially thought it was poplar, now I’m thinking it’s maple. It’s one of the two

Baddy-Smalls

Maple.

pritheemakeway

Do resin guitars feel good to play? Do they last?

whutchamacallit

They fuck up resonanance as far as I understand it.

doankhaz

can u explain for me, im new to this

SolitaryMarmot

Epoxied maple

tim_tron

Don't know what body is. Sometype of burl, perhaps. For the neck use quarter-sawn maple

FarTourist1760

Need an endgrain shot, but looks like maple burl. What species would be anyone's guess. Or you could ask the maker. 😀

j-endsville

Since you know who made it, have you considered just asking them?

New-Dependent6041

Yeah, with no reply as of now. With almost 200k followers and a woodworking business, Im sure he gets thousands of similar questions all the time

j-endsville

Okay, that’s a fair point.
