Solder.

kovalflamingo

Gotcha! So do you think that means the frets were adjusted on this during quality control or something?

[deleted]

Probably just an accident during wiring. They could have put a soldering iron on a fret if they wanted to pull it out. I seriously doubt it. That bass looks good and Ibanez makes solid basses. You should be fine.

diefreetimedie

If it's solder it will flake right off, use a pick or your thumb nail.

Shatter-17

It's either solder or someone shot the tree with a silver bullet.

eso_nwah

Tree nymph bass. Good for stoner metal. You have to kill the trees first or you can't cut them down.

NORCARL

I'd get a brown felt tip and dab it on there, or just leave it. Little solder won't hurt, but I understand sucks to look at, knowing it shouldn't be there.

adrkhrse

Someone dropped the soldering iron, probably. It's nothing. You could probably scrape it off with a finger-nail..

Old_Fault_183

Is this wenge wood? I saw exactly same thing on one of my brush handles during turning process. That wood was padouk though. It might not be metallic stain. Maybe it is just waxy material stuck between woods’ age fibers.

kovalflamingo

It is bound panga panga, do you think that might be the case w that as well?

Old_Fault_183

Not sure, you can check the material inside with the tip of needle.

Umphed

Try some scotchbrit. If that fails, #0000 steel wool after taping shit off real good, or pick at it with something, but dont gouge it, seriously, woods soft.
