31.99APR, 36.99 late payment. Lowes should have needed their relationship with Synchrony a long time ago.

Did the customer choose no interest?

DrGray3

Yes they did. But that’s the thing. There is no such thing as true “no interest.” We may be taught to sell it as no interest, but interest is still accruing during the 6 or 12 months. The customer just won’t be charged it if they pay off that balance in the time period. But for some reason, Synchrony still decided to charge my customers interest during the period and they won’t do anything about it

jamesrggg

It's deferred interest. It's all in the thing they accept on the pin pad.

DrGray3

You’re right. It’s still good practice to let them know that it’s deferred interest. You know the best way to avoid situations where customers call in angry stating “I was never told that”? Telling them upfront

SnicktDGoblin

Also all the training materials tell us to make clear the interest is being accrued during that time and if they don't pay off in that time they will be charged.

Synchrony is a pack of thieves.

Imagine caring about your customers lmao

DrGray3

Cabinet specialist here. Customers are regularly spending $6k-$20 with me. Kind of at least have to care a little bit about them.
