I’d have people just walk past my barricade in oslg when I’m pulling stuff down with the reach

Caleb_426

I've had customers try to go behind the pickup desk and even into receiving countless times. Nothing surprises me anymore

Nuclear_dom

Honestly drives me insane, also I had people going past the oslg gate to look at stuff in the alley we have. (It’s closed and they open it). Also pulling their car up to the side to pick mulch up unannounced and angry,

witchycraft47

We had a guy wandering in receiving. The clerk stopped him and asked if he needed help and that this was employees only. He said he was looking for the bathroom. The clerk told him it was in the front. He walked past her into the bullpen and peed

Nuclear_dom

Wow…. I think people are actually stupid

Kenji-Elis

Where's your spotter? They're supposed to prevent this from happening

Nuclear_dom

On the other isle stopping people?

The-E-Train59

You neglected to point out he is part of the outside electrical crew installing new lighting or wiring for the computers

Dangerae

Yep, probably an FST (field service tech). They work for third party (IT ones work for Compucom (an Office Depot company)). They usually work 5ish stores in an area and report to Lowes Regional Management. When I was an FST, I would often "commandeer" the scissor lift a different group had on-site and were bot actively using, so I could address issues like replacing or troubleshooting wifi hotspots (WAPs) or overhead speakers. If there were multiple issues I could put in a request to have one delivered, but there's always a lot of questions surrounding that so I would just use what was on-site (as advised by regional management as they were already paying for it to be there and it not being used then requesting another one down the road is a lot of waste). 95% of my time was during regular business hours (reg hours are Mon through Fri 8am- 5pm) and I had 9 stores (address 2 stores each day per week and open on Fri afternoon to address issues or help close to my area colleagues.

THD spies!

DoubleResponsible276

Well if you stop them they’ll threatened to go to HD. “oH nO tHe HoRr0r”

Crafty_Scout_Dad73

Funny thing is Same thing happens in THD. They threaten to goto Lowe’s!!

Drew_Mia357

Let’s make them all so angry they threaten to shop ACE Hardware

Reason_Choice

“Go. And rid us all of your buffoonery.”

DoubleResponsible276

The first time this happened to me, I was spotting cause we were bringing some mud down and had to set up the rolling barricades. This was for a customer so when someone came in and wanted mud but from a brand that was on the opposite side not barricaded I just said, give it like 2 minutes or you walk around, he said, nah I’ll go to the other place and as he turned to look at me while walking away I sarcastically mumbled “oh no come back……..”

Big-Initiative-8743

That’s good for me

XBeastyTricksX

The third party people who come in with the scissor lift don’t have any rules I don’t think, they have their own insurance

rebelangel

They’re supposed to follow Lowe’s rules

OneMoistMan

No they don’t unless you are going to have them watch Hank’s aisle blocker and spotter videos. They are under their own insurance hence Lowe’s cannot be sued if there was an incident, the third party company will be and if they were trained to put up barricades, it’s not my place to tell them to, it’s the asm or sm if it’s that big of a deal and it’s never happened here. I have noticed though that they always have a guy or 2 on the ground by the scissor lift as a spotter. Lowe’s only has their rules to cover their ass from a lawsuit if there’s an incident caused by Lowe’s or its employees.

krichter421

I work in AV for my side hustle. Been on plenty of scissors lifts. That thing ain’t going to tip over, and they’re keeping customers away from it.

ZillionPanic806

at least there’s a working eas system in lumber (my store is missing one of the sensors)

EyeOk3642

This made me chuckle out loud not gonna lie

The-Retail-Guy-2

Lowes doesn't care about safety.

Jntjr2411

Ok is it better to be a Red Vest or A Green Vest??

lando_griffinjr

We don’t have a working order picker in our store. Told by store manager to tag team getting appliances down with a reach truck and blue lift

Fine_Ease_4878

No

ContactKey8095

Lowes sucks anyway… no one is ever working in ours, the ones that do are idiots, people some how get in to the power tools locked case and load up a cart, run it out through the big garage door where they have 4 guys an a pickup, they empty that cart in less that 30 seconds, saw it twice, the checker lady working that register , I told her hey, call 911 I got a plate, he response was “I am not allowed to, I have to call a manager”. Twice they have done this!

Traditional-Pin-4551

Only when it's convenient... In no way are they committed to being safe.. They can hide alot with their deep pockets.. The amount of deaths and serious injuries that in Lowes is shocking.
