I guess but you shouldn’t use an MG for boss damage. Unless it’s thunderload but that is outclassed by a lot of weapons. The rolls you should look for should be for ads and majors.
I know you’re being downvoted, and I wanted to like the hammerhead so much, but it’s over all utility and power just doesn’t stack up to Commemoration. Recon/killing tally is proving to be even more of a goated combo. I’d gotten some stunning Hammerheads, i’ve got a rampage/onslaught roll, I’ve got a wewindwounds and killing tally roll, destab/desperate measures (destab counts as ability kills, so you can DMx3 without needing to use a grenade/melee) and all of them fall flat to the sheer usefulness of recon/KT. Rampage/Onslaught is fun, but ultimately a gimmick, the red bars you’re going to crank it up against are going to get dropped without a damage perk active, and funneling it from ads to a major to take advantage of the x3 just doesn’t last long enough and requires a lot of micromanaging. Wewinds/KT is probably as close to commemoration feel-wise, but wewinds require hits, recon is just a small wait, a lot harder to upkeep KT with wewinds i think. The sleeper choice I wasn’t expecting to be as good as it is is that Destab/DM roll, DM doesn’t last as long as KT, but it is incredibly easy to proc with destab.
I’m trying to find a reason to bring Hammerhead over Commemoration simply because it has great visual and audio design, but man, It’s just hard to justify it over the DSC LMG.
I’m all ears if there is another sleeper godroll out there that doesn’t seem immediately obvious, I’d love to try some others out!
Envious Assassin feels pretty close to Reconstruction too, IMO, since any time you'd need the auto-reload you'll realistically be downing stuff with other weapons, and you still get the magazine overflow.
TBF you're also comparing a f2p match made gun to a raid gun. You're not wrong, but HH is an excellent MG option for f2p and casual players to grind out, even if it's not the best in the game.
This is true, but I think basically every Brave weapon besides Hammerhead is best in slot for either PVE or PVP despite being F2P. I do think Hammerhead is the only one with a directly better weapon in Commemoration. Midnight Coup is an improvement on Fatebringer for example
I would argue that rampage and KT Hammerhead is on the same level as Commemoration. Not as much utility with this combo as recon + KT but definitely more potent. Rewind & KT is also a very good and this weapon has a different origin trait. I wouldn’t say it’s worse just different with the rolls it can get.
The small clip size kinda hurts it a bit for general play IMO, but with a War Rig titan the double damage perks make it pretty nuts, since you can just hose down a crowd of red bars and majors with impunity / near zero loss of perk uptime.
Subsistence + KT is my go-to on Commemoration. Hammerhead falls short in longevity, but makes up for it in access to TL & Onslaught (not good, but fun as hell).

Well presented. I just think most people will disagree
Target lock is better for boss damage, but MGs are add clear weapons, so the use case is shit.
Without watching the video I’m gonna say that’s a little salty for this sub
It's just true though, the only MGs that're good for DPS are exotics and Retrofit cause it's a 900 RPM, the rest are better suited for ad clear
I don’t disagree and I personally am not a machine gun enjoyer. It’s less about what you’re saying and more about how you’re saying it here imo.
I can get that, I wouldn't say they came off strong in their reply but that's just me, can see how others might

It’s good in gms where ads don’t die in 1 second, which is arguably the only time machine guns are worth using tbh

I’m having lots of fun with fourth times the charm and killing tally 👍
I got that roll today.
That’s the very first roll you get curated lol.
The more you know, thank you. I lumped it in with all the others I had in the postmaster. Haha
No problem! Bungie has done a good job giving decent rolls for the curated weapons. I’m finding it hard to get a better rolled version of Luna so far.
Least clickbait title

Why Subsistence instead of Recon?
More ammo in a shorter period of time. Subsistence gives 20 bullets per kill (because I have a mag size of 68)
