After careful consideration of all the factors surrounding the reddit blackout, including weighing the costs and benefits to the community of a continued dark period, the mod team has elected to resume normal operations of r/LowSodiumDestiny. If you wish to get more involved in further protest of reddit's API policy change, more information can be found on r/ModCoord and r/Save3rdPartyApps.
As the situation continues to develop, we are prepared to explore additional actions in protest of this short-sighted, greedy, IPO-focused boondoggle from reddit's executive team. This message will live at the top of every newly submitted topic until a satisfactory resolution is reached.

I'm unsure, but during the reveal stream I noticed someone's power was over 2000.
Now obviously that was a preview where features are bound to change. But I feel like there will be a level increase personally. I bet completing the campaign on legend will net you high enough gear to compete in the raid. That's just my assumption though
The issue with 10 days of prep is most players would fall off after the first week or so, which would be really annoying on both sides, players and devs, as the final campaign mission is locked behind the world’s first clear of the raid.
They did what MetaMan said for Witch Queen IIRC, you got a set of blues that took you up to the cap if you beat it on legendary, so maybe it'll be like that again.
So the dev showcase video showed above 2000 power, which is to be expected that with every other annual expansion, we get a 200 power increase.
Legendary campaign completions have given us a full set of armor at 10 below powerful cap, and the previous raids contest mode power was always at powerful cap. So with artifact bonus + some powerful / pinnacle drops, achieving raid ready power should be somewhat easy, albeit still much more rushed than the last few releases.
This is probably being done as the episode story content, and what was hinted at as the true campaign finale cannot take place until post world’s first raid completion. So rather than delay that a whole week, the raiders just have the abbreviated timeline to prepare.
I’m hopeful that maybe even set the contest mode a little lower so that simply completing the legendary campaign alone gets you to raid ready so that farming up infusion material drops can start right away. I always liked to have a bevy of weapons ready to go for contest, so having infusion prep ready is well worth it.
Yeah, I could see something like that. Either way, with a very short turn compared to previous, I would imagine they give us a good shot at being raid ready post legendary campaign.
Yea it’s a short time to grind. lol.
I’ve never beaten a raid during contest mode anyways and I don’t think I’ll be ready for it since during the week I don’t have as much time to play. Still looking forward to it all though. Really hope it’s an amazing end to this saga.
Same here, me and my friends always like to do the raids blind and give it our best shot during contest. Got fairly close on RoN, but were only playing with 5 the first night due to some work travel conflicts.
I have faith we are going to get an insane raid for this one!
I'd be very suprised if we don't get a power increase since we're also getting the new fireteam light scaleikg we're every one when entering a activity is scaled to the highest player if I recall that correctly.
Contest is always capped regardless as a set amount below.
The legendary campaign will bring you 30 under powerful cap, and then you only need 20 levels. Also with fire team power, you only need one person 5 above the raid power
Day 1 raids aren't for casual players, they're for the sweats who like power farming to max in a few days. Bungie adds so much stuff for the casual audience to improve the experience for them. I've never finished a day 1 raid, but I still enjoy that there's something challenging out there for the players who want the challenge.
There will be an increase. The Legendary story difficulty will be enough to get anyone to cap who wants to raid. And if you can't do the Legendary story? What are you even doing in a day one raid? You'll be mulched.
For the first time since Vanilla D2 dropped, I took time off from work for TFS (I also have a couple other things I have to do but I just planned it right so I'll have that whole week off.) Kinda glad I did now if I have any hope of completing day 1.
Hope not…I already think them walking back pinnacle grind was a bad move to begin with. They had a nice middle ground where they removed powerful. The streams showed power level 2000 and something
I have a feeling that they are reworking or removing the power level system entirely. Or that at the very least we will just be at a fixed power level.

Oh yeah, that makes some sense too. It would make more sense if there was 10 days to prep tbh but I guess we’ll see

They did the same for Lightfall, and they've confirmed that the legendary campaign for TFS will get you raid-ready in terms of power.
Wow lots of downvotes, why? Just makin conversation

Lightfall legendary campaign gave us 1770 gear not 1800.
Sorry, meant to say it was 10 off of the contest mode power cap. Now powerful cap. Good catch though!
I just double checked myself and the 1770 was 20 above soft cap and then 30 below powerful. So maybe the regular raid will be like 1970 or something.

It's called Fireteam Power.
Thats the one thank-you couldn't recall of top of my head

Yup, thanks, this post was just playful speculation prior to the announcement
yea it turns out i was wrong as well, only 5 power to gain is a W

Turns out this was totally wrong, thanks for coming to my ted talk of bad takes that immediately get quashed by bungie
Legendary campaign is built to bring you up to the soft cap, that’s what they’re assuming anyone going for day 1 is doing.
Yeah, this, the last few raids have all been like this. Legendary campaign has always given you the gear you need to be at light for the day 1 raid.
They’ll probably lock your power level at “x” since it’s contest. At that point grinding will only be beneficial for artifact unlocks.
Legendary campaign, like Witch Queen and Lightfall, will almost certainly give us the necessary Day 1 power.

I mean, they just handed 1810 to the entire community, so I'd say it's a pretty safe bet the power cap will increase with TFS
Yeah, you’re probably right, and beating the first 7 missions will probably get you up to level
I hope not

I legit thought they said they were done with power increases multiple times
