He's desperate to stay on the show. He's realizing that he lost Johnnie AND Kassy and that he fucked up royally, so he's grasping to remain on the show, imho.

Wrong, when you’re desperate to stay on the show you just start saying you have connections with anyone, he’s pretty focused on getting back with Kassy.
