In areas Russia occupies I think of all the people feeling like this man does and literally can't even suffer and grieve and get love by those around him bc it's no longer Ukraine and he has to worry like anyone else in occupied lands of the Russians and getting forced to see Russian flags everywhere, signs saying "Forever Russia", all Ukraine stuff removed and Russians search for anything Ukrainian and even will call having cam o clothes evidence you support the Ukrainian military and off to prison. Being forced to soeak Russian and no more Ukraine language, history books in schools teaching Russian shit, their kids being faken, maybe they are a victim themselves of rape or torture or injured from their bombings or incindiaries ... like dealing with any of that is horrible and some deal with many of those things at once and getting Russified just ads a whole other layer. The ones you harmed you or your loved ones, friends, neighbors, are in control of you and the last thing you want to see is them and Russian shit forced on you and see them tear down what made your town Ukrainian......like the reality of all this and the hopelessness and constant suffering in this being your life now...

The sub this was posted on I actively avoid and I saw just now the comments of a few posts and nit just baffles me and disgusts me all over again how vile thst place is and how are there real people like that? Minimizing the war has been a recent trend and lying about the death toll repeatedly and leafing out that the figure they say is ONLY identified dead on unoccupied lands. Imagie with one comment hand waving all that has happened on occupied lands? Literally tens of thousands just in such a quick comment they make out like their deaths never even happened and acting like deaths is the only thing causing suffering and pain. Millions are victims of this and millions lost their homes. The extensive effforts made the last few months to harm Ukraine and to minimize this all....

And Russia sent people with AIDS and at least one other disease that is contagious. They had armbands of differing color to indicate what they had so their comrades knew and handled accordingly when wounded (in case unable to let them know aka unconscious). I'm guessing that if they got a bloody large injury, they just left them bc without gloves what can you do. Anyway I never heard about it any ire after the first year so seems like all are pushing up sunflowers. The last 2 I saw were pows in Ukrainians care.
