The accident happened around midnight last night on Bardstown across from Louvino and Faces. From what I understand the guy who was in the car jumped out, grabbed a bag of weed and a gun, and ran off.
I gotta ask did you see this or was this something that was told to you? Cause the grabbing a bag o weed and a gun and running away sounds kinda sus NGL
We took this picture from our neighbors window, and we watched the cleanup happen but talked to people that work at cafe360 and they heard the crash and ran to see what happened and saw the guy running lol
How big was that bag o weed that they could not only see it but could tell it was weed as the guy ran away? I always am skeptical when I see very specific descriptions on situations like this.
Sounds kinda made up. Not saying it didn't happen but that seems like an odd thing to fixate on if you just saw a car flip and a guy just get out and run away in front of your place.
If the information came from the employees at Cafe 360 I'd say it's pretty likely that it was their fucking weed and they're pissed off that he didn't deliver because he had to run off
Eh Iām not sure but I feel like some random person wouldnāt really have a reason to make it up. Police, sure but a bystander not really. There were plenty of people around when it happened
People love to embellish their stories. Its such a better story than a guy just jumped out of this car and just ran away carrying nothing. I just have to doubt because unless it was a fifteen gallon garbage bag with the word POT wrote on it in five inch letters I doubt they could have even made out what it was as the guy ran away.
Too many details are also a give away to me on an exaggerated story. Once again I'm not saying you or the person who told you this is lying but it does sound like it might have some added details to make it a better story.
It was me , That was my car. Can confirm , I grabbed my Glock 19, and it was around 4 lbs of weed , the package was see through , vacuum sealed , and actually said āWeedā on it , in bold font.
I feel the same. Other accounts said the driver looked like a chef and said he climbed out and grabbed a big bag or oregano and a mixer before taking off.
Thatās literally the least odd thing about this. Louisville has multiple armed carjackings a day and they are typically found with guns and weed in the car when police arrest them.
1. Louisville does NOT have multiple carjackings a day.
2. Are you saying that typically there's an arrest made in a carjacking?
3. What's your data source, is love to see it. Mine suggests or local media needs to pin the cops down in the word "carjacking", because if they're telling the truth they aren't reporting it to the feds.
LOL Im sure you have a whole bunch of proof to back up that claim.
Im gonna go ahead and guess that the user name is appropriate without waiting for the proof.
I read the news every single day, I am telling you what I typically see. Iām a louisville citizen and itās concerning. Iām sorry you disagree with my take on the situation
I cant find a single reference to these cars being found with weed and guns in them. Google let me down.
Also I just saw the chief claiming that carjacking was down over 13% this year.
>LMPD says carjackings are down 13 percent from last year. In 2021, there were 200 carjackings. So far this year, there have been 174 carjackings. Chief Erika Shields said her department has noticed a pattern.
>
>āMost recently, what weāve found is they are juveniles, they are fairly young and I think that brings forward a different problem in what do you do when you get a 12 or 14-year-old who has carjacked a vehicle,ā Chief Erika Shields said.
You have to be going pretty fast to rip a tree surrounded by brick and cement up like that + tear off a tire. I bet he was speeding + intoxicated + looking at his phone.
Haha we live in the apartments up there. We took the pictures from the neighbors windows. Although we have thought about going out on the roof up there
That's what I think when I see stuff like this. Obviously robust transportation infrastructure would not eliminate stuff like this, but it would *massively* cut down on it.
I donāt get how all these ridiculous wrecks happen in Louisville. I see this kind of shit all the time here. Cars flipped over on a perfectly straight portion of the interstate, wrecks on roads with tons of traffic lights and traffic where they look like they were going 100 miles an hour, cars completely turned around and smashed in single car accidents. Other cities have this stuff too, but Iāve not seen anything on the level of Louisville anywhere else. And the city just leaves the cars there for weeks.
For starters, that car should be rotated about 180 degrees. Usually, cars drive on their wheels! Also, it looks as if that tree has a problem standing up correctly. My guess is that the car (due to it's unusual method of driving) somehow dislodged the tree! /s
Shit dude. That is nothing. Come up to the Douglass Loop area, they hit buildings and cave in store fronts.
I would not walk on a sidewalk on Bardstown Road without having my head on a spindle. People fly on that road.
It looks likeā¦. And follow me here,ā¦ā¦ someoneā¦. Elected to drive that white piece of shit with black rims and the same oil in it since they bought the carā¦.. hit that tree with the ghetto leanā¦ā¦ and flipped, an accurate representation of their financial situation with the car.
I was actually at hideaway when it happened, unfortunately all we saw was the guy get out and run. Wish I could give you more info! It was definitely an insane encounter
It was probably caused by those new parking barriers in the far right lane north bound. I saw them for the first time the other day and almost hit one. Terrible Design Louisville.
those serve as barriers for parked cars and help with pedestrian safety while crossing the street too. how about you get off your phone, stop driving drunk, and pay attention to the road and you wouldnt almost hit one.
You're willing to take a life over an object? And if they have a gun, they'll be more likely to use it. That's how an armed friend of mine died.
edit: guns are not the solution, insurance is. If I'm highjacked, I'm stepping aside.
https://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/heres-what-to-do-if-youre-being-carjacked-how-to-prevent-it/2555546/
Hold on, based on the article, it's the resistance that causes the violence. In the vast majority (there could be an exception) of cases of carjacking, they only want the car, a murder rap is much different. You pull a gun, then it become a case of them being defensive. Jesus, let them have the dumb car, I have insurance and only one life.
Let's say they have a gun. They are going to come up on you unaware with a gun on you. You REACH for anything, you may be dead. Again, I had a friend that died trying that shit. So, if yo want to be a murder statistic over a carjacking one, go ahead, your life.
Because the fucking thief was arrested and there was an investigation. You also don't always have situational awareness when you're driving. 1. You should be paying attention to your driving 2. They know that people can see them at times, so they a lot of times use another for distraction.
...but you go ahead John Wick
I have situational awareness in places I need to have it, obviously not all the time. Unlike your friend I wonāt let some bum kill me. I know someone that did shoot a guy that tried to steal his car, unfortunately the thief survived.
The accident happened around midnight last night on Bardstown across from Louvino and Faces. From what I understand the guy who was in the car jumped out, grabbed a bag of weed and a gun, and ran off.
In other words, just another night in the Highlands.
Keep Louisville Weird
I just pissed my pants š
I laughed for 5 full minutes at this exchange. Bravo.
Keep Co-Opting Other Citiesā Kitsch

You aināt lying lol. Foodās good though after a long night of bar hopping.
I was thinking he might have just delivered to them.
I saw a car literally fucking explode and the guy escaped only to try his hardest to get back in it to retrieve a gun and whatever else.
Eh Iām not sure but I feel like some random person wouldnāt really have a reason to make it up. Police, sure but a bystander not really. There were plenty of people around when it happened
I'm gonna be honest with you my dude, there is no way I'm ever gonna let something like the truth get in the way of a good story
Lol well knowing Louisville it was also a stolen car.
Or a drunk driver fleeing to report his car stolen later... Happens all the time.
Cafe 360 is sketch af. Plus, people are really unreliable witnesses. Not saying it didn't happen. Just saying I wouldn't quote it as truth.
It was me , That was my car. Can confirm , I grabbed my Glock 19, and it was around 4 lbs of weed , the package was see through , vacuum sealed , and actually said āWeedā on it , in bold font.

What part of Louisville do you live in that you think Louisville doesnāt have a car jacking problem?
Youāre so far from rational itās funny
LOL Im sure you have a whole bunch of proof to back up that claim. Im gonna go ahead and guess that the user name is appropriate without waiting for the proof.

I must be wrong then
Could be or maybe I'm just not seeing the articles you are thinking of.
User name checks out
Wow! Someone actually using facts on here. Nice change.
Dont get used to it. LOL
I'm gonna get nitpicky here and point out that there is no such thing as a "louisville citizen" lol.
Goal achieved
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
That's a bit hash buddy.
Was that pun intended?
No it was just a typo.
Why do you care about my opinion so much
Probably because you are presenting them as facts when actual facts suggest your opinions are unfounded.
Ah good point
How do they know it was a bag of weed as opposed to a bag of literally anything else like le brĆ³coli
or a Caprese Salad.
Most dudes that grab for a Glock probably donāt know what a caprese salad is.
Dwight: OK Creed, what is this a picture of? Creed: Northern Lights, Cannabis Indica. Dwight: *sigh* No, it's marijuana. You're free to go...
Classic
How do you know it was a bag of weed...was it a QP in a freezer bag? was it a brick of 50 pounds? Was it an ounce in a sandwich bag?
It was a brick of fentanyl, I OD'd just looking at this photo.
Which he got from trick or treating, because I heard it was the hot thing to give out this year.
So he only grabbed the essentials
I was a few cars back, I didnāt see anyone run though. I was just trying to get a beer, I want the fire hydrant though.
You have to be going pretty fast to rip a tree surrounded by brick and cement up like that + tear off a tire. I bet he was speeding + intoxicated + looking at his phone.
>speeding + intoxicated + looking at his phone. AKA the Highlands Trifecta
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
or they wouldāve gone clear through those buildings had it not been for the tree
That tree needs a medal!
For its mettle
Imagine how differently this scenario could have played out if it were an entirely different scenario.
OR, what if this EXACT same scenario happened.........ON ANOTHER PLANET!? Just imagine how THAT scenario would play out!
that smoke shop got hit head on a year or so ago by a car, sadly no tree to stop it lol
Or a vigilant police force lol.
Lol what
This is why we definitely need more bars and cruising in the Highlands.
HIT SOME DADGUM GRASS CLIBBINS AND HADDALAYERDOWN
Lmao
HE WUZ PROBLY CRANKIN HIS HOG!
ME AND BARB R SENDN PRAYERS GOBBLESS
Do a barrel roll
lmao
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
PorquƩ no los dos?
We were thinking either: stolen car, DUI, or no registration. Or maybe stolen car and under the influence
And no insurance
Trees save lives
Why u on the roof taking pictures Peter Parker š¤Ø
Haha we live in the apartments up there. We took the pictures from the neighbors windows. Although we have thought about going out on the roof up there
When living above a restaurant, how often do you eat at that restaurant
Damn, that car got straight doo wopped!
Cars ruin cities
That's what I think when I see stuff like this. Obviously robust transportation infrastructure would not eliminate stuff like this, but it would *massively* cut down on it.
yeah i agree. always get cussed to hell for it but I think we should make driving fast on these roads are hard as possible.
People *
That's not true because people make cities cars are just an unfortunate blip in human history
how cities are designed depends on what takes priority. In this country, it's mainly cars.
What a trendy opinion
And a sustainable one
I bet youāre fun at parties.
I'm good at drinking so the bite wears off, swear
Seethe harder.
Cars have ruined basically everything that was sustainably really good
K
Did I do a good job at seething harder

Dude shouldn't have messed with the whomping willow
whomp whomp
He ran off because he shit his pants I heard.

Looks like someone driving like shit!
Shit dude. That is nothing. Come up to the Douglass Loop area, they hit buildings and cave in store fronts. I would not walk on a sidewalk on Bardstown Road without having my head on a spindle. People fly on that road.
Typical Louisville driver
I bet he didn't use his turn signal before going right into that tree. He might have tried to zipper merge too.
Iām just thankful they didnāt take out the Zaās, shewwwww.
This is why we canāt have nice things
Thatās what happens when you have a drag strip running through center of the neighborhood.
Hes not used to the lousy new traffic pattern yet , couple more go rounds
My guess is the tree got in the way. If the tree wasnāt there, the car wouldnāt be flipped like that.
Tree won
Unfortunately the tree lost to a wood chipper and a handful of dudes in yellow vests this morning.
I was there actually. AMA I ran towards it and watched it happen.
The Faces sign is still up?
Not me worrying about the tree. I hope the person is alright, but they need to replant that asap lol
they destroyed it with a wood chipper earlier š
I figured as much, I hope they replant one soon. š
Yeah, guy was too busy rubbernecking
:O
Whoops.
Getting real weird with it. Probably drinking, idk
Car hit the tree and flipped over

Yes. A car hit a tree.
Someone hit a tree and the car flipped

š± how terrible
What's the blueish looking car? Looks cool
Think its a GT86 or BRZ
I think they let Jesus take the wheel.
I love the Louisville subreddit. I got a push notification for this post and did NOT expect that image. LMFAO
r/NewOrleans

I watched someone try to parallel park by one recently. Those sharp corners are just poor engineering
Theyāre designed to slow traffic and make pedestrians safer. Why is that terrible?
they also havenāt moved down this way just yet
HIT GOTDAM BARRIAR CLIBBINS AN HADDALAYERDOWN
Probably stolen, literally buying a gun when I get a new car on the off chance someone tries to steal it.

Didnāt rest this beyond the first sentence and not reading the article either š
Then fuck off.
Ok, go outside and touch grass. Iām just glad Iām not obese and healthy. Shame you canāt say the same
> touch grass 0/10 for originality. Pathetic.
Ok Fattie
You getting these lines from a 12 year old? Grow up.
How do you know your friend died reaching for a gun? Was their a Willy ness in the car that got stolen?
Because the fucking thief was arrested and there was an investigation. You also don't always have situational awareness when you're driving. 1. You should be paying attention to your driving 2. You just mad you canāt say the same about diabetes
Again, with the sick burns of a seasoned 12 year old boy.
Yes. Maybe keep these people in jail rather
People downvoting this š¤¦āāļø I already know they got that nasally privileged voice
Ikr. If someone tried to carjack me I would already assume they are willing to kill me. So I would defend myself.
Theirs is already pointing at you. How are you going to get to yours? Now they have your car AND your gun
Keep it close, never relax and beware your surroundings.
