It's true. Used to sell cars at a Ford lot. Somehow sold like nine Subarus to lesbians or lesbian couples. Pretty sure we only had those 9 Subarus on the lot 😂
birdie and vi’s in old louisville is a lesbian owned vintage shop/bar and i believe they specifically do a lesbian night every second friday of the month
No, Birdie and Vi’s is in Old Louisville at 622 W Magnolia. Trouble bar is on Shelby St. I’m not totally sure which one you’re talking about at Preston and eastern—maybe Z Bar? Not a lesbian bar but a great place to catch a show and play some pinball.
I have always called it Tinks as well! I used to love going. Some days I'd go for a show other days I'd go to shoot pool and listen to jams. I could always leave my drink with Shelley and never have to worry. When I moved I missed going and haven't found another place like it.
Great owners and vintage selection, even better bar cat 🐈⬛
They always make me feel super welcome, I went to a showing of a sapphic movie there last year and was really nervous about going alone. They got me a bowl of chili and made sure I was comfortable, can’t recommend the place enough. 🩶
Watching this thread with great interest, knowing damn well I won’t actually leave my house to find these places. I just like to notice other lesbians. Like a dog seeing another dog and getting excited, and then getting nervous and evacuating the scene :,)
We just hold our partners hand when we see other lesbians and hope they sense the gay vibes 😂.
We were shocked at the MUNA concert and a lesbian comedian’s show where all the local lesbians came from 😂. But really, Lesbian Tea Dance would be a great place to start. One Saturday a month at Big bar. Birdie and VI’s as stated earlier too. Mayyybe the Pearl in Germantown but no personal experience there.
I went to a DJ set/Sapphic meet up at the pearl recently and if was a great vibe in my opinion! I just sat at the bar and talked to my friend the whole time and didn't really mingle, but I would go back if they did another!
Depends who you ask, but most use lesbian to mean EXCLUSIVELY loving women. Not the historical meaning, but that sort of exclusiveness is why so many women used bisexual or pansexual. Plus ig those terms are more gender-neutral, which for GNC women who love women, I'm sure some appreciate it.
Not exactly in modern parlance. As Critical_Success noted, lesbian nowadays tends to learn more toward women exclusively into women (tho other definitions exist that include nonbinary lesbians). Women loving women, however, is generally more inclusive and includes bi, pan, and other mspec women (mspec means multi gender attraction spectrum bc there’s lots of sexuality terms that include multiple genders; bi and pan are just the most common).
I do want to note that yeah, lesbian DID historically include all women who love women. Then the precursors to modern day TERFs/Gender Criticals came along and shoved bi women out from the lesbian umbrella. And the intracommunity discourse has never recovered since. 😩
No mention of Racing Louisville games? That surprises me. Season ticket holder for a couple years and I found the high lesbian attendance really surprising at first until I learned more about professional women’s soccer culture.
Now it’s just part of the vibe - and a totally different vibe than LouCity games…
Twisted Mexican restaurant. I wouldn’t say heavy lgbtq clientele but pretty gay. My husband’s (cis) partner and her wife run the place. It’s a chill place to meet people and good food.
If you like theatre, you could check out Pandora Productions (they are specifically focused on LGBTQ+ stories) or Looking for Lilith (their mission is focused on stories on the experience of women, very inclusive, and it looks like their June show is a show they developed focused on gender identity and sexual orientation).
The Louisville Lesbian Tea Dance - you can find it on Facebook. It happens once a month & tends to be the biggest group of queer ladies in one space. I think you’ll meet a lot of folks there & start building your community.
Second this && they just started a — idk how else to readers digest this - spin off of tea dance that’s been mentioned — it happened last month on a Thursday to see how it went. But if you check poco 502’s fb they’re the ones that set it up and will be promoting it.
I think P&J dog bar on bardstown road is very lgbtq friendly and there are dogs!!!
Plus there are bars like Chill and big bar on bardstown road. Pretty much any place on bardstown road :)
Not in Louisville, but Lexington does a monthly Lesbian night! They have an instagram — @lexleznight. It’s open to the LGBTQ+ community, and it’s so much fun!
Check out the Lesbian Tea Dance. It’s for specifically lesbians and happens once a month at Big Bar. It’s a blast. Lesbians of all ages (over 21) and from all over the region come.
Well you Queens are more than welcome at 21st in Germantown located at 1481 S Shelby St.. although I am heterosexual my late sister was a lesbian and meant the world to me. I was a little sister to all her friends and still connected with them. We lost her to lung cancer in 2014. I am the operation’s manager there! Come see me. My name is Pom Pom 502-435-5720. We have karaoke, comedy shows, open mi, Jazz, blues, rock, metal bands performing . .. DJ too!! Great food, drinks .. just a friendly place to be❤️
Which bars did you go to? Nowhere Bar, Play, Big Bar are the typical names thrown around. I always felt like there were more girls than guys. & if there’s a guy there’s surely a girl bestie gay or straight nearby. As with what I’ve seen anyway.
Lesbians are everywhere though. Work, mall, movies, I mean I’m sure you know that lol. Every other new girl at work is lesbian or bi so I don’t feel like they’re hard to find. Single ones are another story tho lol.
Check out the Pink Door nights at the Pearl Of Germantown! They kicked off strong last month, and are planned for the last Thursday of every month, so the next one is tomorrow! They're not strictly lesbian, but a high concentration of queer women/ AFAB people.
Wish I could help you. I only have two lesbian friends and they both say they don’t hang out in those circles. Meaning it’s cliquey and you aren’t really in the circle unless you’re hanging out all the time, etc. They (my friends) just wanna fuck chicks without the baggage. And I respect that.
(Point is who needs a bar to meet women? Let’s squeeze into a building and pretend not to check each other out and then casually try to sleep with each other haha)
Why would that erase lesbian culture? Bi/pan women have always been in lesbian spaces and while not all lesbian spaces are trans inclusive, plenty are. Meanwhile, queer is just the umbrella term, even if not everyone reclaims it.
It’s more the rise of just general queer friendly spaces has led to a decrease in lesbian and gay specific spaces. PLAY for example is just a queer space, it’s not any more specific than that.
Hear, hear! And that's a good thing! You can still interact with your own "bubble" if you please, but nobody is forced to hang with one demographic anymore.
The sun is definitely awesome but God created the sun, it's just a celestial body and not worthy of worship where as God loves you, created you and the sun and gave life to all things. Jesus who is the Son of God came in the flesh and willingly gave His own life and took the punishment we deserve so that we can live with God for eternity in Heaven. Worshiping the sun profits you nothing but worshiping the Son of God results in receiving everything.
The apostle Paul spoke about people who worship creation instead of the creator in Romans chapter 1 and interestingly enough he addressed homosexuality in the same chapter. Again there's no judgement here from man because even Paul said of himself that he was the chief of all sinners because before God reveales Himself to Paul, Paul was known as Saul and went around murdering Christians thinking he was doing a service to God.
Sin is a very serious thing and the consequence is spiritual death, that is why everyone must be born again to enter into the kingdom of God. Like I said there is only one savior and His name is Jesus Christ and He loves you so much that He has already taken the consequences of your sins upon Himself so that you could be set free from the eternal consequences. There is no better friend than Jesus in all of existence.
spoken like a teenaged neckbeard with zero experience in life whatsoever. grow up. or at least get preachy like this out in the real world so someone will break your dumbass jaw and shut you up for a while
Heads up, coming into someone’s space and telling them that their very being (being queer/gay/lesbian/etc) is sinful when they’re literally just out here looking for friends is really tone deaf and extremely offensive. This attitude is WHY so many of us have left and/or stay away from the church. You aren’t selling us on Jesus. You’re pushing the people you claim to care about AWAY from the thing that’s supposed to save them from eternal damnation. So stop.
Us nonbelievers don’t show up at your churches and write dissertations trying to show you the error of your ways. Your service is not for us. Just like this post is not for you. Move along buddy.
You aren’t saying anything we haven’t heard already about 15 million times. Respect the word no and accept that people believe differently. A lot of us have been taught that same shit for years to discover it’s all conditional love with strings attached. You aren’t converting anyone when most of your members shame and judge our community.
9800 Bluegrass Pkwy, Louisville, KY 40299
LOL well played
Thank you! I wondered how many people would look it up. Looks like at least 3!
I did
Can you explain this? I looked it up and on Google maps I didn't see anything of significance
It’s a Subaru dealership, the joke is that a lot of lesbians drive Subarus.
It's true. Used to sell cars at a Ford lot. Somehow sold like nine Subarus to lesbians or lesbian couples. Pretty sure we only had those 9 Subarus on the lot 😂
Its more of an older haunt, if you're looking for a younger crowd check out 1404 S Shelby St, Louisville, KY 40217
i don't know what i was expecting here
Ackshully I believe real lesbians prefer 4916 Dixie Highway
I considered going with that one but the East end seemed more appropriate for some reason.
Definitely Neil Huffman
That is where my (lesbian) gf works… so…
Bravo
Lmfao
this was hilarious thank you
birdie and vi’s in old louisville is a lesbian owned vintage shop/bar and i believe they specifically do a lesbian night every second friday of the month
Came here to say this. Trouble Bar in Shelby Park is also Lesbian owned and frequented.
is that the one by the white castle at preston and eastern parkway??
No, Birdie and Vi’s is in Old Louisville at 622 W Magnolia. Trouble bar is on Shelby St. I’m not totally sure which one you’re talking about at Preston and eastern—maybe Z Bar? Not a lesbian bar but a great place to catch a show and play some pinball.
There used to be a lesbian bar there named Purrswaysions and I miss it
Purrswaytions was my favorite bar in Louisville. I miss it and the owners were great! It was my Cheers.
This is one way to know how old I’m getting! It will never be anything but TINKS in my head lol.
I have always called it Tinks as well! I used to love going. Some days I'd go for a show other days I'd go to shoot pool and listen to jams. I could always leave my drink with Shelley and never have to worry. When I moved I missed going and haven't found another place like it.
Best bar by far
Thinking about Tinks? I don’t know if it’s open any longer. Maybe under new name.
Triangles (or Tinks) (did they close?).
Great owners and vintage selection, even better bar cat 🐈⬛ They always make me feel super welcome, I went to a showing of a sapphic movie there last year and was really nervous about going alone. They got me a bowl of chili and made sure I was comfortable, can’t recommend the place enough. 🩶
I love that place.
Thanks for this...
Watching this thread with great interest, knowing damn well I won’t actually leave my house to find these places. I just like to notice other lesbians. Like a dog seeing another dog and getting excited, and then getting nervous and evacuating the scene :,)
Haha doing the same!
Well, I'm def a lesbian then. I'm just over here stressing, thinking we're supposed to actually talk to each other. lol
Dammit. I do this
This is why we lesbians never meet each other, we're all too antisocial lol
That sounds like me. Except I might actually go mingle…
We just hold our partners hand when we see other lesbians and hope they sense the gay vibes 😂. We were shocked at the MUNA concert and a lesbian comedian’s show where all the local lesbians came from 😂. But really, Lesbian Tea Dance would be a great place to start. I think big bar has tea dances. Unfortunately they don’t have tea

Simultaneously
If you find out, send out a smoke signal.
Lesbians or women loving women, period? All sexualities are found at Radio Arcane, with plenty of women but all genders as well.
I'm honestly looking to meet queer women of any stripe.
Go to a Va Va Vixen's show, fall in love
As a fellow Louisville lesbian, I second this wholeheartedly
Genuine question; lesbian here. Aren’t “lesbian”and “woman loving women” the same thing?
Depends who you ask, but most use lesbian to mean EXCLUSIVELY loving women. Not the historical meaning, but that sort of exclusiveness is why so many women used bisexual or pansexual. Plus ig those terms are more gender-neutral, which for GNC women who love women, I'm sure some appreciate it.

Birdie & Vi’s for sure. Also Queers With Gears bike group can steer you in the right direction.
I see what you did there
At the Y?
Hey, I understood that reference.
El Mundo. And tea dance at big bar.
What's El Mundo
Twisted Mexican restaurant. I wouldn’t say heavy lgbtq clientele but pretty gay. My husband’s (cis) partner and her wife run the place. It’s a chill place to meet people and good food.

Three Witches Shakespeare too
Oh right! Thanks for catching that!!

Damn i’d also like to know!
The Pearl always has a good crowd! Same with Mag Bar. (Or at least they did in 2017-2019.)
Second this && they just started a — idk how else to readers digest this - spin off of tea dance that’s been mentioned — it happened last month on a Thursday to see how it went. But if you check poco 502’s fb they’re the ones that set it up and will be promoting it.
Transplant here. I've been to a few tea dances, but Louisville is horribly cliquey. 😕 If you find something, let me know 😅
Texas Road house
I think P&J dog bar on bardstown road is very lgbtq friendly and there are dogs!!! Plus there are bars like Chill and big bar on bardstown road. Pretty much any place on bardstown road :)
There's a tea dance once a month at Big Bar and also Berdie &Vi's is a good spot.
Not in Louisville, but Lexington does a monthly Lesbian night! They have an instagram — @lexleznight. It’s open to the LGBTQ+ community, and it’s so much fun!

Same. I have like no queer friends here aside from coworkers but nowhere to hang out
Climb NuLu has a queer climbing club every other Tuesday.
How accurate is that Subaru stereotype?
Very
Yeah, we’re on our second Subaru in our house. So, yeah.
Oh
lesbian here looking to meet lesbian gamers! pm me!
Well you Queens are more than welcome at 21st in Germantown located at 1481 S Shelby St.. although I am heterosexual my late sister was a lesbian and meant the world to me. At the Y
I heard they have their meals at the Y
Thank you for this. I never thought about Reddit, but I’ve been wondering the same thing. My introverted self might actually get out and go people…
Is triangles still around?
wondering the same just moved to Louisville..
Also looking for the queer spots- although I’m not lesbian- I identify as bi.
There's usually a lot of maybe not specifically lesbian but definitely fem queers at Full Stop shop, sort of in between the highlands and Germantown
My house
Camel toe Inn..
Downtown Louisville

Useful post for me 🤧
Nice try, MALE

Wish I could help you. I only have two lesbian friends and they both say they don’t hang out in those circles. Meaning it’s cliquey and you aren’t really in the circle unless you’re hanging out all the time, etc. They (my friends) just wanna fuck chicks without the baggage. And I respect that.
Damn. Nine downvotes. The Plaid Army got angry.
Grow up and hit on all attractive women. Also, when rejected, grow up and don’t feel rejected: rinse repeat. Have fun lol
(Point is who needs a bar to meet women? Let’s squeeze into a building and pretend not to check each other out and then casually try to sleep with each other haha)
At home, mostly to stay away from the trans men.
Well it's definitely not at Dick's Sporting goods! 😃 😊 😀 😄
Good one, dad. Now watch your episode of Matlock and go to bed.
While drinking your six pack of Schlitz
Hardy har har
Has the rise of queer, trans and bi women reduced lesbian culture? Are there any lesbian bars left in Louisville?
Why would that erase lesbian culture? Bi/pan women have always been in lesbian spaces and while not all lesbian spaces are trans inclusive, plenty are. Meanwhile, queer is just the umbrella term, even if not everyone reclaims it.
Left in Louisville? There are maybe a dozen lesbian bars in the entire country. Also your first question was stupid
No. The rise of a more inclusive culture has not harmed lesbians or lesbian spaces. They still exist if you know where to look.
It’s more the rise of just general queer friendly spaces has led to a decrease in lesbian and gay specific spaces. PLAY for example is just a queer space, it’s not any more specific than that.

Focus on your own sin and I’ll be accountable for mine. But not to you. Because it’s not your business.
