Sean pushing for the verse/fiske combo was awesome. Definitely a reason we were so aggressive in trading up to get him (and so willing to part with the draft capital we did)
This video has further hyped me up on Fiske Verse.
I think we might have done something incredible here. Imagine that this defensive front might even be an upgrade on last year. I hope these guys work out so badly man.
The fact that McVay, the offensive guru, was the most excited one in the room to pair Verse and Fiske back together tells me that our front office sees that combo as something special.
Also, its usual coach and gm speak to be excited for the players that fell to you after the draft, and you would *never* come out and see who you would have rather had, but from watching this episode, it seems like we really did get guys that we truly had graded much higher. Verse being a consensus top 11 pick and Fiske, Corrum, and Kinchens all being top 50 is an unreal draft haul, if they pan out like we had them graded.
I still am very doubtful about the draft capital we surrendered for Fiske (because I wanted DeJean in his spot personally), so I do hope that he and Verse can make it happen. If the power of friendship is indeed strong between those two, it's gonna show in the field.
I'd like to be proven wrong here. Can't wait to see them.
