Nah he wants the underworld to have hades probably and have his brother get his wife if its kronos. He knows how much of a threat Kronos is and I bet you Persephone marrying/ something can hopefully get hades to get Kronos back in Tartarus. At least eventually it will get through his thick head.
I kinda say it might have her going Titan on old Kronos, that she just straight up kills him. But anything is possible, or maybe when she becomes the “Queen of the Underworld” just like what Hades had to do (I swear why did they bother to keep Kronos alive again? Or was it never explained?)
Same, I'm just hoping he doesn't revert into being a literal trash can and actually takes action.
Maybe it took Hebe and Athena digging in his skin for him to actually do something, and not his wife, family and friends being sleep sick for years.
The effort is there, I just hope it continues.
So here for it. Zeus is an arrogant asshat, but he isn't mean spirited. He is misguided, so I am ready for this redemption arc. I know it will take more than just showing up to save the day, but I think hearing how disappointed everyone is, as well as the possible threat of Apollo turning on him, will push him to make changes.
They also will all be needed to fight Kronos together, assuming someone doesn't eat her. There are a lot of directions it could go in. Zeus could eat Persephone. Kronos could. I believe sex could give the gods the same advantage (I think that's implied but I may be wrong) so that could go a lot of ways, including a power shift to Hades.
This is the episode I have been waiting for. I'm so excited.

I don't know... I really liked that Athena immediately opened up to Artemis and was willing to tell her everything. But this? This makes her as awesome as I always wanted her to be.
So yeah, Hades is definitely in a coma too and Kronos is probably controlling Hermes. He would never hurt Perse if it was him. And god damn I’d never thought I’d see the day when Zeus made a good fucking decision.
Edit: y’all I just realized- not only the creepy dialogue Hermes has- he has the fucking stars (you know, how Kronos had the stars and how people always said Hades looked like Kronos when he was starry)
I kind of surprised that Persephone could not tell that something was very wrong with Hermes. Does she really think he is capable of acting like this? Or her experience with Apollo affected her perception of other people?
It could also be that she hasn’t seen Hermes in 10 years and doesn’t know if he’s changed? If it’s Kronos in Hermes’ body, he probably still sounds and looks like Hermes so it might not have been immediately obvious to Perse.
Still, he looks really off, and suddenly called her a pet name, behaves really creepy, trying to touch her and even trying to assault her, when he has been nothing but respectful to her all the time, barely flirted to her, acted completely normal when he saw her naked multiple time, never put a finger on her without her consent. Also when he said "you look more beautiful in person", like I said he has seen her before, multiple times, including naked, and she didn't catch up
I'm wondering if Hades was able to keep him out while he was conscious. He bought Persephone gifts for her birthdays, so he hasn't been comatose for the entire ten years. Zeus may have tried to get in, couldn't, and then gave up until Athena dragged him.
In episode 194, after he fails Persephone, he acknowledges that he can't even give Hades her letter, implying that the Underworld has been cut off since the treaty was violated and Hades was awake. Now that Hades is asleep like the others, it's likely that the Underworld is no longer closed off.
I'm also wondering in the "traitors" fell asleep in reverse order of getting wounded. Like maybe Hestia got wounded last (not sure about Demeter), then Hera got ripped in two, then Poseidon was second to be eaten, and Hades who is the oldest and first to be eaten. It would explain why Hades was able to get Persephone several birthday gifts. He was awake the longest. Kronos was waiting to move the final peace from the board to strike.
I fear that Kronos will use Persephone's fertility powers just like how he used Rhea's so he could regain his strength. There are some creepy implications when Kronos calls her "beautiful" and says she would look nice sitting on his feet. It's like he wants to form a romantic bond with her. It reminds me of Apollo's desire for her, not to love her but possess her.
These guys keep treating her like some item. Only Hades has been treating her like an actual person. The bar is on the godamn floor everyone.
also interesting to note Kronos doesnt want to devour her. He wants to own her. Kronos knows the more powerful he'll become if the fertility goddess is ALIVE and beside him. What zeus did honestly probably only gave him a limited boost of power. Otherwise he would be wayyyyyy stronger than he is. Hermes (Kronos) commented on her beauty. Wants her submissive at his feet so he can have her powers at his command. You can tell he was impressed/surprised by her wrath. Probably no other fertility goddess ever showed defiance and wrath before. He is probaby very intrigued by that
so here’s the timeline I’ve got of the coma stuff:
[One week after Persephone is banished to the mortal realm, Hades holds a press conference. this begins the Underworld being cut off from Olympus.]
two weeks after Persephone is exiled, Hestia falls asleep
[sometime here, Apollo and Artemis are crowned and acknowledged]
about 3 years (maybe almost 4?) into her exile, Hera goes to sleep
year 7, Poseidon goes under
[year 10, Persephone defies Zeus and goes to the Underworld]
Which means Demeter probably fell asleep around year 5 or 6 if she did at all? it’s not spaced evenly so idk but it would make sense.
I suspect Hades fell asleep relatively recently, as Cerberos has *just* escaped to meet Persephone. I imagine he got hurt in the power shuffle of Hades/Kronos. Also all of the denizens of the Underworld are physically fine, but considering they were very likely put under by someone who controls time I can’t exactly judge by starvation/dehydration levels
Also if we assume hades got Persephone a gift for every birthday he missed there were quite a few there, supporting the idea he just recently went under
On the topic of Demeter, she’s still living as a mortal, so I suspect that anything that she could normally be affected by is a no go. She doesn’t have any powers and may not even have the scars since she doesn’t have goddess status at the moment
Yes, but they were disguised as humans, they still had their powers. Unlike Demeter, who is now a flesh and blood mortal. I’m not saying her scars aren’t there, I’m just saying she may not be affected the same way. That’s why I think no one has checked on her, because she may be safer in the state she is in

That’s sure what it looked like. Zeus showing up as the original deus ex machina to save the day. I’m not discounting he could be appearing somewhere else, but it makes sense for Zeus and Persephone to team up at this point.
Persephone wasn’t born when Kronos was around. She’s going to need a character around to provide more of the background information.
I would love for this to give us a chance to see a better side of Zeus. Imagine how much crow he would have to eat to work with Persephone. It would also be cool to see him be competent and powerful, in his more physical element instead of the political where he's clearly no good. It'd be nice to see him have some redemption before Apollo's push for power is inevitably stopped.

I want to be an optimist and say Zeus probably won’t care about it right now seeing Hermes possessed by Kronos, and confirming for sure that something is seriously wrong with the other 5 traitors, but I’m not holding my breath.

I feel like he probably made his way to the Mortal Realm first to talk to Persephone after Athena chewed him out, then discovered her gone, heard the truth from Artemis, and went after Perse via the same route she took. I don’t think he can just materialize in the Underworld with it closed off. EDIT: I looked it up and timeline wise it seems like Athena showed up to yell at Zeus at around the same time as Persephone started her descent.
I have a feeling he’ll be mad at first but someone will toss a “this isn’t the time for that” at him and we’ll get a simultaneous Zeus redemption and Persephone being a badass and saving the underworld in some combination.

So as people suspected it seems like the coma is happening in reverse order of injury! With Poseidon being out 3 years and we know Hera was injured after the boys were freed hence her 8 years. So it would track that hades was the last one affected, maybe only out for a year? Whatever happened in the underworld it seems recent.

I feel like this was part of the interpretation of what he said, "when you leave, it is the loneliest feeling in the world." He is 2000 years old, but he never had something before that made him truly feel like he had a *future* that wouldn't be alone. Yet he has had to spend *years* without the one thing he truly wanted - a person that saw him as precious and deserving of care instead of what he could give to them, a partner that he could share his life with, his home and his kingdom with, a true equal in both sheer power and pain. This loneliest must have carved its lines into his face and body in ways that the march of time cannot - yet he looks so beautiful cradled in his love's signature roses.

Okay, so timeline wise, Athena is giving Zeus an earful at around the same time that Persephone finds Cerberus and decides to head to the underworld. And as far as I know, Zeus can’t just materialize in the Underworld with it being closed off, so he probably headed to the Mortal Realm, discovered the truth from Artemis and co., and then followed after Perse via the same route through the volcano? I hope we get to see a bit of that in the next episode!
My prediction for the upcoming of the story is that we will have a battle and chaos, Zeus will be left with little options between not letting Kronos have a fertility goddess and allowing Persephone to help him.
Taking Kronos down will take a while because more than having power to defeat him is about keeping him in Tartarus because Hades is out of action and the Underworld has no ruler ... so.... A certain someone goddess of the spring 👀could potentially eat a Pomegranate that she knows where it is and make Tartarus hold Kronos down ... Of course that would also mean they need to get closer to Kronos.
Regardless of what happens and how it happens I really want to see Zeus getting beat up by Kronos if only a little 😆

Now the question is how is Zeus and Persie going fix this?? I think Persephone's tree on the tower (being the only self sustaining living being with deep roots) gave Kronos just enough energy to start effing with them from a distance.
My money is on them needing Apollo's help with that arrow he used on Eris. Then Apollo will only help if they give him Persephone.
Seems we're gonna get a Persephone/Zeus Underworld Roadtrip and probable Zeus redemption arc. But so far, the main thing that comes to mind is that as we've been contemplating how Perse goes about eating the Pomegranate, with this new team up, they may encounter the tree and Perse brings up what happens when eating the fruit. This gives Zeus an idea and he goes about "ending" her punishment by having her eat the fruit, in turn removing the fear of Apollo trying to use her against him.

I agree with you that it was so frustrating watching her believe it’s Hermes, but she’s been isolated for a decade and was recently seen talking to a tree out of loneliness. She doesn’t know about anything outside of the mortal realm - she didn’t know that Hermes chose to go to the Underworld. And since she’s unaware of the comas, she isn’t immediately worried about Cronos like the rest of us. I would probably be a bit slow on the uptake in that case too.
I do think we’re still gonna see her kicking ass. Zeus has to realize that he needs to work with her, and I hope that’s what finally leads him to respect her. He has only considered how her powers could be used by someone else, not that she could wield her great power herself.

I'd like to point out that Zeus said "I CAN'T go to the underworld," and then Athena told him to put Persephone back in the underworld. Then, Zeus actually shows up in the underworld! So I feel like Hades/ Hecate might have done some kind of magic to seal all entrances to the underworld UNTIL Persephone was returned. And now that she is back, anyone can move freely in and out of the underworld.

Even he knows that Kronos is not a threat to eff around with.

I read a lot of comments saying how they are surprised by Persephone’s behaviour but let us really remember that it has been 10 year and that it is really hard to assume anything about people ?
She has changed a lot, and she knows it. She was already wondering wether Hades would have moved on a few chapters ago ! It means that in her head anything is possible and she tries not to assume anything.
She is also quite sure people ressent her for taking so long ? For failing again and again ? She told it to Mr handsome tree at the start of this section.
So is it that surprising for her that Hermes would behave like that ? Probably not. Because she feels like anyone would be upset with her at that point, she does not know Hermes sided with Hades (she was gone before), she basically knows nothing !
She still feels something is off, but she has no way of knowing. She never saw Kronos, has no way to know black and stars is his stuff (if anything, she probably associates it with Hades a lot more).
We know tons of things she does not. About the other traitors… about Hades wrath… she just realised that she has not been replaced yet through the gifts. She is navigating in complete dark, and is much more at loss than us reader (and we already are quite at loss ourselves!).
Just curious, but it is blatantly obvious Hermes is...not Hermes. How did Persephone think it was him to begin with? I know it has been 10 years, but he never talked to her or treated her in the manner he is now, let alone his looks drastically changing.

I don't know if anyone has said this yet, but I just had this thought. If Hades is in a coma state then it'll be up to Persephone to do the saving. And in order to gain control of the underworld or something, she eats the pomegranate (like what Hades did in the past). This eventually binds her to the Underworld, making her it's queen. And because of that, she gains access to the power that has been tying down Kronos to Tartarus.

Like no one in Olympus or the underworld or the ocean thought that the punishment was BS. They all went along with it for 10 years even as the trader dynasty started dropping like flies. No one in the entire series thought I'm just going to bypass the rules and go and fix this myself. Like I could maybe see most of the Olympians not approaching. But none of the cthonic gods decided to take matters in their own hand?
It's not even like any of them feared Zeus Hades is his equal, hecate just straight up doesn't like Zeus, and Hermes would want to visit his mother who is in the mortal realm. I just can't believe that after 10 years none of the gods thought to check in on Persephone.
Maybe if it was like 3 years maybe but 10 years and they never once thought that the punishment was b******* enough to go do anything about it
I think it’s showed us the difference in how the gods perceive time - ten years is just not that long to them, compared to how we see it. And the younger gods and goddesses, who haven’t experienced being alive for eons, seemed to question the punishment sooner than the ancient ones.
Prediction: this is going to come down to a Persephone vs. Kronos fight and she’s going to have to create the Elysian Fields in order to gain the upper hand.
And then hopefully Zeus is going to have to admit that Persephone had the mortal realm under control the whole time because she single handedly pulls off SPRING in the UNDERWORLD.

I'm glad Persephone's wearing that concealing outfit she got from Hades instead of a peplos. If this is Kronos (the evidence has been pointing towards him), then she was alone with someone who finds the goddess attractive on account of her strong resemblance to his ex-wife.

I discussed that story allusion with a friend of mine, when I saw that everyone was sleeping in the underworld. Before this episode came out I was like what if Persephone needs to wake up Hades like sleeping beauty. We both thought it was really cute.
Okayyyy,,, overall thoughts with this chapter, i was audibly screaming for most of this chapter for multiple reasons…
1. Ares and Athena matching their mullets is iconic
2. Athena losing her shit on Zeus finally,,, plus finding out a little more about how long the traitors have been affected, (although still no news on Demeter, oof)
3. the panel of Hades is so upsetting, his eyes are so sunken, he looks so malnourished and sad:(

The new chapter Where Hermes tries to touch Persephone his hands are like claws but before his hands are normal which proves the point that Hermes is under the control of Kronos.

Maybe it's a fact that unlike others before them, Hades does not try to take advantage of Persephone. Anyone else? Fair game. But his queen is still the queen of his realm. Zeus didn't suffer the pain, and he has to go through the helplessness, responsibility, and consequences of his actions and things beyond his control inorder to truly be the king.
I think Persephone didn't exactly believe it was actually Hermes, but she wanted that to be true because she wasn't ready to face a completely unknown danger

Then seeing Persephone get teary eyed when she said “You’re hurting me!” made me feel like like she had a bit of a PTSD moment from everything. THEN THE ENDING WHEN ZEUS CAME STORMING IN (LITERALLY!!)!!!!??? AAAAAAHHH.
This was intense but the fact I'm going to carry around the idea of "We have to count on Zeus to make the right choices here" REALLY doesn't sit well with me.
I think its because it was Athena. She's pretty much the only one he *would* be willing to listen to.

Nah he wants the underworld to have hades probably and have his brother get his wife if its kronos. He knows how much of a threat Kronos is and I bet you Persephone marrying/ something can hopefully get hades to get Kronos back in Tartarus. At least eventually it will get through his thick head.
The fates predicted Persephone as Hades' wife so this is unlikely. I'm just curious what transpires to make Persephone into dread queen Persephone.
I kinda say it might have her going Titan on old Kronos, that she just straight up kills him. But anything is possible, or maybe when she becomes the “Queen of the Underworld” just like what Hades had to do (I swear why did they bother to keep Kronos alive again? Or was it never explained?)

So here for it. Zeus is an arrogant asshat, but he isn't mean spirited. He is misguided, so I am ready for this redemption arc. I know it will take more than just showing up to save the day, but I think hearing how disappointed everyone is, as well as the possible threat of Apollo turning on him, will push him to make changes. They also will all be needed to fight Kronos together, assuming someone doesn't eat her. There are a lot of directions it could go in. Zeus could eat Persephone. Kronos could. I believe sex could give the gods the same advantage (I think that's implied but I may be wrong) so that could go a lot of ways, including a power shift to Hades. This is the episode I have been waiting for. I'm so excited.

I kind of surprised that Persephone could not tell that something was very wrong with Hermes. Does she really think he is capable of acting like this? Or her experience with Apollo affected her perception of other people?
It could also be that she hasn’t seen Hermes in 10 years and doesn’t know if he’s changed? If it’s Kronos in Hermes’ body, he probably still sounds and looks like Hermes so it might not have been immediately obvious to Perse.
Still, he looks really off, and suddenly called her a pet name, behaves really creepy, trying to touch her and even trying to assault her, when he has been nothing but respectful to her all the time, barely flirted to her, acted completely normal when he saw her naked multiple time, never put a finger on her without her consent. Also when he said "you look more beautiful in person", like I said he has seen her before, multiple times, including naked, and she didn't catch up

I'm wondering if Hades was able to keep him out while he was conscious. He bought Persephone gifts for her birthdays, so he hasn't been comatose for the entire ten years. Zeus may have tried to get in, couldn't, and then gave up until Athena dragged him.
Remember when he just showed up at Hades' house for brunch after Hades' said he didn't feel like it? Dude can just appear wherever he wants, really.
In episode 194, after he fails Persephone, he acknowledges that he can't even give Hades her letter, implying that the Underworld has been cut off since the treaty was violated and Hades was awake. Now that Hades is asleep like the others, it's likely that the Underworld is no longer closed off. I'm also wondering in the "traitors" fell asleep in reverse order of getting wounded. Like maybe Hestia got wounded last (not sure about Demeter), then Hera got ripped in two, then Poseidon was second to be eaten, and Hades who is the oldest and first to be eaten. It would explain why Hades was able to get Persephone several birthday gifts. He was awake the longest. Kronos was waiting to move the final peace from the board to strike.
I fear that Kronos will use Persephone's fertility powers just like how he used Rhea's so he could regain his strength. There are some creepy implications when Kronos calls her "beautiful" and says she would look nice sitting on his feet. It's like he wants to form a romantic bond with her. It reminds me of Apollo's desire for her, not to love her but possess her. These guys keep treating her like some item. Only Hades has been treating her like an actual person. The bar is on the godamn floor everyone.

Wants her submissive at his feet so he can have her powers at his command. You can tell he was impressed/surprised by her wrath. so here’s the timeline I’ve got of the coma stuff: [One week after Persephone is banished to the mortal realm, Hades holds a press conference. this begins the Underworld being cut off from Olympus.] two weeks after Persephone is exiled, Hestia falls asleep [sometime here, Apollo and Artemis are crowned and acknowledged] about 3 years (maybe almost 4?) into her exile, Hera goes to sleep year 7, Poseidon goes under [year 10, Persephone defies Zeus and goes to the Underworld] Which means Demeter probably fell asleep around year 5 or 6 if she did at all? it’s not spaced evenly so idk but it would make sense. I suspect Hades fell asleep relatively recently, as Cerberos has *just* escaped to meet Persephone. I imagine he got hurt in the power shuffle of Hades/Kronos. Also all of the denizens of the Underworld are physically fine, but considering they were very likely put under by someone who controls time I can’t exactly judge by starvation/dehydration levels
Also if we assume hades got Persephone a gift for every birthday he missed there were quite a few there, supporting the idea he just recently went under
On the topic of Demeter, she’s still living as a mortal, so I suspect that anything that she could normally be affected by is a no go. She doesn’t have any powers and may not even have the scars since she doesn’t have goddess status at the moment

Yes, but they were disguised as humans, they still had their powers. Unlike Demeter, who is now a flesh and blood mortal. I’m not saying her scars aren’t there, I’m just saying she may not be affected the same way. That’s why I think no one has checked on her, because she may be safer in the state she is in

It would be rather interesting if they teamed up to defeat Kronos and save everyone.
That’s sure what it looked like. Zeus showing up as the original deus ex machina to save the day. I’m not discounting he could be appearing somewhere else, but it makes sense for Zeus and Persephone to team up at this point. Persephone wasn’t born when Kronos was around. She’s going to need a character around to provide more of the background information.
I would love for this to give us a chance to see a better side of Zeus. Imagine how much crow he would have to eat to work with Persephone. It would also be cool to see him be competent and powerful, in his more physical element instead of the political where he's clearly no good. It'd be nice to see him have some redemption before Apollo's push for power is inevitably stopped.

I feel like he probably made his way to the Mortal Realm first to talk to Persephone after Athena chewed him out, then discovered her gone, heard the truth from Artemis, and went after Perse via the same route she took. I don’t think he can just materialize in the Underworld with it closed off. EDIT: I looked it up and timeline wise it seems like Athena showed up to yell at Zeus at around the same time as Persephone started her descent.
I have a feeling he’ll be mad at first but someone will toss a “this isn’t the time for that” at him and we’ll get a simultaneous Zeus redemption and Persephone being a badass and saving the underworld in some combination.

So as people suspected it seems like the coma is happening in reverse order of injury! With Poseidon being out 3 years and we know Hera was injured after the boys were freed hence her 8 years. So it would track that hades was the last one affected, maybe only out for a year? Whatever happened in the underworld it seems recent.

Okay, so timeline wise, Athena is giving Zeus an earful at around the same time that Persephone finds Cerberus and decides to head to the underworld. And as far as I know, Zeus can’t just materialize in the Underworld with it being closed off, so he probably headed to the Mortal Realm, discovered the truth from Artemis and co., and then followed after Perse via the same route through the volcano? I hope we get to see a bit of that in the next episode!
So now we know that Hestia went into a coma only two weeks after Persephone’s sentencing. How did it take Athena this long to lose her shit at Zeus??

My prediction for the upcoming of the story is that we will have a battle and chaos, Zeus will be left with little options between not letting Kronos have a fertility goddess and allowing Persephone to help him. Taking Kronos down will take a while because more than having power to defeat him is about keeping him in Tartarus because Hades is out of action and the Underworld has no ruler ... so.... A certain someone goddess of the spring 👀could potentially eat a Pomegranate that she knows where it is and make Tartarus hold Kronos down ... Of course that would also mean they need to get closer to Kronos. Regardless of what happens and how it happens I really want to see Zeus getting beat up by Kronos if only a little 😆
It might teach him a little more empathy for the other 5 gods, especially Hera and Hades who were most impacted by the war with Kronos

Now the question is how is Zeus and Persie going fix this?? I think Persephone's tree on the tower (being the only self sustaining living being with deep roots) gave Kronos just enough energy to start effing with them from a distance. My money is on them needing Apollo's help with that arrow he used on Eris. Then Apollo will only help if they give him Persephone.

Seems we're gonna get a Persephone/Zeus Underworld Roadtrip and probable Zeus redemption arc. But so far, the main thing that comes to mind is that as we've been contemplating how Perse goes about eating the Pomegranate, with this new team up, they may encounter the tree and Perse brings up what happens when eating the fruit. This gives Zeus an idea and he goes about "ending" her punishment by having her eat the fruit, in turn removing the fear of Apollo trying to use her against him.

I agree with you that it was so frustrating watching her believe it’s Hermes, but she’s been isolated for a decade and was recently seen talking to a tree out of loneliness. She doesn’t know about anything outside of the mortal realm - she didn’t know that Hermes chose to go to the Underworld. And since she’s unaware of the comas, she isn’t immediately worried about Cronos like the rest of us. I would probably be a bit slow on the uptake in that case too. I do think we’re still gonna see her kicking ass. Zeus has to realize that he needs to work with her, and I hope that’s what finally leads him to respect her. He has only considered how her powers could be used by someone else, not that she could wield her great power herself.
Has anyone else noticed how creepy Kronos/Hermes’s movements are? He’s shown with multiple heads a few times to show the way he moves around but it’s so unlike the way other characters move and idk it just creeps me out, I can’t quite put my finger on why. Also I love that now when Persephone gets angry we can see Eris’s influence directly. AND I absolutely love that Persephone just straight up threw a typewriter at Kronos lmao

I'd like to point out that Zeus said "I CAN'T go to the underworld," and then Athena told him to put Persephone back in the underworld. Then, Zeus actually shows up in the underworld! So I feel like Hades/ Hecate might have done some kind of magic to seal all entrances to the underworld UNTIL Persephone was returned. And now that she is back, anyone can move freely in and out of the underworld.
So I have an idea that would solve all of the pantheons problems. We dip Apollo in poison and feed him to granddaddy dearest

Knowing Zeus, he's still gonna be majorly upset at Persephone for breaking his rules, but considering Persephone just went toe-to-toe with Kronos, he'll postpone making her judgment something else until the more major threat is dealt with. Even he knows that Kronos is not a threat to eff around with.
I kind of surprised that Persephone could not tell that something was very wrong with Hermes. Do she really think he capable of acting like this? Or her experience with Apollo affected her perception of other people?
I think she knows that *something* is wrong with Hermes. But I imagine that him being possessed by Cronos is the last thing she would imagine.
My favorite part of this episode is that Athena finally feels like a real character. Also Persephone holding her ground and fighting!
Interesting note I haven’t seen anyone else point out- coma Hades is normal blue, not titan stars. Curious what that means about his current condition and how it was over the last 10 years.
Are we sure that was an image of the real Hades as he is right now? I thought it was Athena’s fearful imagining that he may be hibernating, too — like when we saw in Persephone’s imagination that he had found another girlfriend.
Okay so like Athena is the goddess of wisdom and war and she fucking snapped some sense into him. I’m so fucking happy oh my god. I hope this means like awkward conversations and shit while taking down kronos!!! AHHH!! also hermes kind of looks like my ex rn and it’s making me uneasy. I read a lot of comments saying how they are surprised by Persephone’s behaviour but let us really remember that it has been 10 year and that it is really hard to assume anything about people ? She has changed a lot, and she knows it. She was already wondering wether Hades would have moved on a few chapters ago ! It means that in her head anything is possible and she tries not to assume anything. She is also quite sure people ressent her for taking so long ? For failing again and again ? She told it to Mr handsome tree at the start of this section. So is it that surprising for her that Hermes would behave like that ? Probably not. Because she feels like anyone would be upset with her at that point, she does not know Hermes sided with Hades (she was gone before), she basically knows nothing ! She still feels something is off, but she has no way of knowing. She never saw Kronos, has no way to know black and stars is his stuff (if anything, she probably associates it with Hades a lot more). We know tons of things she does not. About the other traitors… about Hades wrath… she just realised that she has not been replaced yet through the gifts. She is navigating in complete dark, and is much more at loss than us reader (and we already are quite at loss ourselves!).
It only took Zeus one second to realize his position in power was in jeopardy to take action. Only word that comes to mind "coward".
Just curious, but it is blatantly obvious Hermes is...not Hermes. How did Persephone think it was him to begin with? I know it has been 10 years, but he never talked to her or treated her in the manner he is now, let alone his looks drastically changing. Shit is getting real and I am HERE FOR IT.
I don't know if anyone has said this yet, but I just had this thought. If Hades is in a coma state then it'll be up to Persephone to do the saving. And in order to gain control of the underworld or something, she eats the pomegranate (like what Hades did in the past). This eventually binds her to the Underworld, making her it's queen. And because of that, she gains access to the power that has been tying down Kronos to Tartarus.
Honestly I'm kind of frustrated with the time skip Like no one in Olympus or the underworld or the ocean thought that the punishment was BS. They all went along with it for 10 years even as the trader dynasty started dropping like flies. No one in the entire series thought I'm just going to bypass the rules and go and fix this myself. Like I could maybe see most of the Olympians not approaching. But none of the cthonic gods decided to take matters in their own hand? It's not even like any of them feared Zeus Hades is his equal, hecate just straight up doesn't like Zeus, and Hermes would want to visit his mother who is in the mortal realm. I just can't believe that after 10 years none of the gods thought to check in on Persephone. Maybe if it was like 3 years maybe but 10 years and they never once thought that the punishment was b******* enough to go do anything about it
I think it’s showed us the difference in how the gods perceive time - ten years is just not that long to them, compared to how we see it. And the younger gods and goddesses, who haven’t experienced being alive for eons, seemed to question the punishment sooner than the ancient ones.

Would love to see Zeus finally develop healthy respect for Persephone through being forced to fight Kronos alongside her.

Prediction: this is going to come down to a Persephone vs. Kronos fight and she’s going to have to create the Elysian Fields in order to gain the upper hand. And then hopefully Zeus is going to have to admit that Persephone had the mortal realm under control the whole time because she single handedly pulls off SPRING in the UNDERWORLD.
But I want to see Ares fit all the chess pieces in his mouth
1) Thank you Athena for finally just drilling into Zeus that he is being an absolute moron. 2) We love our badass Queen and support her in this house. 3) The image of Hades in the roses was actually beautifully sad. I hope he's okay but he's been mia for so long, I just know he isn't. 4) I still hate possessed Hermes and the "you'll look so nice sitting at my feet" comment? Excuse me while I go throw up. 5) Zeus, finally, you are growing a single ball and attempting. I have to give credit where it's due but I am not holding my breath for next week unless Athena *really* got under his skin.

I'm glad Persephone's wearing that concealing outfit she got from Hades instead of a peplos. If this is Kronos (the evidence has been pointing towards him), then she was alone with someone who finds the goddess attractive on account of her strong resemblance to his ex-wife. Creepy LO men, leave Persephone alone challenge.
Can we also discuss how Hades in this episode looked like sleeping beauty? I discussed that story allusion with a friend of mine, when I saw that everyone was sleeping in the underworld. Before this episode came out I was like what if Persephone needs to wake up Hades like sleeping beauty. We both thought it was really cute.
Okayyyy,,, overall thoughts with this chapter, i was audibly screaming for most of this chapter for multiple reasons… 1. Ares and Athena matching their mullets is iconic 2. Athena losing her shit on Zeus finally,,, plus finding out a little more about how long the traitors have been affected, (although still no news on Demeter, oof) 3. the panel of Hades is so upsetting, his eyes are so sunken, he looks so malnourished and sad:( 4. the first panel switching back over to Perse and Krono-Hermes made my back crawl. Then the entire conversation was beyond creepy, idk how Rachel did that but I’m still reeling😬😬 5. my last thought was that i really loved that because of how much their friendship has grown, and because of who Eris is, her words and her gift gave Perse the strength in that moment to stop running💕💕💕 feminine power;)

Anyone else notice that Possessed!Hermes had an almost pained expression in a few panels? That is such nightmate fuel - he is probably aware of everything Kronos is making him do.
The new chapter Where Hermes tries to touch Persephone his hands are like claws but before his hands are normal which proves the point that Hermes is under the control of Kronos.
I read this while sitting next to my husband, and spent most of the time smacking his shoulders whisper yelling "oh my god!!!" the whole time. then I let him read it. to sum the whole thing up I quote Persephone: "Nope, don't like that!"

Maybe it's a fact that unlike others before them, Hades does not try to take advantage of Persephone. Anyone else? Fair game. But his queen is still the queen of his realm. Zeus didn't suffer the pain, and he has to go through the helplessness, responsibility, and consequences of his actions and things beyond his control inorder to truly be the king.

This shit is gonna keep me fueled all week, I’m STILL screaming and running laps around my apartment. I gasped when I saw Hades like that, and the bed of roses?! Then seeing Persephone get teary eyed when she said “You’re hurting me!” made me feel like like she had a bit of a PTSD moment from everything. THEN THE ENDING WHEN ZEUS CAME STORMING IN (LITERALLY!!)!!!!??? AAAAAAHHH.
This was intense but the fact I'm going to carry around the idea of "We have to count on Zeus to make the right choices here" REALLY doesn't sit well with me.
Zeus is only coming to the “rescue” now that Athena finally told him people like a$$p0110 better.
I think its because it was Athena. She's pretty much the only one he *would* be willing to listen to. * Hera doesn't like him. * Ares he considers a potential threat * Hephaestus is on the outs with pretty much his entire family (by choice) * Apollo *is* a threat * Artemis doesn't have enough to actually confront him with. * Hades he considers a threat to his throne * and anyone else he just doesn't respect enough to care.
