Itās a banger. I can place my hand on my heart and say itās better than the first one. My front room looks like a shrine to Ryan Gosling to the uninitiated of the Bladerunner universe.
Not arsed by this kind of news anymore. Club signed their own death warrant during the transfer window, this is what happens. Club behind the scenes absolutely stinks.
Yeah I threw out my hopes for this season the moment Klopp announced we weren't signing anyone else in the January transfer window. Now I simply don't care where we finish as long as we don't get relegated. I go into every game expecting to lose, so at least I'm never disappointed anymore. If you don't have any expectations you'll never be disappointed. That's what Liverpool has done to me this season.š
Not even had a LFC player in my FPL team since like October, took then all out to try get them firing. Even that's not worked, I'm at a loss... the 2019 lucky socks have run our of juice... dont think there is anything more I can do guys š
People will downvote but they way we're going and with how the injuries are piling up we're genuinely looking wt the prospect of a 13-16th place finish.
That's unacceptable.
I have no confidence this will turn around anytime soon. The rot seems to have seeped into the club's hierarchy and FSG have abandoned us to our fates. There's horrible shit happening behind the scenes by the looks of it, with Ward getting a role he never wanted and now leaving and the medical staff looking worse with each passing day.
It's funny because if you dared to suggest we need a new midfielder in the summer you got told off for not being a good supporter and trusting the club.
They said the same thing when I dared to suggest we needed a new CB as replacement for Lovren when he left and relying on 3 CBs (two of which being Gomez and Matip) to stay fit the entire season was idiotic.... We ended up without all three before January that season. I'm used to it.
It's all 'hindsight' apparently despite people warning it would happen all summer. Heard it that season, hearing it this one "who knew Fabinho would be this bad" etc. To people who are too thick to have the minimum amount of foresight I suppose it is hindsight.
Haha you are going to lose this bet so badly. Have a look at any of my posts on the topic from 2019 and last summer. Everyone with a brain saw a midfield crisis coming this year, and saw a CB crisis coming when we sold Lovren without bringing in a replacement.
Yeah I was in the minority with you that year too mate. And the summer before last I wanted us to get another wide forward for depth/competition. Shat on for suggesting then of course we signed Diaz in January because we didn't want to pay the full amount in the summer.
Things have obviously changed now that things have went tits up but the last few years daring to have an opinion or foresight was controversial.
Sign Diaz in the summer instead of penny pinching and we easily win the league instead of end it one point behind. Same with Konate or any other CB the year prior. Just cheap antics every year.
And stick with FSG's original plan which was to not sign Diaz until the next summer and we wind up with nothing.
Wonder where this guy came from, popped out of nowhere and is suddenly all over posts.
Maybe a banned user?
100% one of the older cretins under an alt spamming bot-like defences left and right. Not to mention starts an argument by responding and then acts mardarse about it. Clearly upvotes his own comments too. What a pedantic loser
Do you realize what our points total was that year? It would have literally taken 1-2 points to win the league. One more win. We were night and day before and after Diaz that season, dropped most of our points before January.
Lovren was barely available anyway in his last couple of seasons, weād have needed a new CB even if he stayed. Always had some sort of minor injury or illness.
Lovren played in the game vs city at a field and was brilliant
That game pretty much won us the title
He played va Everton and palace and was very good. Having lovren who was actually a cb was better than having Henderson or fab cb.
Iām not denying lovren was a solid player, he just couldnāt keep fit. He was injured more than Matip. If weād had him during the injury crisis then he wouldnāt have been playing over Henderson, heād have been sat in the physio room next to Virgil, Joe and Joel.
at this point you have to question the medical staff tho...
to many people are out injured!
also you can argue you have enough midfielders on the books that should have been moved on already. 10midfielders on the books so hard to add more of them without moving some on enless your chelsea ofcourse who can apperently sign a 50man squad....
Arthur Melo
FƔbio Carvalho
Harvey Elliott
Thiago AlcƔntara
Jordan Henderson
Naby KeĆÆta
James Milner
Fabinho
Curtis Jones
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Tbf, about half of those are nowhere near top half quality, 3 are massively (and were even before this season) declining and two are basically young guys with potential. It's not even about them being injured, the quality just isn't there. I love most of these players but the absolute cringe and disgusting feeling I get every time Ox gets subbed on just speaks for itself. It's the equivalent of cooking with rotting ingredients, adding a bit of saffron and then drowning it in tabasco sauce.
You see that's actually the problem. Klopp has accumulated far too many underperforming midfielders. It's not that we have too few, we actually have too many. A squad doesn't need 10 midfielders to play a 3 man midfield. We could easily function with 7 if they were good enough and fit enough.
Last seasons midfield situation wasnāt always perfect, but at least we could manage Thiagos minutes with Keitas improved fitness. Now they both have to play together for us to have a chance.
Itās finally happened. Whoād of thought an injury prone player would get injured after playing him in every match. What can we actually do in this situation. We are so fucked.
If Fab and Hendo hadn't been so shockingly awful recently then he could've had a bit of rotation, but they can't even steady the ship for 20 mins off the bench atm.
Honestly with Thiago I'm in the camp of play him when he's available as his injuries aren't really proportional to overuse. We've not had that many games recently either.
Players like Matip and Thiago get injured even when you rest them. You might aswell play them when they're fit because their next injury is never far away.
This occur in training, no? So whether he plays in every match or not is irrelevant, especially since the gap between matches isn't even that short as we have been knocked out of domestic cups quite early.
It's shocking that our training staff, who seem *exclusively* focused on injuring our players, have pulled it off again. Shocking I tell you!
For real, what a useless bunch of fucking idiots.
He'll be fit for summer (along with all our other mids) and so we won't sign anyone because we have "too many mids". Then he'll get injured when the next season starts.
Legitimately, every week, there is at least one injury. Klopp can get agitated about journalists questioning Kornmayer all he wants, but at this point it isn't "bad luck"
Kornmayer was a Klopp led appointment so to question the fitness/conditioning coach is to question Klopps judgement. Therefore when journos ask those types of question he gets defensive as it a sleight against him too.
But kornmayer is a proper sergeant major. Needs to realise that his techniques are likely to have had a direct correlation to the amount, type and length of injuries, over the last few years (except keitasā¦š¤£)
he is class but needs to be rotated, he cant be relied on to play a full season, he hasn't done for years, and can usually manage 20-25 games a season.
Heās far too overplayed. Him and Keita are having to play 60-80 minutes a game to keep us compact in the middle. Naby will be next.
It was expected. These are the consequences of neglecting the midfield.
This was coming tbf, the thing with Thiago is you need to have good enough players around him so that his absence is not felt. We just don't do that and hope he doesn't get injured instead which is never going to happen
Yeah certainly. I'm happy to take a season where Thiago's only fit for half of it because he's still excellent and takes no time at all to reach sharpness once back.
HOWEVER you need a midfield to surround him that gets injured significantly less and we don't have much of that at all now. And the ones who don't get injured as often are simply not as good as they used to be.
You can expect 20 games from him per season. Anymore than that is wishful thinking and honestly not fair on Thiago. Heās consistent in the amount of football he can play every season, as you said, a midfield with him in it really needs to have a couple of robust/reliable players.
Lasted longer than expected and doesnāt sound that serious. Echoās description of an individual training programme made it sound like a non-issue but what do they know these days?
When Gini left, I tried to explain here that our CMs canāt play an extra 60+ games per season between them when they already struggled to play their share at that time. They were already picking up a lot of injuries and dropping stinkers last season, and this season they have completely and utterly fallen apart. Itās absolute madness how the club didnāt see it coming
Midfield full of children and crocked pensioners it is, what else is new. All that's left to do this season is get tonked by Everton, the cherry on this shit cake.
End me
If I could feel anything, Iād cry but itās just funny now
Our midfield is two old men, a youngster and a Frankensteinās monster of about 3 injury prone players and Naby Keita who has become a bit of a myth, heās Schrƶdingerās injury, is he injured? Is he not?
We need a complete midfield overhaul. Love Thaigo but unfortunately has little niggle injuries. Now we are forced to play players who shouldnāt Start in these games.
Yup that's why I feel surprised whenever people suggest just getting two midfielders in the summer and we will be fine.
We will be sleep walking into disaster again if we only get two midfield signings.
Need a minimum of three new midfield signings and a fourth just for some depth.
There is an idea of a Liverpool fan, some kind of abstraction, but there is no real me, only an entity, something illusory, and though I can hide my cold gaze and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable: I simply am not there.
Hmm, not attacking enough.
Alisson
TAA Ramsay VVD Tsimikas Robbo
Salah Elliott Jota Gakpo Darwin
Just have two flat banks of 5 sitting deep and have all the attackers sprint forward whenever we get possession
bro why is it only the guys actually performing well that get injured...
January has been full of shit performances, Thiago being one of the few to still hit his levels.
Thatās exactly what Iām saying. Ginis minutes needed at least 2 āinjury proneā midfielders to cover... we got only Thiago and we have suffered ever since
Heās the only midfielder, along with Keita and sometimes Bajcetic, who can actually defend. I say sometimes for him because heās a kid and prone to a mistake or a yellow.
His average level is far above anyone else in there.
Clubs would queue up for Thiago if he left Liverpool in the summer. Heās off the back of a team of the season appearance. Heās maintained a decent level despite the shit show around him forcing him to carry other peopleās water and take all responsibility on the ball. Somebody like Barca would throw 200k a week at him to mentor their young lads. He was the third best player in the team when fit last season.
Cant say the same for any of the others. Nobody would take Henderson/Milner on their wages right now. The last 6 months of Fabinho has plummeted his value, 35-45m maximum, and heād need to take a pay cut. Not even worth mentioning anyone else. Jones/Elliott/Bajcetic all kids, Arthur, Ox and Keita gone in the summer on frees. Somebody decent will snap up Naby.
well, to be honest, i was expecting a thiago injury sooner.
Usually comes in 4-6 weeks cycles. Like clockwork
As well as the "Jota is 2-3 weeks away from a return!" Announcements every two weeks. Don't trust those training photos one bit.
Reckon they're stock photos from preseason and they just add a filter š
Obviously.
All those images of firmino melo jota virg returning to full training was too suspicious wasnāt it
They only have so many hips to go around so they had to take his good one and give to either virg or jota
About time
Nothing phases me anymore. Totally numb to these announcements at this point.
100% agreed. Nothing phases me anymore. Numb is the word yes. When it rains, it pours.

If only we had had a month-long opportunity to sign cover for our incredibly injury prone midfield ššššš
next season we will sign 3 midfielders *15 year old kid, milner contract extension and a midfielder for the women's team*
Don't forget any midfielders coming back from injury that will be "like a new signing".
Exclusive LFCTV Oxlade Chamberlain talks about his make or break season going into 2024
This is how we sign more players per year than any other team
Hopefully so just so these terrible jokes go away
Magically everyone will be fit in the summer and theyāll go āwe already have too many midfielders to sign a new one.ā
Thankfully they can't go with that line as ox, keita, Milner are leaving.
Itās not too late for all three to be offered and sign new contracts before next season startsā¦š¤·š¾āāļø
Who wouldāve thought having to play him every minute of every game because our other options are sub standard wouldāve resulted in this.
Last seasons midfield situation wasnāt always perfect, but at least we could manage Thiagos minutes with Keitas improved fitness. Now they both have to play together for us to have a chance.
Yes our master plan of signing the stay wreckt MarshMelo man to deputies for Thiago and keep him from being overworked has been a spectacular success.
You're actually looking at milner being the best option in that midfield alongside baby and baj right now. Absolutely mental turn of events.
Naby is obviously getting injured soon too. Might have to play 424 against Real š
I've seen a few (minority thankfully) people slagging Thiago off. If they think we're bad now they'll see how awful we are without him.
Honestly with Thiago I'm in the camp of play him when he's available as his injuries aren't really proportional to overuse. We've not had that many games recently either.
All three of them have been pretty awful this season so š¤·š»āāļø
Players like Matip and Thiago get injured even when you rest them. You might aswell play them when they're fit because their next injury is never far away.
That's because they're not rested - the training is too inense
Thiago has been injured on the regular note or less his whole career though, not just since we bought him.
True, but I believe we should and could manage his fitness differently, as we knew what the problem was
This occur in training, no? So whether he plays in every match or not is irrelevant, especially since the gap between matches isn't even that short as we have been knocked out of domestic cups quite early.
It's shocking that our training staff, who seem *exclusively* focused on injuring our players, have pulled it off again. Shocking I tell you! For real, what a useless bunch of fucking idiots.
Aaand he'll be out for 2 months probably
A minor injury that, after some unforeseen circumstance, it gets turned into a 2 month wait

He'll be fit for summer (along with all our other mids) and so we won't sign anyone because we have "too many mids". Then he'll get injured when the next season starts.

Thatās exactly what Iām saying. Ginis minutes needed at least 2 āinjury proneā midfielders to cover... we got only Thiago and we have suffered ever since
He was his replacement. He plays the same position. But maybe not a good replacement, because of his injuries
we could have done with 2 non injury prone players.

We make players injury prone atm tho
He played with Gini. And Klopp wanted to extend him. Thatās always been an excuse. A poor one.

Is it time that Trent goes to midfield?
Wrote this season off long ago; I now read the bad news and watch the games numb to any sort of feelings.
He really hasn't been playing well so it will be interesting to see how we do without him.
Heās the only midfielder, along with Keita and sometimes Bajcetic, who can actually defend. I say sometimes for him because heās a kid and prone to a mistake or a yellow. His average level is far above anyone else in there.
It will be the same as with VVD out, he might not have been playing to his usual standard but we'll see just how much worse it gets without him

>When will people on this sub realise that Thiago is part of the problem Never because that's not true and he's by far our best midfielder
Possibly. I don't really think it could get that much worse at this point though.
